Fantastic Game
Sat Sep 27 2025 Northern Spring

I’ve been getting into more mobile games as of late, and this is by far one of the best designed I’ve seen lately. I’ll get the important note out of the way first. The one time payment that’s like $9 is worth it. I played through the demo fully two times. And the demo alone was entertaining enough as it was. So I thought “eh why not” and bought the full game. And I’m glad I did The mechanics of the game are really really well thought out and a lot of it feels very balanced. The new game modes you unlock the more you play just add to me wanting to keep coming back and playing more. The later levels can become pretty tough, and sometimes the RNG for the dice can feel frustrating especially when it comes down to the wire in tense higher levels. But there’s enough strategy to make the RNG of the dice not feel too annoying. If I have one thing I’d love to see added to the game, it would be a game mode where you can keep the same characters through each level up. Because sometimes I want to keep abilities certain characters have but I lose them when I level up and it’s usually not worth it to forgo the level up just for one ability. Also having more options to allow you to switch/choose placements of abilities on the die faces could be cool. Maybe these already exist and I haven’t discovered them yet, but if they don’t I’d love to see them become features. Overall, if you’re looking for a good roguelike, this is definitely a game that’s worth a try.

Incredible game design

The full game costs about $9, but it’s a price point I would compare to something like Balatro or Plague Inc. You get more than what you pay for, and the demo is more than sufficient to figure out the game and decide whether or not to play more. It’s a brilliantly designed game. The market for idle turn based rpg’s is absolutely over saturated, but the mechanics of this game make it completely unique. It’s simple enough to grasp quickly and instinctively, yet complex enough to stay entertaining and keep offering new synergies between mechanics and new strategies. That balance of simplicity and complexity is so rare, and so satisfying. It can get a little repetitive, but what game doesn’t? Take a break, come back later, try a new strategy, and you’ll fall right back in. Try the demo, and if you like it, you won’t regret buying the full version.

Excellent but Unbalanced

This game has great mechanics. It has a good balance between rng & strategy. The more you learn about different abilities & synergies & how they work, the more you realize how the deep yet simple the game is. The problem lies within the balancing between the heroes & enemies. A lot of the heroes don’t do enough damage imo & too many enemies have summoning capabilities which can almost guarantee an end to your run. Even with the perfect team & great items, you can get overwhelmed really quickly. I think this is such an issue because the little minions that bigger enemies spawn do so much damage. The skeletons have to be the worst ones as they do 4 damage which is A LOT in this game. I think enemies that are summoned should do 2 damage at best & I also believe that enemies shouldn’t be able to spawn new ones at all as there are too many in the game. Besides the balancing issues, this game has a good amount of modes & heroes too keep the game fresh. I’d recommend buying the full game despite the balancing issues.

As close to a perfect game as you can get.

When I initially downloaded the game and saw that there was a full version for 8.99, I was a bit disappointed, and never thought I’d end up buying it. That changed very quickly after playing the demo, and it has been the best 8.99 I have spent in a long long time. Everything about this game is superb. The art, the sound design, items, characters, game modes, curses and blessing, everything is just extraordinarily thought out and meshes so perfectly to create one of the most fun mobile games I have played. Each run feels like an entirely new game given the variety of characters and items. It’s clear that the devs not only care about this game (something that is itself a rarity nowadays), but are truly passionate about designing and delivering only the best for the player base. Thank you.

Only Mobile Game I’ve Ever Bought

This game is seriously great. I got the free version and played it for a couple weeks and I was nowhere near getting bored of it. And since this game has no ads and no cheap gimmick, it was easy to keep playing because I hate games that are just ad farms. This game relies solely on the fact that you will enjoy the game enough to purchase the full game, and I do not regret spending the money to get more from these creators. Upon purchasing the give you more game modes and tons of unlockable items, enemies, and more modes. And they have a whole text base system to implement whatever mods you want in the creative mode, that go much more in depth than I thought possible with a mobile game. This game is what more mobile games should be like and it really is a rare gem among mobile games.

Daily play

I have never come back to a game over and over this much since Solitaire. I know that makes me sound old, but that’s a thing I’d do every night before bed. I have so many other apps, things I’ve played a few times, maybe even a lot! Most of them lose their allure after getting too repetitive. Or maybe I don’t want to play an online match for 5 minutes or longer. Or maybe it’s hard to pick back up in the middle of where I left off. Not here. There are so many game modes, so many little tweaks you can apply, difficulty settings to try, but it’s all cleanly presented and easy to pick up and put down. And did you notice they don’t collect your data? If you have any interest in dice games or rouge likes, you will definitely enjoy this game.

Excellent Yahtzee Roguelike

An excellent roguelike that is worth the in-app purchase to upgrade. The game is strategic and can be quite challenging, if you’re looking for that. There’s loads of depth to the synergies and classes. The items can feel a little out-of-balance, sometimes defining the run’s success and other times collecting dust in the inventory. But since it is a roguelike, that kind of variance is to be expected and even embraced. The mobile implementation is one of the best I have played for this kind of game. It can be played portrait or landscape, which both feel good. Tap-to-hold and other UX are well done and if you ever make a mistake, you can just undo. Unlike some other mobile turned-based/boardgame-esque games, you’re never really fighting the controls and you aren’t put in a position where a mis-press can end your run. Ultimately, it’s worth the free download just to check out. The tutorial in the 3.0 helps fill in the gaps and makes it’s easier to understand what’s going on. There’s a certain charm to this game and the brief text descriptions and chunky pixel art make it feel almost like a port of an old Gameboy game (except for the 3D dice).

Addicting but rigid character upgrades
Tue Jun 18 2024 riveropolis

This game is easy to pick up and hard to put down. The gameplay loop is insanely addicting and the items and pretty varied and interesting. That said, the character upgrades are sometimes downgrades in terms of stats and abilities and force you into a certain class. For example, spellblade is an interesting mid-tier orange class that became even better with the 1-pip cantrip item, but could only be upgraded into an archer for the final upgrade. It’d be nice to have an option to either upgrade the stats of the current character OR choose a different class. A high level dagger-wielding rogue that throws daggers into the back row and specializes in poison would also be a nice option, as orange seems to only become archers. The wizard specializes in strengthening others, but what about AoR fireballs?
