Indian Summer is a beautiful, tranquil puzzle experience that hides a surprisingly deep layer of strategy. As the second entry in Uwe Rosenberg's puzzle trilogy, it focuses on filling your forest floor with colorful autumn leaves. The polyomino tile-placement is satisfyingly tactile, even on a screen, and the way you 'peek' through the holes in the leaves to collect treasures is a clever twist.
It feels much faster and more aggressive than its predecessor, Cottage Garden. You are constantly racing to finish sections of your board to gain special actions like the 'Squirrel' or the 'Rake.' The solo mode is particularly strong, offering a meditative but challenging way to engage with the mechanics. Visually, it's stunning, capturing the warm hues of a late autumn forest perfectly.

Tactical tile-placement mechanics
When placing a leaf tile, ensure the hole in the tile sits over a treasure icon on your board. This allows you to harvest that treasure once the tile is placed.
Save your 'Berries' to replenish your tile supply when you're stuck. Using the 'Rake' allows you to place two tiles in one turn, which is essential for winning the race.
Yes, it is the second game in the trilogy, featuring more complex rules and faster gameplay.
Would be nice to have the option to join or create ranked games that have more time limit options. Only being able to play with 24 time takes way too long and hard to remember strategy of play. Also I’ve only been playing for two weeks and already beat Hard level AI with 1 all the way up to 3 AIs at hard level. Maybe increase difficulty??? Time of AI’s turn is slow. I love the game! Would be 5 out of 5 if it had more options with playing ranked games. Just some ideas to make it more fun and challenging .
Game hangs on loading screen for casual offline game against a single AI on iPhone 11 Pro iOS 15.1. I bought it and I can’t play it. It works on my iPad, however.
I had to do the tutorial three times, study the board game rules and play a couple games before it all clicked, but once I got the hang of it I love it! Challenging but not frustrating. And no IAP, just a fair price up front. Great job developer, thank you! My only caveat would be, this is best played on an iPad or larger iPhone, otherwise everything might be too small to see for some people. But the use of space is very well done. This is a great game.
Not enough reviews on this! I think this is my favorite game of the trio of Patchwork, cottage garden, and this. Like the other games, The hardest AI level is very challenging. Definitely worth taking up for the five bucks. I’ve already gone hours of entertainment out of the other two games and will definitely get the same out of this one. Nice peaceful game to take your mind away from the world. Digidice makes great games!!!
I play this game against the CPU/AI and have a blast. The AI on Hard is very smart/challenging and I always enjoy a quick game before bed. I typically do not play it in multiplayer as frequently as I do single player, but I do very much enjoy my time with this app.
On iPhone 11, whenever I try to use the bush piece my phone interprets the swipe up from the bottom of the screen as trying to swipe out of the app. I have to flip phone vertical and wait for orientation to change so I can select it, which is tedious. I tried to contact support in the app (failed to send) and by email (also invalid and failed). Do not recommend unless fixed.
Just that…cool gameplay but while playing online, it will often freeze either while loading game or while choosing tile. Annoying because sometimes it requires several restarts. I’m in the middle of one now so I decided to write a review to get the game designers attention.
This game is littered with bugs that make it almost unplayable. Certain actions like feather and mushroom cannot be taken. End game acorn placement is messed up. This needs to be taken down until the developers can fix it.
