Tyrant’s Blessing is a tactical turn-based RPG that will immediately appeal to fans of 'Into The Breach'. The focus here is strictly on strategy and positioning rather than grinding for better stats. Every battle is a puzzle where you can see exactly where the enemy is going to attack next, and your job is to use your four adventurers to move out of the way, push enemies into each other, or use environmental hazards to your advantage.
The world-building is dark and compelling—you’re leadng a rag-tag uprising against a necromancer who has turned the world into a 'paradise' of undead thralls. The game features twenty different heroes, each with unique abilities that completely change your tactical approach. While there have been reports of performance issues and crashes on mobile, the core gameplay is so rewarding that it's worth the occasional restart. It’s a deep, thoughtful strategy game that rewards brains over brawn.
Tactical turn-based combat with telegraphed enemy moves
20 unique heroes with distinct abilities and personalities
Randomized encounters and moral decision-making
Environmental interaction: use hazards and cover to win
Deep strategy focused on positioning and planning
In this game, moving away from an attack leaves behind a 'shadow' that can still be hit. Ensure you use protective abilities or push the enemy away from your shadow to avoid damage.
Use the environment to your advantage. Kicking up dust can make enemies lose sight, and pushing them into bushes or over stones can interrupt their telegraphed attacks.
A full run can be completed in about 3 hours, but the game is designed for multiple playthroughs to unlock all heroes.
It seems like the game is pretty cyclical in that you get as far as you can go in the missions before you party wipes and then you have to start all over from the beginning, except for the unlocks you’ve acquired. Can be kind of repetitive. When you defeat enemies they resurrect the next turn until there are no more extra lives for them. This makes you feel like you are making no progress until you’ve depleted their lives. The shade system is also confusing - I don’t like it though some people probably do.
Title says it all. This is a really fun game but it isn't particularly optimized for mobile devices which can make aspects of gameplay annoying and take away from the experience. All text is so small that its almost unreadable (in battle and in menu). Gameplay itself is fun. This is an Into the breach-like, so if you like that you'll probably like this.
Shade system presents a cool spin in battles. Enjoy the characters. Biggest con so far is replay ability. I beat the game on hard the first time and was a bit challenging but upon going again all the maps are the same so really the only challenge right now left is using other characters or getting achievements. Having it be procedural generated I think could help a ton in giving this a better value / longevity. (And of course more missions)
Really enjoying the game and hope it gets some more love and attention. Definitely recommend!
I like rpg games but this one gets you bored instantly, the repetitive gameplay of killing the same reviving monsters every round is just kinda looks like it's lacking of story telling, feels like no progress and i have no motivation playing this repetitive game. Feels like no reward and it doesn't gives me any excitement playing it, would be nice if I get my money back instead
I’ve played both games ITTB and this, I have only started but I get good vibes from the gameplay
I enjoy the game, story, art, engaging gameplay. But the shade system didn’t need to be there. It took away from what I feel like is a rewarding system other than the shade system
