Connections: Word Puzzle is a game of categories and clever wordplay. Each level presents you with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to find groups of four that share something in common. Categories can range from synonyms to pop culture references or even 'words that start with a fruit.' With limited lives and tricky overlapping themes, you’ll need to think outside the box to solve every daily challenge.

Connections Word Game is the perfect digital version of the popular 'grouping' word puzzle. It’s a masterclass in 'simple to learn, difficult to master.' The puzzles are deviously designed to lead you down the wrong path, often including words that could fit into multiple categories. It forces you to look at the board holistically rather than just picking the first connection you see.
The UI is crisp and responsive, and the daily puzzle format makes it a great morning ritual. What I like most is that it doesn't just test your vocabulary, but your ability to recognize themes and patterns. It’s incredibly satisfying when you finally see the link between four seemingly unrelated words. For fans of the NYT Connections or general word trivia, this is an excellent, polished mobile companion.

Tips & Walkthrough
Be careful! The game often includes five words that seem to fit a category. If you're stuck, try to find a different group first to see which of those five words is the 'red herring' meant to distract you.
Gameplays
Sometimes your brain gets 'stuck' seeing words in a certain order. Use the shuffle button to rearrange the grid; it often helps you see a connection you missed before.

Yellow is the easiest category, followed by Green, Blue, and finally Purple, which is usually the most abstract or tricky connection.

Satisfyingly fun!!?

This is a great game until it gets to be ridiculously hard by using words that an average, everyday

All of these games are alike so making us waste a lifeline on the easy ones just make so many of us frustrated & what really makes us mad it when you need that lifeline where it’s important
Got way too hard and obtuse

Loud ads
Fri Jul 05 2024 BenuathanasiaQuite a few of the ads are extremely loud and don’t even bother to pause whatever you’re listening to. Very annoying. Also, many of the connections are very British centric - such as companies no one outside the UK will be familiar with. The amount of proper name connections is really annoying too. And for the love of all that is holy, get yourselves a spellchecker and fact checker! Spiders aren’t insects!!! Level 36 - you have the same word twice for two different connections: diamond for card suits and diamond for precious stones. But you have to telepathically guess which diamond goes which connection. Finally, I’m only on level 83 and already a lot of the connections are repeats.

Sun Nov 23 2025 ForeverhookedThis game has the potential to be very good and addictive, however, the fact that the entire board is not displayed at once is weird to me. On occasion, you’re looking for the match and guessing, while the match you’re looking for has yet to be displayed, in the meantime mistakes are being used unnecessarily. Very misleading.
