Bug fixes
Voidpet Dungeon has gotten me to play every day for the past 2 months and I don’t really plan on stopping that habit. It’s a nice casual game to play that doesn’t take a lot of brain power until you reach a wall that takes a few days to overcome, which is great. I like that they gave emotions life and personality as the voidpets. The dialogue in the battles is a little corny but what dialogue isn’t in a mobile game. My only complaint would be that you really only have one thing to do a day once you’ve done your daily missions and battle pass, maybe an option to add friends and have clans would be cool, though that’s a very generic thing for games to have. I also love and hate the pricing for in game purchases - I love that they are high because it discourages me from purchasing anything, knowing that it probably wouldn’t be worth it to spend $15 for a single astral egg- of which I’ve opened 12 and had no luck. On the other hand I hate the pricing because it’s too high a price for me to pay for things that I will get for free with patience. In all, great game, and i’m happy to be a part of its journey and evolution. Additionally, I just found that there are hundreds of character icons, all of which are obtainable using gems. There is some really amazing artwork on these profile pictures, and I think it would be great if these were highlighted more, maybe with say “Avatar Eggs” or egg fragments that you get from the daily boss and the battle pass!
When I saw the ads about the game I was intrigued. A game that’s has creatures related to emotions? And it has combat? I was sold! At least, for the first few weeks. After playing the game for a while I noticed a few jarring turn-offs for me. For starters, the story wasn’t as interesting as I’d hoped. The dialogue was a bit too casual for my liking and the lack of visuals really made it hard to follow. I couldn’t get attached to any character. The only time I had a semblance of recognition for one, it was always related to another boss. Not the character themself. Speaking of the boss, the gameplay is very dull. It’s the same thing over and over again. The only variation is your type of voidpets and which ones you use. Either way, the outcome is the same. My suggestion is that the main “gameplay” (if you can even call it that) should be considered training, with a whole new part of the game be dedicated to a new form of gameplay. That way the story can be tweaked and improved while also satisfying the common complaint of dull gameplay. The game isn’t bad by all means, it just needs some massive improvements before you can call it a game.
Game makes no sense my anger and envy have no tank bypassing abilities but for some random reason the ones I’m fighting do and that’s just one example of it. How about we stay consistent on what the Voidpets are able to do instead of magically making the opposing ones do the same ability but with stronger effects. I’ve been having fun with the game but these small things are just ruining it for me. Also there’s practically no chance for ftp players to get the higher form Voidpets. Literally get one egg every few days with a 0.5% chance of getting it??? Or open 300 eggs when you get one every 2 or 3 days during a 30~ day event. Also do you need one specific pet leveled up to beat this one level well you’re going to have to wait 2 days to get the resources for that! And if that’s still not enough to beat it so you gotta level up another one wait another 2 days!!! Oh you finally beat the level? Well this next stage is going to need these Voidpet type advantages or else you just can’t win! Since all the opponent Voidpets have insane scaling! The enemy tanks somehow have insane hp defense and damage and the dealers do even more damage and are still somehow tanky while your dealers deal less damage while somehow getting one tapped by everything even if you fully build them!!! Aw are you missing a Voidpet that fulfills a specific element and role? Toooo baaad you’re just going to have to get lucky using the terrible odds involved with the eggs!!!
Like the game, simple but cute designs. I only really have two problems with it, one of which is only because of how technical I am. The first problem is that, while there are a few things to do, if you get stuck on a level and don’t have enough resources to level up (like I often do for evolution stones and void matter) there’s not really anything you can do other than keep rearranging your team in hopes of doing a little more damage. Basically throwing stuff at at brick wall and being able to do nothing for days until you’re able to level up enough to do enough damage to break through and hole the next wall isn’t infinite heals/shields. My second problem is with stats. I like knowing how things work and being able to see how it all comes together which is pretty annoying when the only description is something like, “increases the amount of health”. Like, increase on what base or how does type affect damage, does it double or half the damage depending if it’s strong/weak? Speaking of damage, how does attack work? Each creature has an “Attack” stat yet its abilities have their own range listed, like 42 for “Tendril Slap” but 60 for “Constricting Vines”. I would just like an option at least in the settings that explains how the stats, type interactions, and effects work numerically.
Genuinely had such high hopes for a game like this with a cute art style unique characters and seemingly fun gameplay however when actually playing the game I was met with a game that is heavily pay to win with a gacha system where the highest quality pull for only one chance is $15, frustrating wait times as every 5 levels that I have played so far has been a waiting game to allow the AFK chest to accumulate resources to use to beat the level — or you could spend money to bypass this chest system and get the materials, and extremely boring monotonous and repetitive tutorial with nothing else to do as the event only allows the player to win once every 24 hours. The characters are bland and forgettable as they only serve the purpose of dialogue with no spice to it, like a main cast consisting purely of NPCs you would find on the side. Coming into this game I would have loved to play it if it wasn’t just the core gameplay due to how unfair it can be at times as the enemies despite being the same as the creatures you collect are significantly stronger than what you have at the same level even going so far as to seemingly double their base HP, this showcases how unbalanced the actual battling system is. Once again I had such ridiculously high hopes for this game only to fall flat. I personally would not recommend this game but you could try it if you wish all that I ask is to refrain from purchasing the seriously scammy micro transactions built into the game.
I had 1 disappointment and 1 genuine problem. My first opinion on the game when I started playing was that it was a fun game with cute characters. It wasn’t super complicated and was still fun (which can be rare to find). Then it came to evolving them: the game expects you to evolve them and your characters seem to get stronger when you do, but they become less cute which made me pretty sad. However, the real problem was when it came to bosses, I’m not talking about the floor levels. There are gifts you receive for fighting extra bosses, however it turns out you need two separate teams. You need your main one and an extra one with characters just as high in level. When you try to level up all of them, you get behind because the game expects you to only be putting in the resources to your main team. You end up loosing either way. Either you don’t make a team (I recommend in hindsight) and you don’t get anything extra, or you do level up an extra 4 characters just to be behind, making it so you can’t win the regular battles and ultimately no longer get any recourses at all since you aren’t winning. However, despite these problems the game is good and pretty fun overall, if you get it just take the advice not to make a second team👍🏻
Best turn based game on mobile i’ve ever played. Rewards are very generous and it’s easy to level up and play. Very nice starter VoidPet selection at the beginning, ended up picking Sad and it’s a very goated VoidPet for team play. I run Sad for the OP isolate debuff that deals CRACKED damage thanks to Sad’s nice base ability that makes it deal increased damage based on the amount of debuffs applied and lowers defensive stats, Salty as my tank for debuff bleed stacks and a tanky shield buff that deals GREAT damage to everything when broken, Envy for buff removal utility and even more debuff stacks with ShadowFlame, and lastly Joy for the heals and increased fire damage boosts which pairs great with Envy’s ShadowFlame. these pets aren’t even legendary nor Epic either, they’re all literally Rares and you’re pretty much guaranteed to get them thanks to the amount of eggs you receive as soon as you start playing the game. sure there’s a better setup out there but so far, I think I may end up taking this team to endgame, they just work so well with each other and it’s a pretty strong team for a small bunch of Rare VoidPets you literally get handed to you off rip. W Game!
I've seen this game from the ads, and I was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't just another cash-grab gacha game, but a well-crafted game that puts a creative spin on emotions. I play this game a little every day, and it's a simple way to spend time. However, after enough levels, it feels kind of slow and repetitive. My voidpets have been leveled up as high as I can currently put them, so now I am just fighting through the story battles since the next milestone for improving my pets is over 100 stages away. This wouldn't be that bad of an issue for me since I got through the levels quickly, but the process gets rather repetitive. I get in match, turn on auto-battle, wait a minute, hit next match, and repeat. What I would love to see is the auto-battle getting an update, where it will stay on if you turn it on. It'll play the level for you, move to the next stage after 3-5 seconds, and just make clearing levels easier until you hit the next milestone. I wanted to send my feedback/suggestion somewhere, but there were no noticeable options, so I opted for the review page. Hopefully the dev team sees this and implements my idea (and a suggestions page in-game) soon 🙏🙏
