Word Connect: Top Association is a brilliant evolution of the classic word search genre. Instead of just looking for strings of letters, you are tasked with identifying conceptual links between words, which forces a much deeper level of cognitive engagement. It feels less like a rote scanning exercise and more like a high-speed brainstorming session. The layout is clean and the progression feels earned, making it a perfect staple for anyone looking to sharpen their vocabulary.
What I find most satisfying is the 'chain reaction' feeling when a single connection reveals the rest of the board. The thematic sets are diverse—ranging from everyday objects to abstract emotions—ensuring that the gameplay doesn't become repetitive. It is an excellent 'commute game' that rewards both lateral thinking and quick recognition. If you enjoy games like Connections or Codenames, this is an essential mobile experience.
Conceptual Association Gameplay
Hundreds of Handcrafted Levels
Minimalist and Relaxing UI

Start by identifying the most obvious pair on the board. Once you find a connection (e.g., 'Apple' and 'Red'), look for other words that fit that specific category rather than trying to find a new pair immediately. This helps clear clusters of tiles and gives you more room to think.
Participate in the Daily Association task to earn 'Lightbulbs.' These power-ups are vital for the higher difficulty levels where the links between words become more abstract and obscure.
Hints will highlight one word and its direct associative pair to help you get the ball rolling on a tough board.
I enjoy the game but what is the incentive to get more prizes or diamonds. What can you do with them? I do like working my way up the pyramid but I agree with previous player that the other players are not real. It would be fun to actually play against real players.
I saw an ad for a game that had multiple overlapping Venn diagrams and you had to rearrange the words around the cores so they all made sense. I clicked to download that game and was only given this simplistic 4-word category game. I thought, potentially the Venn diagram might be one part of the overall game so I gave it a shot and played the game. I managed to get to the #2 spot on the “weekly challenge” in less than 10 minutes of playing. I noticed that the #1 person would only “increase” their score when I did, which goes to show it’s a bot and not a genuine player list I’m being challenged against. I finally came onto the App Store to look up this game to absolutely verify that it didn’t actually have a Venn diagram component and as soon as I finish writing this review, the app is being deleted from my account, what a waste of time.
If you’re here because you saw the ad with the hexagons were they moved words into different categories, the game has none of that. It’s basically the same game as the NYT connections game, except way easier. The categories (with exact same words already started to repeat within the first 10 puzzles I played. There is also an ad shown after every turn. They also ask if you want to watch a second ad immediately after watching the ad if you want bonus awards. I spent more time watching ads than actually playing. Note to the developer- fix your ad!! It doesn’t show the same game!!
I downloaded this game after getting an Instagram ad for it, but it’s not at all like the ad showed. The ad showed categories inside of hexagons and you had to move words around to surround the hexagon that described their connection. When you download though, it’s just a far easier version of NYT connections. I continued playing for a bit, thinking maybe I had to surpass first few levels to get what the ad showed, but I’m already at level 15 with no luck. Please do better at advertising your game correctly
I enjoy playing this game as it is very challenging and fun. With that said, there are many scam ads that appear between games. Legit looking companies… L.L.Bean, Carter, Big Lots, etc. I ordered from one and it immediately changed my US dollar to foreign currency and company name change. Of course I never received anything, so be warned and I would hope game app will do more to screen advertising.
Just started your game. I do enjoy the game but don’t think I will be playing. You always want your bots to win the game. The minute I start playing you cheat and have your bots play every time. If I am not playing then neither is your bot. Can’t hardly believe that person close to the lead is a real person and knows I am playing the minute I sign in. Absolutely no fun to play against your bots.
This game would be fun if there weren’t SO MANY ADS!! There is literally an ad after every single level. It takes longer to tap through the ads (and all the game screens) than it does to play each level. Way too much time spent NOT playing the game. I understand the need for ads, but this is an excessive amount of non-game-playing time.
I downloaded this after watching its ad in another game. Maybe I haven’t progressed far enough, but it’s not like the ad I watched. Speaking of ads though, holy guacamole, does it have a lot! It takes me longer to watch the ad between each round than it does to complete the round. I’m deleting this app.
