From Rise of Kingdoms to Clash of Clans, Civ, and Age of Empires, I’ve put significant time into nearly every variation of the current mobile RTS structured template. What may differ here and there is generally overshadowed by copy/paste controls and gatcha stylized events. And in terms of controls and navigation itself, VrV is no exception. However, this feels more like an intentional strategy put in place by IGG in order to help mitigate the players initial learning curve, then it does a cut corner. For starters, VrV genuinely has a FtP option that doesn’t exploit years of your time with very little progress. What can be purchased here is on average about an hour of FtP effort. And one can argue that achievement earned is half the appeal of the RTS gaming experience to begin with. VrV is more focused on immersing you within its intricately woven, and flawlessly designed world. For example, rather than a small isolated area of land, VrV gives you control of an extensively designed kingdom, over time. You’ll begin to occupy enemy villages across a vast, open and accessible land, whose citizens will in turn become loyal to you. Not to mention that virtually all of it is customizable to your liking. Its UI alone deserves countless award nods. From the wild life behavior, atmosphere, and even reactivity to light, EVERYTHING feels as if it were decades in development.
Hello there dev team for starters I hope your having a good day, (Gameplay) Overall the game runs clean easy and smooth, learning is easy and if your willing to give a little bit of time then the game really rewards you for that, furthermore if you like (AoE) this game adds that effect to that, (combat) is simple, I have yet to try player vs player, however I don’t fancy it in games like this. I gave this review for a few reasons, 1. Rewards the games seems to give constant rewards as you play 2. The development team and the people who put time into doing the voice overs, 3. Style 4. Combat and 5. Its well polished and given love. I really hope you developers keep giving it your all and do things YOU want, make changes for good not for worse keep the balancing up and allow everyone to get everything at a reasonable rate I.E free to play and pay to win, allow elevation to either side and make it compete-able but never forget to do it in your own way, as for the rest of you players who enjoy or want to enjoy the game please give proper feedback and allow games like this to grow in good ways recommend this to your friends family and strangers dive into it and become a worthy champion!! Thanks for your time and the patience to read my review!
I have been playing this game for a long time now, and while this is definitely a great game, if you want to make it into the elite group of players (R4s for the top tribe)on your kingdom (which I have gone in and out of), you need to either spend a few hundred dollars to get an enormous amount of might (strength) or be online for 8+ hours a day. Also worth mentioning is many tribes in top positions require their players to join the tribe’s group on social media like discord and telegram, which turns away a lot of younger aged players. Another problem with the top tribes is by the third week in a kingdom, only the top 2-3 tribes will actually have active players, as a resulting of the top tribes destroying the smaller one for their own power. For these reasons, I agree with many of the more senior players that this game is passing its prime, even with the new collab events and hero skins. I hope the devs will make more incentives for the bigger tribes to allow the smaller ones to grow, and not make ghost kingdoms like I have started seeing. Otherwise, this is a great game, and I look forward to what comes next. To Valhalla!
EXTREMELY fun at first: great graphics, very generous with gold, resources, and space; LOTS of different things to do that keeps the game fresh and interesting; HOWEVER, after some time everything becomes repetitious. E.G. tasks to send workers on, fun to look for at first, then after just the right amount of time they begin pointing out all the different tasks. You think ‘great! Good move by the game-maker’s, I was starting to bore of looking around (albeit the rewards are substantial). But then that gets old: they take you around the streets to all the errands needing done, you point, click, then click gather-for EACH task. JUST HAVE a sign to click once: SEND WORKERS ON ERRANDS! Ugh! And it’s that way with Eagle Scout discoveries (I forget what it’s called, but again, it pays great dividends—just gets old after a while, sigh. And there is an attack map that gets old, too, after a while. You’re having to do all this clicking that originally was beautiful in order to collect enough goods to build buildings and make troops. I’m a geek who enjoys keeping files, but choosing AND equipping the leaders with the correct skills is way too much studying/research if you’re going to do the job right. I made mistakes BOTH times I played the game: and I keep notes. I’d like to love it, but I’m quitting. And it’s a shame because I feel the makers put a lot more effort into this game than most of the other game makers.
I have spent lots of money on this game. Battle of the ruins did not match any tribes properly, and my tribe [Raze] deserves a walkover in the event. The kingdoms are in an uproar about the intense mismatches of the battle of the ruins. Im leaving five stars because I genuinely love the game, but I’m leaving a bitter note because I was promised, by the developers, that my tribe would walk over the event if there were no tribes around mine’s power to match with. My 33 million might tribe was paired against a 172 million might tribe and I’m very disappointed that I’ve made so many preparations, used so many heals, and drained my tribespeople so much so that we need days to recover. $20-$30 worth of instant healing went down the drain today without a chance. I’ve stayed up all night until dawn I just celebrated someone’s birthday I’m so tired. But I forced myself to stay awake because I love this game so much just to get shot in the face with the worst pvp event algorithm I’ve ever seen in any game ever.
Great graphics, good storyline, character development and wonderful intro. However, by the time you get invested after about a week you quickly realize that there are people who drop huge money on this game and you simply cannot compete. There is no player guide and the help from AI and support almost seems to deliberately mislead you. There are hidden elements and definitions that are completely misleading. I had an issue, support said “explore some more” after millions of resources were stolen with no attack. The chat is filled with vulgarity, comments about raping people in real life and the “support” reports don’t mean anything, because VR is making huge, huge money off people willing to drop a thousand bucks easy on this game just to start. There’s no “winning’ unless you pay huge, or play 10 hours a day just to stay alive. turns miserable quickly, and if you “join a powerful tribe” you will be required often to play every 12 or 24 hours —Daily or you are removed. Small new players are devoured, and there’s no realistic way to figure this out except by trial and error. But the errors cost money to come back. And that’s what VR knows, and obviously don’t care about.
Beautiful collation of resource gathering, heroes with unique skills, and town building. The graphics are top notch; the attention to details in terms of structures, seasons, and heroes/armies is sublime and also artistic. The game gets slower as you advance; like any other similar game but when you get in to a Tribe it gets a lot more fun. You can rally to different creatures with your tribe members and build special abilities and structures that make your territory stronger. There are daily and weekly events that keep it exciting. The more you play the more enjoyable it gets. This game is, and I’m not exaggerating, a perfect execution of a multi player hero game. In addition, you don’t have to pay for play, you can get a lot of resources and exp if you are part of a tribe. So make sure join one. The game is so much fun and quality and full of details that I actually bought few gems/bundles to support the developers.
Love the game play until I got to the purchase part the prices seemed great but they tried to triple charge me on a $49..99 purchase and also when you authorize one price they regularly add a few dollars to each purchase without notifying you in advance you just later get the surprise on your credit card bill and customer service is horrible when I used the items I purchased for random items I got the same item something useless 27 times in a row they refused to do anything about it so they basically scam you and don’t care about making customers upset so if you play this game I my advice is there’s a good chance you will get scammed if you makes purchases but it is possible to play without buying anything it’s just very slow progress
