Title: Unexpected Gem – A Must-Try Mobile Game! Review: I'm typically a PC gamer, but stumbling upon this mobile game was a delightful surprise. After trying the free version and enjoying one level, I decided to invest in the ad-free experience, and it turned out to be the best $3.50 I've ever spent! The game's difficulty adds to the thrill, and after just a few runs, I managed to conquer it using the deer character. The build I had going was super fun but also incredibly overpowered. I had a super point blank shotgun I got after a boss. I took a upgrade that made me bigger which usually wouldn’t be favorable. However, when you transform into the deer you become invincible and deal 100 dmg(which is a lot!). It also gave me additional speed which I had synergizing with a few other abilities. This game is amazing! One aspect I appreciate is the fair pace at which unlock points are earned. It strikes a nice balance, making the progression feel rewarding without being overly challenging. The game offers a plethora of characters and guns to explore, keeping the replayability factor high. I've had an absolute blast diving into the various options and finding unique combinations. Overall, this mobile game has become a go-to source of entertainment, and I highly recommend it to fellow gamers looking for a fresh and engaging experience!
It’s genuinely difficult to find a game with this much love and effort put behind it. The mechanics are well made for the most part and you can unlock nearly everything for free. That said, there’s a few things that I feel weren’t done quite right from a player perspective. First, locking unlocks behind ads, when it’s just one or two I don’t mind and have gladly watched a couple to check something out. However, almost no one wants to sit down and watch 20 ads just for a single unlock, especially if it doesn’t count towards other unlocks that require you to watch ads. Now, in terms of gameplay the game is mostly well balanced. That said, the boss health scaling in Endless is insane. By the time I’m 10 minutes into a run it’s basically a necessity to have % damage in order to kill it before the next boss spawns. On top of this scaling, bosses begin to spawn with resistances, which paired with the scaling makes it near impossible to kill bosses before another stronger one appears. Other than those two things I have no problems with the game and have been enjoying it so far, even with the absurd health scaling in endless so I can’t really bring myself to lower to 4 stars just because of those.
The game itself is really solid. Level up mechanics are great and leads to a different experience each time you play the game. Every character is fun, and I got every achievement in the free version before I decided to buy the full version. But, the most fun character is the first one you get. This is solely due to the triple level up effect buff that she gets. It gives the player the most choice and allows for some crazy stuff fun shenanigans that you can experiment with in each new run. It alone accounts for the most replay ability value. This is why this buff should be available for every character in some way. Make it a random drop that, or add a new mini boss that could drop it for any character. Add a new difficulty that makes the addition balanced. The triple, or even just a double, effect makes each game far more chaotic (in a good way), and this would make an endless mode (which should be added irrespective of this review) even more fun. Also wish there was a level 20 darkness. since the game itself is called 20 minutes till dawn it’s kinda weird the hardest difficulty is 15 and not 20. Despite my gripes, the game already has hours upon hours of fun content to get lost in. Appreciated the Christmas monster costumes too, love Easter eggs like that. Really great game and look forward to updates to come.
This game is one of the best in its special niche genre because it offers great perks that have cool synergies, and it offers short enough game times for a bus ride or something like that. Also, any ads it shows are ones the player chooses to watch instead of random ads, so that’s quite nice. However, a couple of things bring down the experience slightly: The second boss is obnoxious, and its design completely clashes with how you’re supposed to play the game. The boss arena corrals you into one small area that quickly fills up with enemies, making it impossible to dodge, meaning you are forced to take damage and leave this arena, or else die. Also, this boss has a charge attack, where he runs towards you at high speeds. Since shooting your gun slows you down, if you are shooting at the wrong time, he will inevitably hit you since his hitbox is enormous and he charges such a distance. He should either be tweaked to be less powerful or removed entirely in my opinion. Secondly, I feel like the inclusion of unlimited respawns has removed a lot of the feeling of accomplishment that used to be in the game, since there are literally no penalties for dying anymore. I understand that the devs implemented this to make more money, but it hinders the satisfaction of beating a level.
The game is fantastic. Plain and simple. It’s easy enough to get the hang of, but not easy to master. It’s simple, but not bland. All of the characters can be unlocked PERMANENTLY with ads or tokens that you earn by playing. All of the weapons can be unlocked PERMANENTLY with ads or tokens. Many cosmetics are available for watching x# of ads. There are multiple maps. My main complaint is the low contrast. With all of the effects happening on the screen, it can get difficult to tell where I am and what’s going on. I do wish there was a “color swap” option (or additional palettes in the store!) to accomplish players with less-than-stellar eyesight and low vision disabilities (if there’s already an option, obviously I missed it). But other than that, the game is phenomenal. Genuinely one of the best games I’ve played this year. Unique, fun, and something I’ll be keeping on my phone for a while.
This game is far more janky and money-hungry than it was when it first released. The main reason I downloaded this is because I signed up pre-release on the google play store, and really enjoyed it when it first launched. The characters and guns that used to be unlocked with in-game currency forces you to instead watch several ads consecutively just to unlock it. The amount of currency you received from playing has been decreased by a ludicrous amount. The hit boxes for characters are absolutely cheap, the hitbox is too big for your character and it’s insanely easy to get stunned and bounced around by enemies until you und up dead. Even with maxed out rune upgrades it’s still easy to get overrun, with nowhere near enough time or damage to counteract the enemy zerging. It’s such a huge disappointment that you all decided that profit meant more to you than having a good game. The developers have turned an awesome and time killing survival rougelike into the equivalent of those intentionally rigged carnival games. A serious disappointment, and an asinine fall from grace. Don’t waste your time playing this shell of a game.
It’s a very good game in fact I like it played but I know where it is I was on a plane flight but I couldn’t really play it so I had to drawl my iPad that was bad but whatever but what I really really really hate is that the twilight upgrade thing before like that but I don’t like about it is that you need a Nadias and I actually like it in the toilet upgrade when I start so I have a pet story but it’s very hard to get out of the ad and I didn’t mean to say toilet upgrade and all the other stuff that like the Nadias and Mom toilet that’s what I meant to say anyways the ads are really long and you can’t really do anything so that’s very bad and I’m gonna start it but what I don’t like is it takes like so long to get into like the photo be very exciting you need to be on the eight minutes like eight minutes left and I think that just ruins the entire game because if they got like a faster upgrade then I could get into more so that’s why I read it three stars or maybe four
I went on a stint of getting and playing every game similar to vampire survivors a bit ago and I am so surprised I didn’t hear of this game till now!? I will say as a free user; tons of ads. However, It is also nice to have the option to revive and get other options for free by watching said ads. It feels like your advertised to legitimately every 5 mins of game time. That being said, characters are cool, the upgrades seem cool. I enjoyed my lightening/summon build on Lilith with dual smgs. I want to try the other characters but yeah watching 5 straight mins of ads to be able to try them to, then be advertised to again every 5 mins in game seems a bit excessive. With these types of games, being distracted late game makes the game lose immersion and putting my phone down and doing something else during the ad time then coming back to the game 30sec later through 3 screens, definitely is a distraction
