Fantastic and challenging
Fri Jul 03 2020 CuriousAsCanBe227

I can’t express how much I LOVE Fireproof’s “The Room” games.. I originally came across the first one, which is now The Room Pocket, in 2014 (maybe earlier but I can’t remember) and I read the reviews of how good a game it was because it was challenging and the visuals were amazing. So, to my surprise I LOVED the sample chapter and decided to risk paying money to finish the game...and it was worth it...because it was just the right amount of challenging but also not too easy. So after I finished the first installment I desperately wanted to see if they had a second one and THEY DID!! Now, anyone who knows me knows that I don’t spend money on games because typically you spend x-amount only to be disappointed because it wasn’t worth your money. Well, these games definitely ARE worth it. So I’ve played all 4 and love them! And I love them so much that through the years I’ve actually reinstalled them just to play them again when I can’t find a game challenging enough. Highly recommend :)

A Brilliant Evolution of the Original

The Room Two, like its predecessor, is an immersive and impeccably designed puzzle game. Its greatest strength is that it maintains everything that worked in The Room, and then expands on the ominous world it gives players to explore. First, the controls and interface are perfectly preserved. The player uses the touch screen to examine and manipulate objects and contraptions. Everything from flipping switches, opening lids and handling screwdrivers is done manually via the touchscreen. It makes the player feel like they are unlocking these mysteries with their own hands, and is a critical part of what makes both games so immersive. Unlike the original, The Room Two features multiple locations, each with their own mysteries to solve. This provides a greater variety of puzzles than The Room, with its intricate boxes, had to offer. Each room has its own feel and internal logic, and the puzzles are just as mind bending as before. Additionally, the unsettling notes left behind for the player by their mysterious acquaintance further advance the plot first laid out in The Room. Overall, The Room Two feels like a natural evolution of The Room, maintaining the wonderful controls and eerie atmosphere, while offering up a richer variety of puzzles. Fans of the original will find everything they could want in a sequel, while new players would be best served by first playing The Room. It will help you appreciate The Room Two all the more.

Won’t sync to iPad

I tried The Room pocket version and really enjoyed it, so I purchased the game when given the option. The graphics, game play and puzzles are throughly enjoyable. My only issue is that when I purchased The Room 2, after playing it on my phone, I went ahead and downloaded it to my iPad. I wanted to play it on a bigger screen, but it will not sync at all. I keep getting a “ Failed to download saved data. Please check your internet connection” I am on my home network, on wifi. I restarted me iPad, deleted the game and reinstalled, then logged out of game center and logged back in. I played the game from the beginning on my iPad, and then went back to playing on my phone, and received the same error message on my phone this time. I tried everything. If it would just sync so I can play on a bigger screen, I would give it a solid 5 stars. It is still worth purchasing in my opinion because it is a really enjoyable game, and have just downloaded The Room 3 and The Room old sins because it is that addictive.

Mind Boggling Clues And Puzzles !

I finally escaped! I am 61 and The Room and now The Room II have been my favorite iPad games. The graphics are amazing, and that is an understatement. This game will test your ability to observe, memory, deductive reasoning, math skills, dexterity and a bit of entomology. It might even test your patience. When a piece of the puzzle is solved and the room spins around to reveal a new box or cabinet or insect on the wall, prepare for tachycardia and palpitations lol. At times I was grateful for the help available by clicking the “?” in the upper left hand corner. I was also glad that the clues given there were not the answer, but additional information to help me find the next solution. I recommend new players check each puzzle with their infrared Lens on the right of the screen. Scan all around the room once in a while. If you get stymied, just close that door and go back to your own room for a while. LOL. The Room II will be patiently waiting for you do you unlock it again.

Great... will finish series! Truly worth 2$

First, if you haven’t tried the room: pocket, you’re missing out. By far one of the best free games I’ve ever played. Heck, one of the best puzzle games ever! This installment is well worth the two dollars. Took me a decent amount of time... there are points where things get a bit muddled, but nothing to give up on... there’s always the basic hint to help - though sometimes it’s not very helpful. FYI: The Room 3 is $4, and the last one is 5$. If I’d gotten 2$ worth of food at McDonald’s instead of buying this game, I’d be hungry by now... and I can do the game again! There are some puzzles that I dunno where the clues were - I went hmmm... I can move these, and Clunk... I unlocked the lock. Pure luck. Biggest tip of all... never forget your nifty eye piece... often clues are right in front of you, just hidden from plain sight. Looking forward to the rest of the series! Great job, devs!

Awesome Game!

The graphics, first of all, are impressive in general- let alone on a phone. I appreciate the work that has been put into these games and agree that they are worth the little but of money. There are multiple levels, each with a different theme that ties into the overall story. The maneuverability is simple and easy to pick up, which makes getting started a breeze. The puzzles are challenging but not impossible and the hints have just enough information without giving too much away and making the game too easy. Some similar games are just so poorly constructed that it isn’t the puzzle that is hard, but knowing what areas you can actually access by randomly tapping all over the screen and hoping something is selectable. You will not have that issue in The Room, however. If you enjoy mysteries, puzzles, and a little bit of macabre you will enjoy this game. I’m moving on to the third!

Absolutely Fantastic!

I didn’t really play the room one, or I just don’t remember all that well, but I have been caught up and addicted with this game! It takes me back to the train, where we had the suitcase and other puzzles before the real ‘horror’ started. When i first played The Room One, I remember the train ride; with the outgoing graphics and that random noise burst in the beginning. I’m not quite sure if this was supposed to be a horror game or not, but parts of it scared the daylights out of me. Or..partially. Anyways The Room Two’s graphic design, cutscenes, and puzzles are all award winning. I recall that when I first got the Room Two, i couldn’t make it past the ship. Now, I managed to finish the game! And I loved that cutscene ending, it made me wonder what happened, but at the same time want to know more and more! I hope I get every game in the next year or so are just as awesome as this one! Maybe better! Keep up the good work!

Don't Knock It 'til You Try It

I started this game immediately after finishing The Room. I was thrown for about an hour of gameplay, and more than mildly disappointed because the first room or so were so terribly and painfully easy, not to mention boring. However, it's only a way to teach those out-of-practice how to grasp the game mechanics, and beyond those two levels the game goes from "okay" to "better than most AAA horror and puzzle games". I got chills, I felt like I had to work for the puzzles and the answers, and this game is absolutely GORGEOUS. The graphics themselves are w-o-w and that is without mentioning the theater-worthy cutscenes. I really can't rave more about The Room Two without seeming repetitive, but there's no aspect of this game or this developer that finds itself lacking. I can't imagine having a better gaming experience. 6/5, would play again and again and again and again and agai
