Our Expert Score

94/100

Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! is a tour de force in the rhythm game genre, blending world-class music production with a deeply engaging visual novel experience. The gameplay mechanics—tap, hold, and flick—are incredibly responsive and cater to everyone from casual fans to 'Master' difficulty enthusiasts. What truly sets this title apart is the story of the 20 original characters and their struggles, all of which are fully voiced and beautifully written. The concept of 'SEKAI,' a place born from true feelings, provides a wonderful narrative backdrop for the vast library of popular Vocaloid songs, including hits like 'Tell Your World' and 'ROKI.'

The 'Virtual Show' feature is an industry-leading innovation, allowing players to attend real-time concerts with others globally, complete with customizable avatars and glow sticks. The gacha system for character cards is well-balanced, and the cards themselves feature stunning artwork that fans will love to collect. Whether you're here for the challenging rhythm charts, the emotional story chapters, or the vibrant community interactions, this is an essential experience for any music game fan. SEGA and Colorful Palette have created something truly magical that celebrates the power of music to connect and heal.

Love this game but…

I love pjsk, it’s super fun and all that, whenever I’m bored I love going to it to play, i especially love doing songs with multiple tiles that are also super fast, like creation myth or intense voice, I also really like doing expect songs and getting full combo on them and I love co-op, now co-op is really fun because you get to try new songs you’ve never tried before also, if you complete the song it’ll auto count it as if you did it in solo, I love this so that way i don’t have to retry in solo so get my score again or probably lower but I have just one problem… whenever a song gets boring for me I like leaving mid song and this is a habit I have with co-op but I keep getting ban threats after that, for example it says this “if you continue acting inappropriate towards others in co-op mode your account will be banned/terminated.” Or something along those lines, tbh this happened a lot before because i remember I was in my car with my mom and i stopped clicking the tiles for about 10-20 seconds and then after the song it gave me a notice saying that I will get banned but I didn’t do anything wrong! And just now recently after using Rui emoji’s to say “hello”, “let’s do this!”, and “untill we meet again” I tried going back into co-op mode but it said that u wasn’t allowed to for 1-2 minutes, I don’t understand this and I hope that this is just a bug, please fix this cause I don’t want my account getting banned, I spent a lot of time on it. Please fix.

New gacha system implemented?
Fri Dec 01 2023 Vv_Mango

Hi I play on global servers but I can’t speak Japanese so I’m writing my review here. Something I would love to see added to the gacha feature of this game would be a system where on every gacha banner there’s something (like a popup maybe) that asks the player “which featured card on the banner you prefer the most,” and players get to pick one out of 3, or however many featured cards there are on the banner. This would make is so that whichever featured card the player selected would get a small percentage increase in chances to be rolled in comparison to the other featured cards on the banner (maybe like a 1%-2% chance increase) also this system as well as special rate increases (like fes banners) go hand in hand, I know in certain banners rates are increased a couple percents but it still makes it to where each featured four star card is at the same percent chance to be rolled as each other, and I just think it makes it more fair to players (especially free to play players like myself) if they can choose which featured card they want the most from a banner and get a small rate increase for that one card. I’ve had a few bad experiences with the gacha in this game because I would get every other featured card besides the one I was actually pulling for, and you could say it’s just my bad luck but I really feel like a system like the one I’ve been explaining would help fix this and make the gacha much more pleasant for free to play players and all players in general.

i love this game sm

i love this game sm. it takes a while to get the hang of it, but i’ve been playing for abt 2 years and i can fc expert songs that are around 25-27? idk if that’s good but it should give you an idea on how long it takes to improve. anyways, it’s rlly rlly fun, and the gacha cards are sooo prettyyy. i don’t rlly read the stories so i don’t know much abt the characters, but their designs are really good. and the covers are amazing. like oh my god, n25’s cover of BUG literally blessed my ears. the units were made with a lot of creativity and each one plays different genres and they each have very different backstories. i also like that they include virtual singer songs too, and not all the songs are in japanese. the only downside to this game that i can think of is the sheer size of it. it takes up like 6GB on my tablet. it’s insane. there’s also a glitch (i think this might just be me tho..?) where i try to hit the notes and they don’t register, so i end up missing the notes even tho i literally clicked it 😭. anyways, i think those are my only complaints. i really like coop mode, but i wish there were some kind of way to communicate (other than stickers) with your friends, even when your not in the area map thing. maybe direct messages between friends could be added? anyways, it’s rlly fun and i would highly recommend playing in the english server, mostly because it’s a year behind the japanese server and you have more time to prepare for events that you know are coming. anyways. pretty good game, i rlly like it.

Good game but

Its a good game. Very fun to play with friends, short and quick tutorial. Has very good songs and easy game play that you can customize for you! But i have a few issues. First off, difficult to grind if you have bad luck. But that’s understandable as they can’t make it easy for everyone. However there is a few things that they could add that even if your a starter it can help a lot and won’t make it easy. Like allowing easier ways to get bonus energy or making the countdown shorter as you can’t get any materials after one show if you have no bonus energy and there is really no way to get this bonus energy unless playing in events which only gives you 10 again gone after a good 1-2 shows. (Bonus energy is used to get more energy which recharges 1 energy every 30 minutes. And you use energy to get multipliers in rewards in shows.) Another issue is the gameplay itself. It would always say miss whenever i flick which is annoying because it lowers my health and sets me on a bad score and it constantly does this, same with the green holds. When i hold and it moves, i move along with it which causes me to miss. But if i don’t i still miss so??? Along with just the simple one taps, they sometimes say i miss even when i tap but if i don’t i still miss. This has to be fixed. But overrall pretty fun and easy to play with friends just these issues make it difficult for i would say most players unless you don’t care for energy or never experience i guess i can call it a glitch?

Awesome game! A singular suggestion

I’m not sure where to start off with this review, since I love this game to bits. I found this game on an advertisement on Instagram and now I’m addicted and playing this every single day. The stories and different characters are great, getting gems is kinda easy (though a bit time consuming haha) without having to actually pay, the songs are great, the gameplay is simple unlike some other rhythm games, and I’ve rarely had the game crash (unless my battery is very low and I’ve been playing it nonstop but that’s kinda on me, but I have missed a few full combos due to these crashes 😔) I also really like the gacha even though my luck is pretty bad but I’ve managed to pull quite a few 4 stars. The only suggestion I have for now is to add something like a trading system for all the different cards (4 stars specifically). I think it would be cool if we weren’t able to get a certain card that we wanted, we could trade a different card with someone else. There could be a whole section where you can see what people are trading for (i.e a Len card for a Rui card) and you can accept the trade and get the card you desired. You could also add this trading system so you can send trade requests to people in lobbies, co-op’s, the leaderboard, etc. Though there should also be an option to disable trades so you aren’t spammed with them. And there should be an infinite amount of slots so nobody gets scammed. Again, this is just my suggestion, I absolutely love this came and will continue to play it for quite a while :)

My Favorite Mobile Game

Hey! Normally I don’t write reviews, but this game is an exception! I highly recommend this game! It has something for everyone in it, for old and new vsynth fans alike! The music is amazing, and the fact that so many producers get to make songs for this game makes it feel like a huge collaboration, a love letter to vsynth! Now, this is a gacha game, which does deter people, but I will say, it is completely optional, in fact, the gacha system is more of a incentive to keep playing than anything else, which is how I think gachas should work! It’s nice having a game so reliant on skill and not being pay to win (as it should be, since this is first and foremost a rhythm game). I will say, the worst part of this game is the inconsistent calibrations for tapping notes. Sometimes you tap your screen and you get a miss, bam combo lost. It’s rather obnoxious and I hope it gets fixed soon. Of course, this game also has a rather intriguing and lovely story, one that weaves 5 separate narratives together into a cohesive and rather large world. These 5 stories are related to the 5 major groups and they offer something also for everyone, just like how vsynth SHOULD be. I won’t spoil anything about the stories, but it is DEFINITELY worth playing this game just for the characters/story. Overall, after playing this game for over a year and a half, I have had many great experiences and I love it dearly, despite some issues!

So many glitches..

This game has to be my favorite game yet. I play this for 1-2 hours per day, it's very addicting. The only problem about it, is the bugs. I hope some people on here can relate with me, since these are so god awful lol. The first bug is when it kicks me out of the game right when I buy a gacha. this has happened to me around 4-5 times, and I'm already fed up with it. 3 out of those 5 times have been pulls with 3000 gems. As soon as I pull, it kicks me out of the game, leaving me with not knowing what I got from the gacha (yes I know you'll say "just check your cards, see if you have something new!" that is quite hard for me since I have many cards, and I don't really keep track of them.) or just flat out not even giving me any cards. The second one is the lagging.. I know they have fixed this many many times, but for people who are looking to get this game, please be aware of the lag. it's not always happening but when it does happen you can tell lol, and you'll have to reopen the game. the last one, might just be a me problem, but it's still annoying. often times when I'm playing a song it'll randomly lag and so then I might not get a full combo or the combo I wanted. This has been happening to me pretty much every time I play and it gets very frustrating. I hope the devs can notice me and tell me some ideas to help! Thanks for reading my rant lol, bye

I am obsessed with this game, it's my favorite app on my phone and it always brings me joy when played, I spent 5 minutes ranting about why my friends should get it to them and convinced 2 of them and 1 fell in love with it. I always play with my friends and I also play co-op and I am very rich, not to brag. I always play this game and never will stop. It is a game you can play with cellular data if you don't have good internet or any at all!! There's almost no down falls besides the lag in the game. I feel like it would be helpful if they made some of the gacha's (gacha's are things you can pull with in game money which contribute to characters.) weren't only for in real life money, but other then that this game is amazing and fun to play and It isn't an inappropriate game where you can give out information. It's also very helpful because if you are not aloud to have social medias then you would be able to get this game sense there really isn't any way to chat. Also an idea I have to add in the game is trading cards, it would be an easier way to get characters that aren't in the game anymore or are just in a japanese or english server. You can make it where a certain level and higher only can trade and make scamming harder to do (and i'm not saying you should scam!!). But, In conclusions I would rate this app a 10/10 with no hesitation if you are considering to get this game then you should.
