Leaderboards: Weekend Classic
The MLB The Show Companion App is an essential utility for any serious Diamond Dynasty player. Rather than being a standalone 'game,' it functions as a high-powered command center for your console experience. The standout feature is undoubtedly the Face Scan, which allows you to project your own likeness onto your Ballplayer with surprising accuracy, bridging the gap between reality and the digital diamond.
Beyond aesthetics, the app shines as a marketplace tool. The ability to flip cards, manage buy/sell orders, and check the latest Community Market trends while away from your PlayStation or Xbox is a game-changer for building a 'God Squad' without spending real money. The interface is clean, and the inclusion of the 'Scouting Report' and latest news keeps you tethered to the live service content cycles. It's a polished, snappy experience that turns your phone into a portable front office.
Real-time Community Market access
Face Scan for custom Ballplayers
Diamond Dynasty squad management
Official news and program tracking
Notifications for sold items
Open the app, sign into your platform account, and select the Face Scan tool. Ensure you are in a well-lit room and follow the on-screen prompts to capture your profile. Once uploaded, your likeness will be available for your custom Ballplayer on console.
Navigate to the Community Market tab to view live prices. You can place buy orders for low-priced cards and sell orders for higher-priced ones to accumulate Stubs while on the go.
Yes, you must have an active MLB The Show account on PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch to link with the app.
I have an account through Xbox and I’ve been using the app just fine since the game came out. However, since the update, it logged me out and I cannot log back in. Just keeps popping up with “an error occurred while trying to login”, “sorry there was an issue with the login process.” I even went as far as changing my password for my account and offloading/reinstalling/powering down etc.. from what I saw, a lot of people are experiencing the same issue.
This is my second year in a row to use this app and every time, it’s “processing data” for the first day or two after logging in for RTTS. I’m a simple guy willing to allow a face scan (something I don’t often do due to facial recognition software) but here I am willing to do it all to fantasize about play in the show but the app won’t cooperate.
Downloaded just for face scan but it demands a complex multi-account login process that I spent 20 minutes going through. But still just doesn’t work. Same useless log in loop over and over. Logins of course are mostly about selling your data and getting you to buy stuff. The fun of this game has been quickly sucked out by a shoddy process of them trying to get all our data. I’d even be willing to give my data if it was easy. But somehow it’s hard. Forget it. Was there no QC on this login process?
I was looking to try and keep up with the news of the show. But getting this app has just caused more problems than solutions. Firstly, I had zero clue what I was doing and took me three hours to link my account. But I always get an error when I try to link my account with the Nintendo company. While my cousin has this on his phone, he says that buying and selling cards is super glitchy. And says it is not worth the time and effort, should I keep this glitchy game, or just give up on it?
This is to any developers and i’m asking, is the face scan feature temporarily closed? It won’t work and has a banner that says closed and I got confused because it should be available. I have the latest version at a current time point, let me know if anything has changed or will change.
The login process is broken. I logged in successfully, only to be kicked out the next day. Every time I log in, I am logged back out when I reopen the app. That in itself is not going to work for most people. Then, my Microsoft account repeatedly rejected my CORRECT password, which I had successfully used the day prior. This password lets me through on other platforms so I know it is correct. Fix the login process and stop kicking users out of the app, and then it might be worth it.
I have multiple Microsoft accounts and accidentally selected the wrong one. There is not an option to sign out of that Microsoft account. I want to go back and choose the one actually associated with my Xbox. When I select my game (24) and console (Xbox) it still prompts me every time if I want to use Microsoft online to sign in. Cool. But it’s still logged in to the wrong account and I can’t change in on this apps browser. Not sure how to fix but it makes the app unusable.
Previous years the app was great if you played the Diamond Dynasty market. Gone are the days of taking pictures, writing tasks down, and creating spreadsheets to track programs thanks to this years version!
