The App Store ver is WAY different then the one I have in my anorid phone (saying in my opinion) the spinning circle thing is so hard to play on a do n the one on my phone it’s not like that and there’s only 2 severs you can play on (one single player one muit player) and there’s only like 20 songs you can play I get that it just came out but it’s pretty disappointing so just stick with project Sega until this game gets more updates and most songs on here are on project Sega I’m pretty sure I tried to load other songs (like Gary and shut me up) but they weren’t loading and when I reopened the game there was only like 20 songs (as I said earlier)

Okay so like, I was super excited for the game to come out cuz I reallly wanted to play custom charts and I was hearing a lot of good things, but HOLY LAG. I know this was an issue in the past, including the whole Cyanvas server fiasco, but this game is gonna pmo AGAIN. For context, I sometimes use this iPad when my phone is dead, and I don’t have cyanvas or any other server full of other songs other than Horizon and Multiplayer on this device. So, I rely on multiplayer server to find good songs to play. But whenever I put a song into favs, i can only play 2 seconds of it and it just…stops. This even happens before I download it, like when I’m playing the song from the server yk… But sometimes, if I’m REALLY lucky, I’ll be able to play half the song. HALF. What a JOKE. but yeah, totally unplayable now. Idk if it does that on my phone too because I don’t use multiplayer on my phone soooo….🤷 (Edit: I found out that the whole thing just ends when I miss/ break my combo once. ONCE BRO. TS ISNT FAIR. WHATS WRONGGGG SONOLUS???) (Edit 2: It does this on Horizon too??? Bro wth.)

Sonolus's biggest mistake was considering releasing on app stores, yet refusing to get a proper team to manage it. Sonolus servers continues crashing every second, causing the end of—if not, one of the most popular server yet, Chart Cyanvas; and im pretty sure almost everyone only downloaded Sonolus for the reason of playing custom songs and charts. Next, the Discord moderators. The Discord moderators are the most incompetent, laziest moderators I've ever seen. They've never announced any ongoing bugs or problems in the game when everyone is complaining about it, they're extremely disrespectful to the discord members when called out for their uselessness, and they always mute people for simply—nothing. you make a general channel, so expect people to talk in that general channel? I've tried jailbreaking Sonolus before its official release but failed on multiple counts. I was so excited to download this game for the first time, but ended up facing long loading time, crashing 24/7, and toxic devs. Showed me the true colors of what a lazy dev team is like. i quit.

As stated in several other reviews, Chart Cyanvas, the most popular server for proseka fancharts, was shut down. This was due to incoming user traffic becoming too much for the server owner to be able to afford. While the other proseka fanchart server, Potato Leaves, is still up, it lacks a lot of the additional search/tagging functions that Chart Cyanvas had. The Discord server has also been closed and archived following the game's full release. Ads are given in between every few songs. With the game now having lost one of its major purposes, one of its major sources of communication, and also becoming more inconveniencing to play than actual proseka, the only reasons I'd say are left to download Sonolus anyway are the fact that you can save charts to play offline and if you have any interest in their other fanchart servers.

I jus started playing sonolus a few days ago, so i’m not very experienced yet, but I think there’s a major problem for half of the community. the server “Chart Cyanvas” is telling me it’s been discontinued, meaning we can’t play any fan made games. I don’t understand why it was taken down. if there’s a good reason I can be told, I may be able to hear the devs out, but for now I think it’s confusing how they took down an innocent and normal server. many others i’ve talked to are upset about it and complaining too. i’ve seen many videos saying how they think it’s unfair. I believe we need a good reason for its take down.

This app is incredible for what it does and the possibilities, there is no other app quite like this on the app store. custom servers and custom charting is incredible and the fact you could make your own mobile rhythm game using sonolus is amazing. The ads are an unfortunate reality but there’s no other way this project would be feasible, so I have no problem with them. Keeping in mind how ads are necessary to sustain the app, I don’t think they’re that invasive nor anticonsumer.

at first, i saw the hype for this game and i was excited for it, but my experience from start to finish was absolutely terrible. i didn’t blame the devs for the crashing of chart cyanvas (where most charts are located) on the first day of release, since first day issues are to be expected. but in the discord server, i was faced with rude moderators that were condescending and terrible at their jobs, and they banned people for having normal conversations. throughout the 2 days i was in that server, i never once felt like i was being treated fairly or even treated as a person due to the way i was spoken to. in fact, i have a screenshot of a moderator questioning my age and being rude about my appearance + purposefully misgendering me (i am trans.) besides all of that, after a few days of sonolus being released, chart cyanvas (the one mentioned earlier with the majority of player-made charts and by far the most popular) has been permanently closed, and players are being promised a new, better game mode, but i doubt it’ll be better. i’m not going to hold my breath for anything from a group of unreliable, rude, bigoted teenagers.

I love Sonolus because it makes it so I don’t need to have project sekai downloaded (which takes up a bunch of space on my phone) but I can still use the rhythm gaming engine from sekai. The only complaint I have is that sometimes when I close the app and leave it open in the background then come back to it, the sfx audio stops playing, but after restarting the app it works. Other than that no complaints really 🙏 Bless 🙏
