Deliverance Reign is an ambitious and atmospheric mobile action-RPG that successfully captures the 'Souls-lite' vibe for handheld devices. The combat is deliberate and punishing; button-mashing will result in a quick death, forcing you to learn enemy patterns and master the timing of your parries and dodges. As an expert in tactical combat, I found the 'Weight' system to be particularly well-implemented—the choice of armor genuinely changes the feel of the game.
The world design is bleak and beautiful, utilizing a desaturated color palette and haunting score to create a sense of overwhelming dread. The boss encounters are the highlight, offering massive, multi-stage challenges that require both reflexes and strategic gear choices. While the story is cryptic and told through environmental clues, it adds a layer of mystery that kept me exploring. It’s a premier title for hardcore players who want a serious, high-quality challenge on the go.
Deliberate, Skill-Based Combat
Epic Multi-Stage Boss Fights
Deep Weapon & Armor Customization
Stunning Atmospheric Visuals
The green bar is your most important resource. If you swing your sword until it's empty, you won't be able to dodge-roll away from the boss's counter-attack. Always leave enough stamina for at least one roll.
Look for walls with a faint blue glow. These are 'Illusionary Walls' that hide relics. Relics provide passive buffs like faster health regeneration or increased poise, which are essential for the late-game levels.
No, the game has a single fixed difficulty intended to be challenging, though you can make things easier by grinding for better equipment.
I’m enjoying the game so far wish they had more ways to spend coins and the cards were bigger because the text is small but overall very fun, similar to slay the spire.
Deliverance is a good start, and there are 6 classes that play differently. It could use more cards and attention, but I like the mechanic of being able to play all cards in your hand without energy costs. Regin is just a Monster Train clone. It has the same basic classes, mechanics, and enemies. But it lacks the original’s ability to pick a second class, so that’s disappointing. It drags down the overall score if you ask me.
Interesting concept that combines slay the spire type gameplay with monster train. However, the deck building lacks depth and creativity. Certain classes allude to the possibilities of synergy, but the synergy is never realized as the card choices offer too many different mechanics and not enough cards to build on any of those mechanics.
