Updated to support the latest devices.
Void X is a striking minimalist boss-rush shmup that feels like a love letter to classic arcade shooters like Ikaruga, but reimagined with a modern, high-contrast aesthetic. From an expert perspective, the game is incredibly tight. The movement is fluid, and the bullet patterns are 'fair'—difficult, but readable. The lack of traditional levels means the focus is entirely on the intense, multi-stage boss encounters, which keep the adrenaline high.
What sets Void X apart is its haptic feedback and sound design. Every shot and dodge feels impactful, creating a flow state that is hard to find in mobile shooters. The progression system is simple but effective, allowing you to upgrade your ship's fire rate and shield capacity. It’s a challenging experience that doesn't hold your hand, rewarding pattern recognition and precision. If you’re a fan of 'bullet hell' games, Void X is a must-have for your library.
Challenging multi-phase boss fights
Ultra-smooth 60FPS gameplay
Minimalist black-and-white aesthetic
Global leaderboards and achievements
In Void X, your hitbox is much smaller than the ship itself—it's only the small glowing core. Focus your eyes on the core rather than the whole ship to navigate through the densest bullet patterns.
Defeating boss parts drops energy orbs. Don't rush to collect them immediately; wait for a lull in the firing pattern, as your ship's movement speed increases slightly when not firing.
Yes, Void X fully supports MFi and Xbox/PlayStation controllers for a more authentic arcade feel.
I absolutely love your game. It’s way more immersive than most things on the App Store right now, and may actually be my favorite gaming experience yet on the Vision Pro. Just two things though: one, it would be fantastic if there was some kind of leaderboard, even if it was only keeping track of your local scores. Two, there’s a bug when you pause and unpause the game that enemies will start shooting again before the three second countdown has finished. Thanks for taking the time to port this to the Vision Pro, it’s awesome!
I’m happy to join the other five star reviewers in stating that this is a perfectly executed app, and tons of fun to play. The graphics are reminiscent of 90s video games but in an immersive futuristic setting; turn the dial up to full immersion and you’re surrounded by 90s graphics and 3-D electric bolts with cool audio. Hand eye tracking is smooth. This game is a classic shooter and becomes increasingly more challenging as the screen scrolls on and on. Other AVP developers would be wise to look at this winning recipe, not cut any corners, and offer great value for the price. Thanks to the developers!
Simple, clever and fun! The fact that it can be played on the watch is next level time wasting fun. Good by social media hello void-x. If you really wanna geek out next level play void-x on your watch but use the iPhone’s ability to AirPlay the watch face and use the watch crown dial to control the ship while using the iPhone watch screen mirroring, found under Accessibility settings. So much fun!
Just got this, but I’m thoroughly enjoying it. Easy to get addicted to and really well integrated with the Vision Pro. Pleasantly surprised how well the hand tracking controls work.
Nice implementation of 3d layering for Vision Pro. Looks best when in frame with the lightning bolts around you. Full immersion is jarring with how heavy the rain effect is. The shooting sound effect isn’t very satisfying. Lacking additional power ups for speed and maybe different shooting enhancements could be different colors? I played with an Xbox controller
This game does a great job of blending an immersive environment and a game window. Nicely done. Best game I’ve played. Easy and quick to jump in, play for a few minutes, and a great demo of what is possible.
This game is a really cool example of how classic arcade styles can flourish in mixed reality. The art style is classic. The touches of 3-D is really cool to experience. The music is super chill. The game is challenging and relaxing at the same time. Absolutely love it.
Let’s be real. This is not a great game. It’s repetitive and there’s no real feedback for the shots fired or for getting hit. It’s like a college project put together for the novelty. Worth 99 cents at best. Definitely not worth what it cost. The immersive aspect is fun but gimmicky, and it’s the only real interesting thing going on here. The music is good.
