Awesome Game! Top Pick!

My experience has been that when you actually pay attention to your surrounding options, plan moves ahead and use powers and energies at the right time you can advance in the game. Personally I like to combine the spell that reveals the second row of cards for each column with the single stab spell to clear the front card. That’s just one strategic approach that’s working very well for me. I can think of 30 or more in the next 5 minutes. You have to approach every battle differently because each level is unique and some spells work better then others depending on the Monster you are fighting. The gameplay is strategically driven, original and far from heavy RNG. These elements are very well balanced in this game. The only reason anyone would rate this game negatively is because they failed to grasped the actual gameplay of the game. Hands down one of my favorite games and I’m glad that is practically available for every platform because I did purchased both the IOS and the Steam versions. This is only my take on it and again...my humble opinion. Looking forward for future expansion packs or new versions.

Mixed Feelings
Fri Dec 20 2019 just some guy who likes this

I’ll start out by saying that I think this is a really well made game. The gameplay and progression are well designed, the graphics and sounds are nice, it’s got a solid amount of content included in the base game. All that said, after around 8-10 hours with it, I frequently find myself opening the game and immediately closing it again because I realize that I really just don’t want to play it. The core gameplay loop of playing solitaire over and over got stale for me really fast. Even with all the variety brought by optimizing the spells and items, I just don’t want to clear another row of cards. While my own interest in it fizzled in it quickly, I still think that Solitairica is worth giving a shot if you are a fan of solitaire and/or roguelike card games. The game was designed to be fun, not to manipulate you into buying gems or some other IAP bs, and I think for many people it will achieve that goal.

Needs more work

I’m not sure where this “strategically driven” and “far from RNG heavy stuff” is coming from...it’s a solitaire game where the enemy abilities, when they get them, and even the items you can buy are ALL RNG. Turn down the fanboy a bit. Anyway.... I tried to get into this game, but the constant spamming of abilities by the AI coupled with laughably few of my own burned me out quick. I tried various strategies and builds of my own, followed the many guides provided by other players...but I decided hang it up for good when I realized they all pretty much ended the same: “It all comes down to luck of draw and enemy traits.” If the player had access to better items, more abilities that aren’t (usually) weaker carbon copies of base abilities/borderline useless most of the time it might be a different story. Maybe I just don’t get the same rush as others; after getting screwed by rngesus over and over again, winning because the stars aligned doesn’t make me feel accomplished. Why would it? My skill, planning, and strategy had little to do with it, luck did. No thanks. Passing on this one.

Fun game, but there's a bug that freezes the game

This is a fun game, but there's a bug I've just run into that freezes the game. I have a card I can remove from the board, but when I tap on it nothing happens. I also have a spell I can use, but tapping on that doesn't do anything. Tapping on the top card of my deck also doesn't do anything. The game board isn't completely unresponsive, because if I hold my finger on a spell, it shows what spell it is, and I can also press the info and settings icons at the top of the screen and display those screens. I guess I'm going to have to quit this game and start a new one. Hopefully this bug doesn't happen too often. This is on my second day of playing the game, but I've played many games and this is the first time I've encountered this bug. I'm subtracting one star for the bug; otherwise I would give this four stars.

Ok game, very RNG heavy, battery killer.

This seems like a really good idea for a game, but I’m not sure I like how it’s executed. To say the game is driven by RNG is a n understatement. There’s so much relying on random draws that it’s almost impossible to implement any type of strategy. Very often, you’ll be near the end of the match with a few cards left on the board, but no matching draw cards. There’s no strategy here: you’re either given a card that works, or you’re not. Thus, many of your losses are totally out of your control. This might not be that big of a deal if the game also wasn’t a major battery killer. For a game that could work entirely on 2D graphics, there are a lot of 3D elements mixed in. It looks nice, but the battery drain is crazy high (I’m talking Minecraft level battery drain) with no options for battery saving. I dunno, faced with the numerous other card-based games on the market that do involve strategy (and don’t make your battery scream) it’s hard to recommend this.

Don’t buy this extremely poorly designed game.

Not only does this game have absolutely nothing to do with strategy of any kind as it is 100% reliant on RNG, the rest of the game is about as shallow as could be. The developers quote obviously only cared about making it look good. The graphics are fine. That is the only thing the game has going for it. You get next to no gold each turn to buy from the smallest pool spells and items I’ve ever seen. Half of the spells and items don’t help you in the game and another quarter of those spells and items are actually entirely useless. If you’re lucky enough to draw one of the few things that are decent, you probably won’t have enough gold to buy it. You also can’t sell things you’ve already bought, leaving you with an inventory full of useless garbage. Stay away, save your money for one of the countless better games on the iOS store. Dicey Dungeons has the same vibe as this and is exponentially more polished.

RNG

I’ll admit I like the game and I have played it quite a bit. The serious problem I have is, it literally is all RNG and getting stronger the more cards you unlock? Seriously? It should be more like the enemy gets stronger the more cards you unlock. Especially when the enemy is dropping poison on every card and you’re not drawing anything to remove it, or you’re drawing the same cards over and over and you have no plays, you sit there and hope you get lucky to draw into something to start a combo. I mean I’ve been spammed to death by the literally the first enemy because I couldn’t draw anything and he just nibbles me for 1 damage forever while I’m drawing dead cards. I think it needs some serious rebalancing with some things. I’m not complaining about difficult, but there is no strategy, it’s a pure luck RNG game. I’ll just go grind Mephisto for 10 hours on diablo II if I want to get RNG screwed.

Poor designed rogue-like card game

I really like art of the game, I really like it idea, I like some mechanics, but I totally don’t like game-design. I’m sure your first impression will “ohh seems it is cute and nice game!”. But deeper you play and learn it, one thought is starting come to your mind too often, that is definitely something wrong with this game. During playing I always have that feeling that there is always lack of something. Lack of gold, lack of choices, lack of cards to make a move (some fights are too ugly that only left you 1 choices to skip turns and mean while enemy damage you to the death), lack of points to apply skills, etc. Sometimes enemy freely make damage attacks one after another or cast a lot of bad effects that you simply can’t handle, because you are lack of points or you get “bad cards” and can’t respond much, tooooo much RNG. For example in 1 fight I got total 6 stun turns! On a field there wasn’t good combination, and as I couldn’t use my spells (at least to heal or set shields) enemy killed me during a few turns... What is this lol? Is that how game should look like? So very fast you are realize that you don’t get fun from game, you get anti-fun. P.S. I own it like a few years and installed and uninstalled a lot. I always hoped about rebalance, but devs seems blind about feedback or simply keep game this way intentionally.
