A seriously fun and addicting baseball game!

I rarely write reviews, and I am typically not a big fan of mobile games, but this game surprised me. Despite being a PvP game designed around quick, 1 inning matches, it has a surprising amount of depth. Each player on your team has a special skill. Some players have an offensive skill, like a power boost when batting and a fastball is pitched; other players have a defensive skill, like the ability to throw the ball insanely fast to a base after fielding it; and pitchers have a pitching skill, such as a boost to their control as long as they have no balls in the count. Mixing and matching different players allows you to build a team with a skill set that fits your play style and has a major effect on each game. I must mention that most players in the game have to be unlocked, but so far I haven’t spent any money and I have unlocked most of them simply by playing the game. The pitching and hitting system works very well and is actually better than many console baseball games I have played over the years. If you are reading this devs, I think you have the basis for a solid console baseball game. Take what you have already done and just expand on it. Create more players, expand the customization of teams/logos/etc and allow people to play longer games (6- 9 innings) and you could have a seriously awesome console baseball game here. As is, you already have an excellent mobile baseball game… I just want more!

Hmmm

Question? I’m curious after reading all the reviews is there any way for the developers to answer what percent of the games are real players? Nobody wants to sit and wait for long times to play so I understand playing against and ai. There have been games in the past with good concepts that just never made it because the ai era wasn’t developed enough. But my review of the game itself is probably the best baseball game ever made it terms of balance and performance, ease of play and just over all fundamentally well made. You are better at this game if tut played baseball. What would be nice to know is what is happening in a game against the ai is the score already determined before the game because it seems to be able to hit pitches from anywhere and it’s not affected by changing the speed of the pitch. Then when you hit no matter what the timing is you might hit a blooper or a home run the feel of the game changes when you know your playing someone and you can tell that only when a situation happens where you know that someone playing like they throw it to the wrong base. But I’ve spent money on this game because it’s fun to play and if I owned a baseball team I’d have to spend money on players if if I wanted to win so same here. So reguardless if the play to win concept it’s a great game to get into.

Fun but became difficult to compete

So this game is actually quite fun. You get cards (player) with different abilities to build your lineup. As you progress, chests opened get you more cards which get you new players or cards needed to upgrade your current ones. Before, getting cards of a player you had maxed or has the max amount of cards gave you gold. The gold was used to level up players. A month or two ago, they did an update. In the update, they took away the gold you get and replaced it with shards. The shards are used to take a level 13 player (former max level) and get them to level 14. Things great for longtime players that maxed most/all of their common/rare and even epic cards. For players that have been playing less than a year, it makes it very difficult to compete. Before, I could max out a player every month. Now it takes me two to three months and because they took away the best way to get gold and replaced it with nothing. I still play, but it gets disheartening when you face teams with 2-3 level 14 legendary players and you cant even max out rare ones. Developers: give us a way to get gold again that doesn’t take months. It takes about 185k gold to max out a player and you only get 37 gold a win. Chests give gold, but it varies from a couple hundred to 4K (legendary chests). Please do something to make it feel like the grind is worth it or make it where we don’t get whooped by overpowered teams. Makes the game less fun when you feel like you can compete.

Fantastic game... but

This game is fantastic! To be completely honest these graphics are pretty good. Theres very little lag when hitting or pitching. The games are fair to say the least in terms of difficulty (even having a great player card statistically won’t guarantee anything). It truly comes down to swing timing, pitch selection and location to hit the ball well. I have no issues with the hitting mechanics; I would like to see more home runs on balls that are hit in the gap instead. I feel like theres nothing much more I could do to hit the ball perfectly. The pitching mechanics are perfect in my opinion. The only serious thing that I believe should be updated are the base running mechanics. It is very difficult to have a successful rundown without completely psyching out the opposing fielding team to throwing to the wrong base. Once you are caught in between any base the send back and send forward buttons are slightly delayed and most of the time would not follow through with going back or forward if you're in a run down (If you change directions running the bases you're pretty much locked in until you reach the next base, terrible for rundowns being the baserunner). Once again one of the best and greatest baseball games I’ve ever played, PERIOD!

Garbage

This game is absolute garbage from the start. While game play is pretty basic and easy, there are far too many issues with this game to spend time, let alone money on. For starters, base runners who decide to return to a base after realizing they are going to be thrown out take forever to change directions. If you are caught in a pickle, there is next to know chance of getting out of it safely, as they change of direction takes forever. Secondly, the lag in the game is ridiculous. I can’t tell you how many times I have pitched to a batter, the game lagged, and next thing I know my next pitch timer is already down to 1 second, the batter is either already at first base or the game freezes. Which brings me to my next issue. The game freezes so often after I win and lose, that I have to restart the game, only to find that if I did win, I don’t get those trophies and gold baseballs, towards my chests. More on the lag. I have had it numerous times where I’m running to a base and know 100% that I am going to be safe, only for the game to lag, the defense throws the ball to the base I should be standing on, my runner disappears, the defender swipes as if tagging me (only I’m not there anymore) and then the umpire makes the out call. I’ve lost multiple games like this because this very thing has happened at home plate. I could go on and on, but overall, don’t waste your time on this game. At least not until all these issues are fixed.

Connecting issues while playing

This is a great game was definitely surprised at the time and effort that was put into the game. I’m not going to admit how much money I have spent on the game. What is grinding my gears about the game the most is the higher your level becomes players become more cheesier. I’m running into lot of connection issues while playing. Normally it’s when the game is tied or bases are loaded or bass runner is in scoring position. Players tend to do something that makes the game lag or have connection issues. I’m starting to believe that they want you to spend more money even when your spending money. all in all it’s a great game. Love the competitive nature of it I would definitely recommend it to friends as well. Would love to see more updates on a regular for the amount of money that is being spent on this game so I can imagine how other players are spending money as well. Other than that you have a great game on your hands real cash cow. PS please give us more updates and if you are going to want us to continue to buy things, add more things as far as equipment, players upgrades, level ups, etc. thank you

Extremely fun, just buggy

I love the game. It’s the first game I’ve felt was worth paying for and I’ve give it a 5 five star rating expect for how buggy it is. I’ve lost a few games because of it. Sometimes it will not allow me to pick off a runner. I press the base I want to throw to multiple times, but it won’t allow me to throw. This happens about 5 percent of the time. Occasionally the same thing happens when pitching. I choose a pitch, but it won’t register and so it ends up using the previous pitch. If I’m not fast and quickly move the position of the pitch, it will throw the ball at the center of the strike zone. The last thing that has hurt me is that at times, about 10 percent of the time, it takes me multiple times pressing the bad I want to throw to before it finally will throw. This is what has lost me the most games and can be extremely frustrating. Other than those frustrations, I truly enjoy the game. The graphics are great, it requires a lot of thought in choosing you team, who best to place at each position, etc. it gives the free users the opportunity to play without commercials. That was what sold me on spending money and I truly appreciate and reward the company for it. Overall a very fun game that I recommend with the above caveats.

What happened after update?

UPDATED REVIEW: was 3 stars now 4.5 again Last update really helped with the hitting problem from previous update. You can actually hit the ball again. I don’t see cheating but very rare glitch on safe/out calls. Very rare in my experience. Only issue is the cost of buying upgrade cases. Example: For the amount of $ for a “Legendary Chest” you should certainly obtain a better ratio of Legendary Cards. It costs 2,500 gems which is approximately $25 real world dollars. BUT YOU ONLY GET 1 LEGENDARY CARD!!! That’s insane. For that cash you should get a minimum of 5. Just saying devs. Good update though. Keep up the improvements and we will have a 5 star game all day. This game was an easy 4/5 star. Even spent occasional real $. But since update the batting strength of hitters is garbage. Most games have 90% ground balls for outs. And most of hose are weak hits. I tested my theory after 6 games. I chose batting practice. Chose top legend hitter and maxed out to level 13 against a level 3 common pitcher. The results were awful. This matchup used to result in 8-12 home runs over 100 pitches. Which would be accurate in real MLB. Instead it was awful. Way too many bloops and ground balls with rare HR. FIX THE BATTING FOR BETTER RATING.
