Beast Lord: The New Land is a unique spin on the mobile '4X' strategy genre. Instead of commanding medieval knights or sci-fi soldiers, you lead a colony of animals in the wild. You start as a Lion Lord, building up your territory, managing resources like water and prey, and expanding your pride. It’s a refreshing change of scenery that sets it apart from the hundreds of 'Empire' clones.
The animal designs are realistic and impressive, and the sense of building a 'natural' kingdom is quite immersive. The strategy is deep, requiring you to balance different species and their unique traits to defend your territory from rival players. Like most mobile strategy games, it does lean into alliance-building and long-term timers, but the community is active and the 'nature' theme is consistently well-executed. If you're a fan of strategy games but are tired of the usual historical or fantasy settings, Beast Lord is a breath of fresh air.
Realistic animal-themed strategy
Massive world map to explore
In-depth breeding and evolution system
Global alliance and war mechanics
Stunning nature-inspired graphics
Focus on upgrading your 'Water Source' and 'Feeding Ground' early. Without a steady supply of resources, your beast population cannot grow or defend itself.
Expand your territory by clearing fog and defeating neutral creatures. Build specialized structures to hatch and train different types of beasts for your army.
Yes, you can join or create 'Alliances' to cooperate with other players globally.
The game is fun. Not trying to spend too much time writing this, I just had a couple of UI suggestions. Firstly, when trying to water dragon fruit trees from the alliance member menu by clicking on the player icon and tapping visit, there should be an option to click back to the menu. As of right now whenever you hit back, you’re taken out of the alliance altogether. You are then required to click back on ‘alliance’ then on ‘members’ and then open up the razor to open the player list again. It’s tedious. Secondly, when initiating auto hunt, the pop up that mentions you can unlock higher beasts to auto hunt by killing larger targets offers “confirm” or “cancel”. If you hit confirm, you’re taken out of the auto hunt task. Cancel isn’t intuitive for starting a task as well. The words might be just poorly translated if it was originally scripted in a language other than English, but even then I would think the interaction itself is the issue. Again, otherwise it’s been pretty addictive.
I have joined 3 alliances in the span of one day from downloading this game. Why do the leaders keep asking me if I have a discord account to chat on? They make it seem like it’s a group chat but they just private message you and ask you the same thing. -how long have you been playing the game? Yeah you need to spend a lot of money to progress. -You should come join us in this other game! They then proceed to send you a link to a different game with similar gameplay. I was really enjoying myself leveling up the alphas I got and trying to figure out the role of the animals. At this point I’m wondering if it is a scheme to market other apps now? In these types of games you have to be in an alliance to help boost your area, but if I’m not playing with real players I’m going to delete it very soon. I’ve checked the base of some of these players who have paid “$200” to advance in the game and it looks like their base is level 4 still and mines at 9 😅 that’s why I know they are not even playing the game. I do have a few pointers to better the game, but I won’t waste my breath until I see that legit work is being put into it. I am studying to be a vet nurse and it makes me feel less guilty playing a game that at least involves animals while I study.
This game legit is perfect for most people, it’s not too hard, and if you really want to pass time just unlock new land and destroy the trees, about 2 hours past from me doing that and it felt like 4-5 minutes. But it really is fun to have your very own wildlife land, and this game has that. I get that it’s not the best game out there, but you have to consider that the developers of this game were more limited than most other game developers, thank you guys so much for creating this amazing game. But there is a problem, the other people on this game are horrible, but people shouldn’t be blaming the devs for that😂 it actually upsets me so much, and for those of you hating that the game is boring, it’s a freaking mobile game dude, and it’s honestly pretty good for what it is
There’s a serious safety concern with this game. There’s identity theft, cyber stalking, enticing minors for sex, harassment, bullying going on with no protection for the victims. They allow people to reoffend & force the victims to be bullied daily by the offenders. They have a reporting system which gives warnings, no action. I know in my state these are felony offenses. They will probably make this game 18+ to avoid changing their system, however it’s still a felony & a lawsuit waiting to happen. They have a canyon event where these teens are locked in with their predators for over 40 days. From what I’ve witnessed they protect the predators for money and basically tell the victims to block them in chat as they use the victims identity, pictures, with disgusting pornographic images to the rest of the game as if the victim is the issue. My suggestion for them is to take cyber safety seriously. There’s funny online things that are appropriate & then there’s flat out predators that people need protection from. People like that need sorted immediately. Not days later with a warning. Clear their profiles immediately. 2 strikes & gone on the 3rd.
I would love to see more server’s becoming available in the future for migration options due to the lack of active players in higher servers. There’s many inactive accounts that are hindering opportunities for players to join in different servers because they are “full”. Perhaps an elephant graveyard or something would be great suggestion to send players who are inactive for a certain amount of days before their accounts are removed to give players a chance to return and allow more opportunities for players to migrate through servers to find active alliances. If these suggestions are considered I will change my rating to 5 stars!
I was eager to open this game, as the graphics looked great and it seemed pretty promising. Instead, as soon as the introduction ended, something popped up on my screen that said “Payment won’t work” or something along those lines. I tapped on the “x” in the corner, but it didn’t work. I also tried cancelling the notification. Didn’t work. I also closed out the tab, hoping when I reopened it, the whole thing would be gone. I guess from the rating you can tell that that didn’t give any good results. The screen hadn’t frozen either, because the gameplay continued. The background had frozen, though, as the loading page. Disappointed. I can’t say I won’t recommend the game, because other reviews didn’t have the same issue. This is only my experience with the game. I hope bugs like these can be fixed in the future.
Today I got into an argument with two clan members and the leader played favorites and R0 me. Now I can’t play at all for the next 10 days of the season. I can’t move outside of the safe zone so I can’t hunt herds or wild creatures, I can’t chat to anyone now either in other clans. Nor can I just leave the alliance because it says I can’t. So basically I can’t play the game for the next 10 days. What’s the purpose of this? I’m not going to log in for the next 10 days now since it’s nothing I can do when I log in. Please fix this. People shouldn’t be able to keep others from playing the game. Besides that I enjoy the game but they give people the power to keep you from playing it and I don’t like that. At least let me leave the alliance and quit the season then have me not be able to play for 10 days.
I mostly played this game as an animal enthusiast, because this app was recommended to me by Casual Geographic, but, I’m sorry? I would like to keep my data private if I am going to bind my accounts. The fact this game’s chat bot didn’t understand what I was clearly saying is already a red flag itself. I already pressed the delete account button, and got rid of the game. I’m giving this three stars mostly because, I want to try and be fair. And, I mostly had fun with the game. But, for the love of God, please, don’t extort people for money just so they can get items in a game. I see this with nearly every single app game. If you really want to save money for your game, then, hire an artist to create merchandise based off of your game on your own official website, or something. Do partnerships with ethical zoo exhibits, climate change organizations, or endangered species protection organizations to help promote your game. Don’t extort people for money when you don’t know their economic situation just so they can play through the rest of the game. Have a nice day.
