Game of Thrones: Conquest is a standard mobile 4X strategy game with a very high-quality GoT coat of paint. If you’ve played games like Mobile Strike or Game of War, you’ll feel right at home. The 'Allegiance' system is the highlight, allowing you to create a hierarchy of lords and bannermen that mirrors the social structure of the show.

The game relies heavily on social interaction and joining a powerful alliance is essential for survival. It can be quite competitive and aggressive, which fits the theme of Westeros. While it can become pay-to-win at the highest levels of play, the early game of building your castle and recruiting heroes is quite engaging for fans of the series.

Update- wrote original review a couple of years ago. There used to be a way to work the events so even strict f2p, you could be patient, run completely counter to most clans’ clueless big spenders’ idea of f2p advice and work the events and still build an account strong enough to have fun for about a year with. Whether it’s due to just the sheer volume of new gear sets every month and repeat players literally dropping $100k or so in the first months to max early, or if the game devs messed with the probabilities under the hood, it’s no longer possible. You can get a middling account at best and somewhat keep pace, but it’s hard to participate in pvp gameplay that way even if you know what you’re doing. You can have fun without spending a fortune only for about a month or until the first recap month, and then it’s toast when people in your first merge kingdom catch the stats of people in 7 year old kingdoms. It’s ridiculous. Old review- still valid: Not only is this game an utterly shameless money grab that makes no effort whatsoever to correct for major imbalances, WB Games recently allowed their own personal transactional system mistake to be massively exploited, then did absolutely nothing to correct for the resulting major imbalances in events and gameplay, completely screwing people who behaved normally. This app does not deserve your time or money, which it will try to get both of in copious quantities.

Do not download this game unless you are willing to spend a ton of money. Free players can never make any significant progress in this game. If you do spend money it is very likely you will have everything you purchase lost because of game errors. This is the glitchiest game I have ever played, and customer service is horrible/ non-existent. They get so many complaints that it took them 3 weeks to respond to a ticket I submitted because of losing about a month’s worth of progress from an error in their game. After waiting 3 weeks and sending in multiple tickets they responded to me only after I told them I would be calling apple to get my money back, they literally responded to me within hours, showing that they were clearly ignoring me. After that, they gave me basically nothing to compensate me for the game error even though I have spent hundreds of dollars and it was completely their fault. When I tried to explain my situation they basically told me I was SOL and closed my ticket so I couldn’t respond to them anymore. I have friends in the game constantly complaining about glitches as well (shields go down way before the timer runs out for no reason, cancelled marches can go on without notification and kill all of your troops, when they update you get locked out of your account for days because they have an issue with the App Store, the notifications don’t pop up when you are being attacked ect. ect. ect. I could go on for days) My suggestion to anyone who has spent money on this game is to call apple or google play and get your money back, and anyone who is thinking about playing this game, don’t.

Don’t get me wrong. I have fun playing this game. I’m still playing it now. I’ve just come to realize that by the time you get to the rank that everybody is when a PVP event comes around the winners always going to be a play player. It’s hard. The game is fun and very enjoyable, they give you free things in the beginning give you enough food to upgrade everything they give you the option to get stuff upgraded for free but eventually you hit a point where you’re gonna need like 10 million of everything to level up your keep at that point you can’t even compete with the players that are level 26 by week two because they pay for everything the honest truth about this game is have fun but the only way you’re going to be able to do it is by paying to play the people that call you baby and tell you to stop whining when you voice that in chat you can have fun by not paying and be behind everyone else and make no progress capture no seats or you can pay money to advance and at some point you’re going to have to it’s just a hard truth if you wanna play and enjoy the game you’re going to just have to pay and even when you do pay you just have to keep paying more and more to the point where you’re 5000 dollars in and you haven’t even reached level 20 I don’t know I’m not saying that the game is bad. I’m just saying it’s a money pit.

Appreciation but disappointment

WB is great at Movie making and they need to stick with that. While this game is beautiful and can be a joy to play. They have allowed scam rings to infiltrate and have done nothing to stop it. They do not look at the way people play the game before merging kingdoms. In doing things in this way, it allows for quite a bit of bullying tactics. People with billions and billions of power that have sunk money into the Game and bought other keeps, which is against their terms of service as well and then turn around and hit people that might have 2 million in power and are free to play. I am trying to disconnect this game from my Apple account, which it was bound to and I’m being told there are charges and they won’t even help me figure out what it is. I looked on my Apple account found the charges, but they’re saying there is something through xsolla and when I asked about it, they left me hanging so now I have put in a help ticket through xsolla and yet again through WB. This is my third try. It is crazy to me how a company that has so much money at their disposal, wants to try and get into the gaming world only to disappoint the people that truly would be fan favorites, but now has me questioning, even watching the things they create for television or the movie theater. I highly recommend that Apple remove this game from their service.

The game is very addicting and fun when you first start. There are several events that come and go and give good rewards. The graphics are are decent for a mobile game and there’s a lot of content to play through. As you progress in levels it gets very difficult to do anything without making purchases, which I do understand that the game needs to make money, but that puts the players who cannot spend $20-$50+ often at the very bottom. Also, there are many high level players that will CONSISTENTLY bully others with no hesitation. The bullying may vary from kingdom to kingdom, but don’t be surprised if you see yourself or a player being bullied. As several other players have said, it is a very unwelcoming community, but there are some decent players that will make the game a little bit more tolerable. Another issue with this game is the attention you need to give it throughout your day. Higher level players will most likely reset what other players have worked very hard for or purchased, in this case it would be resources (food, wood, etc.), and without being attentive, the player cannot know when someone is about to attack their keep, which in the end means that the average person who works and has a busy schedule will not succeed in this game by any means. Based on what I have experience myself and seen, it’s a playable game to an extent but not worth investing your time unless you want to invest your money on it. Download and play for yourself.

I’m sure it’s been said “if I could give it 0 or negative stars, I would” but I’ll risk repeating it. Close the App Store and run, without looking back. I downloaded this over a year ago. While they have found fixes for bugs, those fixes have always cause another. Generally worse than what was being repaired. The price to be competitive is astronomical and with every passing month, they teach customer service to be less and less interested or understanding, despite that knowledge. They are completely aware of game play issues and still pretend like everything is a-okay. In decades of apps, I’ve never downloaded something with as many quality issues as this game, nor have any cost half as much to play. It’s mind boggling how they get away with it. We are talking the price of at least a fixer-upper investment property dumped into a game that you cannot recover, with customer service taught to shrug you off when glitches cost you hundreds of dollars. In the real world you could dispute transactions for such shoddy offerings but you can’t risk that here. If I could upload screenshots of their customer service in action, I would. Also, the 4.3* is misleading. You can see negative comments with 5* ratings so check those out before being mislead by the more than 4* ranking. The game was a good idea. Could be good. But it currently flat out fails at being worth your time and hard earned money. Just don’t do it. There should be a class action suit here.

Great game but NOT secure

The game is fun and addicting. Really feels like game of thrones in a game. I’ve been playing for over a year and made friends in my alliance and the kingdom. The only downside is be careful with your account. It can get stolen and WB can’t even determine the right owner to return it to. I play in now a merged kingdom 548. An account named Adela was stolen by another player. he wrote to WB to get access back to his account and he got it back for a couple days which is great. Then suddenly for some reason WB returned his account to the THIEF! Also to give you an idea of how expensive the stolen account is I wanna add that the stolen account is a K35, great stats, with a fully grown dragon. And if you have No idea about this game—we’re not talking just 5K-25K, these are cheaper accounts. It can be very expensive to play this game to only lose your account like that. If you’re playing for a very long time and have receipts in their system other than your own copies in your game account and card on your payments on pack buying you would expect them to know you’re the real account owner to return the account to. But instead WB returned this owner’s account to the thief! It’s very disappointing when you’re playing and see the stolen account around the kingdom.. the thief is enjoying an expensive stolen account. While the real owner who played in that account for over a year and spent a ton of money on it is empty handed now.

If you don’t have money to spend don’t download this game, it’s not worth it, they have it so unbalanced that the game itself has a limited shelf life, (meaning writhing a couple more years it won’t be playable anymore) meaning WB will do everything they can to take as much money from you as possible until then, so do yourself a favor and find a different game this one will make your heart stop beating with how mad it will make you, spent 100$ one of the big packs on building t8 seige for the sop event one weekend and as soon as the new section of sops opened up on the map I went for a non owned sop worth 3.5 stars I had the attacker title I needed and the troops to do so, but a glitch in the game cost me 170k reinforced trebuchet (150,000 gold) when I sent my three waves of seige to bring down the sop wall I lost everyone of them to an “empty sop” there game glitched and killed my troops when there was no one inside the sop to begin with, a very costly attack. Nonetheless that’s just one of the very stupid reasons to not download this game I hope it helps. If they would fix the bugs and balance the big power houses out so they can’t just simply lvl a weaker non spending player unless they to have money then the game would be a lot better but until they make it fair for the non spenders it will always only be a game for those with 1500$ available to spend each week and I mean that, there’s people dropping 10-30k$$ a month on some kingdoms so really think about that before joining,
