Great game

Solid game. Probably one of the better games on iOS. Top ten in my book for mobile games. Doesn't have that mobile game feeling. Great soundtrack and sounds. Great storyline. Very good graphics and effects. However it was far too easy in my opinion when it came to the bosses, coming from years of gaming (grown up playing nes, super nes, pc, etc) but for someone newer to gaming might find it hard. They could of added more fighting than platforming. I am also a snob when it comes to gaming, and realize that not everyone that is gonna play this will have a controller. Other than that its a really well done game that the developers should be proud of. Look forward to more games by the developers.

One of the best Metroidvania game. Period.

I’ve been a huge fan of the Metroidvania genre and this game really surprises me with the high quality. This console-quality game just check all the boxes a good Metroidvania game should have: * Great storyline and settings * Well-crafted maps and level design * Smooth actions and controls * Huge variety of skills/moves to unlock * Lots of collectibles Other than the points mentioned above, it also features a quest system that you can get quests from NPCs or during explorations, and these quests are not just beat these monsters or collect these items. These quests are actually supported by stories and help you progress the game or understand more about the settings. I would highly recommend this game to any Metrovania lovers and would highly recommend to play it with a physical controller as it might become challenging in later stages of the game when you need precise inputs at a really fast pace.

❌Unpleasant❌

I am not compelled to complete Haak. The game does not rely on the grappling hook concept as much as one might expect. It is a basic game in the Metroidvania genre (Metroidvania games have a maze-like design) with some interesting story/design choices that resemble current times rather than the past or future. This makes the game somewhat interesting. Technically, Haak does take place in the future from 2025 when this review was written. The problem is that the controls do not live up to the interesting elements of Haak. I must have gotten 7-10 hours through the game before deleting it do to boredom. Two-dimensional games with digital circle pads, regular circle pads, or control sticks feel like a waste of an opportunity every single time.

Wonderful Game / iPad controls

This is a very well made platformer and I recommend you buy it. It’s been a lot of fun so far and love has been put into it I’m having some trouble with the iPad controls however and this would be the first iOS game I’d consider a controller for. I’m able to adjust the controls which is amazing. But when I do one of the gameplay features gets lost: I’m no longer able to crouch and drop below platforms. Then I have to reset the controls to the default settings and I’m able to crouch and drop below the platforms. And then I have to change them back to how I prefer them. I’m hoping the developer sees this and can assist me and I’ll be happy to update my review because this is a really fun and unique game and there’s a lot here to love. Just having some technical difficulties.

got this for my Switch a while back and then saw it on sale here and figured why not. Now I’ve played it more on iOS than on my Switch. =P Very nice and easy to recommend Metroidvania with some pretty nice combat and enough exploration to keep you busy for hours and hours. Plus, it’s another console-quality game on iOS that’s no IAP, what’s not to love? Fans of the genre should definitely have this game on at least one of their gaming systems.

Control bug

There needs to be an update to fix the bug that freezes your characters movement to the last input. Notice it when using a controller device that if you take damage the game glitches you into the last movement input, causing you to continue running or crouching or whatever the last movement input is. My devices are up to date with the latest firmware so this isn’t a client issue.

Really fun well done metroidvania

Great world building, interesting characters all around. Exploration is fun and developed nicely. It’s easy to teleport around the map using the “teletoilets” and you can also leave markers for stuff to come back to later. The touch controls are customizable and work really well—I would like to be able to move them a little closer together but it’s ok. Overrule great game and easy recommendation.

This game is def a rare find. One of my favorite games to date. I hope the devs keep up the good work. I’ve paid for a lot of games and had buyers remorse, not with this. Only thing I would ask is that to make this five stars is an update that lets you play music in the background so if I want to hear something other than the game soundtrack I can. But the game sound track is still awesome didn’t stop me from putting in 10 plus hours so far.
