Space Impact Watch is a nostalgic triumph for anyone who grew up with a Nokia brick phone. Bringing a full 8-level shoot-'em-up to the Apple Watch is an impressive feat of engineering. The developer clearly understood the limitations of the hardware, implementing a revolutionary control scheme using the Digital Crown for movement that feels incredibly natural on the wrist.
The graphics are 'crispy sharp'—they maintain the retro sprite aesthetic without the blurry ghosting of the original screens. It even includes a worldwide leaderboard and an infinite mode for those who want to push their skills. It's the ultimate 'under-the-desk' or 'in-the-meeting' game that turns your watch into a time machine back to the early 2000s.
Optimized for Apple Watch Digital Crown
All 8 original retro levels and bosses
Infinite mode for endless gameplay
Global leaderboards via Game Center
Rotate the Digital Crown slowly for precise dodging and quickly for rapid movement across the screen to avoid enemy projectiles.
Save your special weapon charges for the bosses at the end of each level. A well-timed blast can skip difficult bullet-hell phases.
The game runs directly on the Apple Watch, though it requires an iPhone for initial installation.
What a wonderful app with great origins. Found this form the creator on Reddit and purchased it as soon as I saw it. The app is definitely well built for the Watch and makes me feel like my smartphone has had a crossover with it. So cool to show off to friends that I can play games on my watch. Also came in handy when I was a little bored at a waiting room and needed something to do. Keep up the good work!
This game is such a classic and is made specifically for iWatches. If possible, please do make a version for iPhone users!! The clone versions yet similar, but aren't the same. I'd pay to have the OG Nokia version of it. Got the Snake '97, now only need this one:)
I really like this game. If possible, please make a similar version for iPhone users or make this game support iPhone. Thank you!
