Doing a re-review

I posted a review a while back about how I got around level 650 and it could not be beat and that there was no more free time videos left. Well I was going to delete it and I decided i was going to keep trying to beat it and I did. Somewhere around the 650 level you’re going to have a few levels that are really hard to beat and you have very little time to do it. On top of that, you will not have any videos to watch to get free time added on …that being said If you keep working at it, you will get past those levels and your times go back up to having a minute and a half, etc. My advice is to save coins up to add time if needed since if you don’t use your free videos sparingly you will be out by that point . I’m almost to level 800 and I enjoy the game immensely , It’s one of my favorites. So hang in there and get past it!

Fun game

This is my favorite online game to play, and I especially like the daily challenges. I have to agree with another reviewer though, that sometimes the words in the regular puzzles seem to be made up to fit the spaces. Guess that just makes it more challenging. One thing that bugs me is this, what are the earned animal cards (Simon, etc.) good for? I’ve looked all over and can’t find any use for them; they just keep building up. And the nuts as well? There are many thousands of them but what’s the point of having them? We ought to be able to barter nuts for coins, or trade cards for coins, since coins are the only thing of value. Other than that, I enjoy playing it every day. Edit: 2 years later: still looking for an answer to what good are the cards and nuts? They just keep building up and are useless as far as I can tell. ?????

Fun, but......

I really enjoyed playing this game but when it started getting into the higher levels (300’s-400’s) I found an annoying number of words for which there are no definitions… Either in the games dictionary or in any online. These may be words in another language but no resource I can find recognizes them. Unfortunately, I have not been writing down the words that fall under this category, although I will from now on. It’s quite frustrating to struggle through hints to finally complete a word and have the game dictionary tell me oops, we can’t find a definition for that word. Until I started finding these it would’ve been a five star review. Had to take off a star for what I consider cheating On the part of the game. Is this just a way to get us to buy more coins so we can get more hints?

Too many ads after each progress move.

I like the game it can be fun but as one of the reviewer said the gold coin words a pretty obscure and it’s not an every day language. I guessed mostly but did cave in a time or two. Words like “nug” (which means a nugget of the marijuana so unless you’re a pothead you would really know that), and “topi” (Indian word for hat). Again, a bit obscure for sure. And you have to spend 120 coins to get one later as a hint be at your only make two or three coins here and there to build up your bank. As I mentioned in the title there just seems to be too many ads after I finish one screen then I have to go to another add screen then I have to double tap that to get rid of it and even then you have to sometimes wait for 30 second timer to go out which again just eats up a lot of time gets frustrated make sure move onto a different Game. you know if you did every five ones wouldn’t be that bad but after everyone it just becomes real problem for me to continue to play to keep my interest.

Word Nut

I absolutely love this game! I can play this game almost 24 hrs a day. I find some of the words to be ???, especially when i get the response of “having trouble”. That, to me means there’s probably no such thing. But i still play the guessing game with those. I didn’t rate it a five because of the endless, repetitive, constant ads. The game is a need for me and I find I’m getting quicker at it. But these ads!! I sat through 2 minutes of the very same, uninterested, irrelevant ad. Went to the ad before i solved, after and again before i solved another. This is just ridiculous. Not only unnerving, but a total disruption. I have gotten soo far in this game, but the ads are getting worse and worse. Please do something about this. I totally understand about ads. They are useless and totally unnecessary, especially when i don’t have use or even read them. It seems as we get further, wechat more ads..

A 5 Star Game But….

Thoroughly enjoy Word Nut and would give it 5 stars. Except for one ongoing problem. The game fails to give rewards for ranking in the top 10 in a tournament. This has happened time and time again. I have contacted help twice but all they told me was that the developers were working on the problem to include in a future update. They advised me to be on the home screen, doing nothing but waiting, a few minutes before a tournament ends and that was the most likely way to get my rewards. I have tried this more than once and have still not gotten any rewards for ranking in the top 10 in tournaments. They did send me compensation in the form of coins and pet food. That was very nice of them but really the problem needs to be fixed. It can’t be that hard. Other games I play have no problems with giving out rewards.

Way Too Much In-Game Messaging

I really, really tried to like this game. I have played most of the word-centric games available in the App Store and this game has some nice features and works relatively well. However, the game play is constantly interrupted by the same “helper” messages, over and over again, 5 seconds at a time. Want to find some of the extra words? Be fully prepared for a deluge of messages telling you again and again that all x-length words (insert word length here) have been found. Accidentally touch any letter while thinking? Be prepared for a message that tells you to make words that fit an empty space (which is already obvious). Unfortunately, the constant and unnecessary messaging spoils the game play, interrupts game flow, and in the end is just plain annoying.

Fun—sort of

I have been playing this game for quite some time now-with great enjoyment—except for one MAJOR flaw. Like others have said, there is a gold coin word that must be found before advancing to the next level. 9 out of 10 times, the words are nonsense.. try looking them up—you’ll see. They don’t exist! You can exhaust yourself trying every letter combo to solve the puzzle, or use up your coin stash getting hints for 120 coins each— and that my friends, is the reason for the inclusion of the ‘fake words.’ It is all a means to coerce you into purchasing coins.... The work around is to watch ads in exchange for coins, but a that’s a real time waster, (and awfully boring), watching the same content over and over, and over again. Honest words—even words from other languages, would be fair—but not the fictitious ones served up by the developers of this game.
