Exploding Kittens on Netflix is the definitive way to play this beloved card game on mobile. The biggest advantage here is the removal of all microtransactions—if you have a Netflix sub, you get the whole game, which is a breath of fresh air. The interface is dripping with the humor of The Oatmeal, and the animations for the various cards are genuinely funny.

Online play is robust and finding a match is usually very quick. What I love most is how the game captures the 'take-that' social dynamic of the physical version. Using a 'See the Future' card followed by an 'Alter the Future' to screw over your friend is just as satisfying digitally. Plus, this version includes exclusive cards that you won't find in the standard tabletop deck, giving even long-time fans something new to discover. It’s easily one of the best value-adds in the Netflix Games catalog.

Managing Your Defuse

Your Defuse card is your most valuable asset. Don't use it until you absolutely have to. Use your 'Skip' or 'Attack' cards early to force others to draw and potentially waste their own Defuses first.

Fun game but too many glitches

Super fun game and easy to play however there’s too many glitches. 1. Having to leave the game bc it just stops working 2. Will play a card for you when you didn’t want to 3. Will draw a card for you before the time is even up 4. Won’t always let you “nope” a player even though you had it ready/will sometimes let you use the “nope” card and then won’t actually work. Please fix it :)

Bugs make app unplayable

I've been playing this game a while now and I've come to realize that it was not play tested at all because there are several obvious bugs that ought to have been patched that are not. Some of these bugs include but are NOT limited to; armagadon sometimes soft locking the game, nope not working if it's use late but still getting consumed, the fact that you can't nope armageddon if it's used on you (due to the pop-up preventing you from seeing your cards), the lack of a filter for the display names, a rare but often enough to be annoying bug where you still have to pick a card after defusing an exploding kitten, the turn timer continuing to run when the player exploded pop up is happening, and other bugs I'm probably forgetting. I love the exploding kittens series but these bugs make me not want to play anymore, and based on other reveiws these bugs have been here for a long time. I'm very disapointed

So, definitely seen this mentioned, but seriously. Months later that I’m saying this too. The Armageddon card, if you play it against ONE person (late game, last two standing), it bugs out the game and doesn’t let you or your opponent do anything. Also the nope card, if you can use it fast enough great, if you don’t though, it will get rid of the card without using its proper effect. Or any effect really. So it gets a little bit annoying for sure. But the game overall is just like the card game but I have a lot of fun with this game despite the glitches.

Fun, except…

This game is really fun. Only problem is that occasionally the Armageddon card crashes the whole game. Many times it’s a final hail mary card that gets played to determine the winner, so it’s very frustrating when it crashes the game and then there’s no winner. I thought it was a me problem, so I upgraded my ipad but it still happens. There’s also a flaw where if someone steals your card really fast, you don’t even have the option to use your Nope card. It would be cool if they introduced a couple more fun cards into the mix, but otherwise it’s super fun and I highly recommend.

Overall I’ve recently gotten in the exploding kittens game/universe because of the Netflix series, I used this app for a week and had no complications honestly, it hyped me up so much, I went to buy the original exploding kittens app and it was buggy with a capital B, I can admire the other decks, and etc I’ve heard about the original. But I think this is a good app, especially until exploding kittens 2 comes out, but it would be nice if they updated this app with the other decks I’ve heard about.

I was questioning getting this app because of the negative comments towards the annoying glitches. I’ve had this game for a while now, and I’ve no problems; no glitches, no ads, nothing. This game has options to play locally, with strangers, or by yourself when you are offline. I would 100% recommend this game for Exploding Kittens lovers. I love it! 🤩🤩🤩

So many frustrating glitches

Fun game but hard to play with glitches such as 1) getting stuck in waiting room and have to leave and come back, sometimes repeatedly, to get into a game, 2) having to leave mid-game because Armageddon glitched and unable to make any more moves, 3) the time-out feature for absent players doesn’t work and can’t continue the game, 4) plays cards from your hand without you selecting them

Good, but crucial bugs

The game is great and all don’t get me wrong. The concept is great, the gameplay is fun and quirky, but theres a major issue setting it back from being great: that being the Nope cards just not working whatsoever. Either it’ll give you the option to lay them down, and it just won’t lay down for some reason, or it will let you lay it down, but it doesn’t do anything whatsoever. If this were to be fixed it could most definitely be 4-5 stars.
