Great game but really really really frustrating

This is the best golf game on the App Store no question. However… the tournaments that require tickets to enter can be infuriating. For a few reasons. For instance, sometimes even if I birdie 5 of 6 holes in a tournament I can still lose because an AI eagles and hole in ones the last two holes (which has happened numerous times) out of nowhere. I love that this game is challenging but sometimes it’s a bit ridiculous. My only other issue and the reason I’m even writing a review is because I grinded and played a great round to just pull off a 1st place at sunset valley which is a tough course and costs 15 tickets to play. Following my win I clicked “OPEN CHEST” only for me to receive ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I’m not sure if this is a glitch or what but I am fuming over it. To sum everything up this is a great game and I’ve recommended it to all my friends and I will definitely continue to play. I just hope the issues I mentioned are addressed. P.S, I’ve never written a review before but this game deserves one and 5 stars because you’ve finally given me a good golf game to play on my phone. And I thank you for that :)

Great game but the AI is OP

I've been playing this golf game for about a year and a half, and overall, it's been a really enjoyable experience. There have been some fantastic runs where I've played exceptionally well, but there have also been moments of frustration, especially when it comes to the ranked matches. One issue I've noticed is the distinct feeling that I’m not always playing against real people. Over time, I've gotten pretty good at distinguishing between actual players and AI, and in ranked matches, the AI behavior seems incredibly obvious. The shots and scores of some opponents just don’t add up with the clubs they’re using. For example, I might have a solid string of victories, only to be paired with someone who clearly has subpar clubs, yet they manage to outplay me—sometimes by a wide margin. There have been rounds where I've played exceptional golf, shooting -8 or even -9 under par, only to have my "opponent" (who is clearly an AI) pull off an impossible -10. It feels like the game intentionally sets up these situations, letting me reach the final round before throwing in a completely unrealistic performance from an obvious AI. This kind of match-making is seriously frustrating and, unfortunately, it’s starting to ruin what could otherwise be a very fun experience.

I love this app but some recommendations for devs

I’ve played so many rounds I love the feel of this game. It’s missing some features that would make it more rewarding to play. I’ve maxed out my rank in ranked play and there’s nothing left for me to do. I still win every match and it’s not rewarding being top rank and not having a number ranking or more ranks to go. I haven’t maxed out my competitive ability. I don’t get new clubs enough to keep playing in single player tournaments. I really only wait for the weekly league and hope I get one or two driver cards because they’re the only clubs I need but I’m still so far off. Not sure I’ll ever get my La Bomba to even level 3 because I’ve played over 2000 rounds and just got it to level 2. Certain holes like 6 on sunset are unreachable unless the wind is helping a lot.

Fun kinda

This game is fun don’t get me wrong, but, it’s not fun at the same time. You can hit a perfect shot and do the exact same swing and then you apparently miss hit the ball even though you moved your finger the same way. The chipping and putting mechanics do not make sense at all either. The chipping animation takes way too long and my chips don’t have nearly as much spin on them as they should. And then putts…. It takes so long to pull your putter back all the way and when you do it never gives you the power that you need for an uphill putt or just a long putt. This game is fun but the mechanics inside of it don’t relate to any actual golf swing or golf mechanics. The game was much more fun when it was more simple, now that they added all of this unneeded stuff it ruined the game. They could make it much more fun again if they would fix the mechanics inside of the game. Also the rough and the sand mechanics don’t make sense at all. You’re telling me that since I’m hitting out of the rough I’m losing 25-35 yards on my club? I understand the ball not having as much spin but losing that many yards is just unrealistic. And the miss hits don’t make sense either. If I barely miss hit it I lose 40 yards and it just goes to where the ball started.

Ticketed Tourneys Broken

RP points system broken. Scored four birdies with a match win, which based on scoring should have netted +220 RP (200 for win + 5 for each birdie). Only received +190. LOVE this game and have been playing non-stop. Bots need to be more predictable (I.e. more challenging in tougher tournaments). They are all over the place. Sometimes they shoot 1 under, sometimes they shoot 5 under. No rhyme or reason, kind of like real golf, but VERY frustrating when you have to win so many tournaments to get enough tickets to play the “ticketed tournaments” with chests. Once you get enough to enter, you could win by shooting 2 under, or with that same score could end up getting crushed by the randomized AI. Time, effort, and skill should reward chests, not randomization. Also, you should get chests for winning ranked matches online. It takes FOREVER, to unlock new clubs and upgrade even the basic ones. Need more opportunities outside weekly events and single player tourneys to unlock new clubs.

Unbalanced, difficult, and designed for you to fail

Editing a previous review. This is a fun golf game with interesting physics, and it looks great. But it has serious inconsistencies that make it unplayable after the first couple of hours. Even if you play a course for a whole day, you will never get better at it. The wind is unpredictable and you cannot drive against it; sometimes the wind speed and direction actually pushes the ball how it should, and other times the same exact wind will do almost nothing. The same goes for putting - there is no way to improve other than guesswork on your next trajectory and putting speed. You should be able to fast-forward during shots, or at least pause and quit. I have no idea why the pause button disappears as a ball is in the air because you know when it's a bad shot, and nobody wants to stand around waiting for it to stop to restart. There's a lot of restarting in this game since the courses become borderline impossible to win as you get better. The game is rigged against you. It looks pretty and plays well, but it's still a money-maker. They want you to give up and pay for tickets so you can upgrade your clubs (because you will grind forever to earn them for free). This is no better than those lazy pay-to-play apps with a bit of soft art and sound design. It's not worth the frustration. Until they address some issues and balance the game to curb the difficulty wall you will hit, I quit.

Best golf game no question

This game is truly amazing and I can’t wait to see how much better the game could get over time. There’s a whole lot of amazing things in the game and it is really such a enjoyable experience to play. I have a few recommendations and other things I’d like to mention. I’d like to see more clubs being added. Tbh the rarity of the clubs dosent even matter cuz the gold ones are literally the same, stats wise, as the other clubs. Also the different putter options are pointless cuz they don’t have any perk. One more thing is the swipe meter. When I swing with some of my irons when I go into a full backswing and I swipe my finger really hard the results will still sometimes be really low shot speeds and my ball ends up in the water/ bunker. Overall amazing game and I can’t wait to see how far it goes!

Great game but…

I absolutely love this game. I do not typically enjoy mobile games but I particularly enjoy this game. Love all the courses and the dynamics and function the game provides but however I find the game to be a little too challenging when it comes to the AI. I’m all for a game the provides a fair but fun bit of obstacle but it’s mildly frustrating how unpredictable the AI can score on tournaments. It has happened multiple times where I think I’m comfortably in the lead and all of sudden the 2 different AI’s eagle or hole in one to beat me. I wish the AI was not as hard or it would be a little easier to acquire chests for better clubs and upgrade your clubs. It’s hard to get tickets when the AI’s play like prime tiger on the last hole. Other than that I really love the game and will continue to play it despite the frustration
