It’s easy to learn, and harder than chess to master. Every game is different, because it’s your mind against your opponent’s and everyone has different strategies. There are some terrific players that are regulars. I’m always happy when I get matched against someone tough. Tip: If you lose, pay attention to the strategy that was used against you! There is also a single player campaign but I can’t comment on that as I don’t play it. Be sure to join the Discord. Theres a link to it within the game. There you will find other players, and you can even chat with the developers Joe and Reilly. They are constantly improving Warbits. For about the price of a sandwich, this game provides hours and hours of enjoyment. There are no ads, no recurring costs, and no attempts to sell you upgrades. I can’t think of anything else I have spent so little on and been so happy with. I appreciate the devs for making this. If you enjoy strategy this game is a must play.
first, let me start off by saying I had the classic Warbits and I loved it and I was very sad when issues with game Center led to me being unable to play with my friends. I haven’t explored thoroughly in head-to-head games, but I was playing 1v1 against the computer in a local game and a number of absolutely ridiculous. first, why did you change all of the power ups and the prices of all the vehicles?? that’s not ridiculous, but it used to be perfect. I emptied my carrier, but it still had the little smiley face pop-up on it indicating it had troops inside. all of my troops were wiped out near my enemies headquarters while fog of war was on and I was not immediately unable to see their troops, I could still see them until the end of my turn. The most ridiculous things that happened were the computer brought his carrier to my shore and dropped a troop on top of mine. I thought that was pretty silly, but then later, it did the same thing and dropped one of its troops on a city that I owned it was my city, and I had my guy on that city and then enemy carrier flew over dropped their infantry troop on my city that I was currently occupying and began capturing it… ridiculous stuff
As a long-time Warbits fan, I was so happy to see a sequel come out! The previous game was a classic, but due to it being outdated, the resign button doesn’t work, along with other minor issues, so a remake of some kind was much needed. Seeing a level creation option in the new game is a dream come true by the way, I’ve had so much fun with it already! However, there is one big that could use improvement. (Really quickly, why are jets and ballistas so cheap? Whatever.) The ONLY reason why I’m not giving this an easy five stars is this: the opponent selection is way too limited. You can’t add CPUs (understandable, with custom maps). The real issue is with 4 player battles. You can’t make 3v1s or 3 player FFAs, and can’t even swap which two teams are paired up (I want red and green to pair up again)! Devs, if you’re reading this, literally ignore everything except restoring 4 player battles to their former glory, and I would be more than willing to rate 5 stars :)
The game is similar to the original expect the graphics are updated and you can play in landscape mode along with more features in the game. But it’s a little laggy during portrait mode and kind of makes it have a worse frame rate than the original. Also please do a skip tutorial this is a sequel after all. Also the campaign is pretty much the same as the original which is disappointing, could’ve shaken things up a bit, like why am I fighting blue and green again aren’t we all teamed against purple? Also the rework with jets are detrimental! Not only is it extremely annoying to deal with copters and bombers now since jets are so weak, but it also results in a constant need to build them which just results in a jets vs jets war which is INCREDIBLY boring.
Warbits is one of the best turn based tactics games on mobile. For just $5, it delivers a complete package with fun, strategic gameplay, colorful art, and a sense of humor that keeps things light. It’s polished, responsive, and feels like a proper Advance Wars successor built for touchscreens. At this price point, it’s absolutely worth it. The only thing I’d suggest for the developers is to consider adding cosmetic options like skins for units or map themes as optional microtransactions. That way, they could keep supporting the game while still giving players the value of a full experience up front.
I just recently got this game and it is SUPER fun, although there is something that I feel is missing. I have played Advance Wars, and this is essentially a mobile version of that, but thing thing that Advance Wars has that this doesn’t is: naval units. I feel like naval units could be really fun in this game, with maybe an amphibious mech unit, a battleship like the one from original Advance Wars (where it can move then attack), maybe a submarine, or anything else that you could come up with. But as long as there are some king of truthful naval unit (not the probe) , I will be happy.
It’s a great game that can help kill the time when you are at the airport or dmv. But man, it’s so addicting it can take up a big chunk of your time if you are not disciplined. It’s similar to advance wars with the same infantry, artillery, tanks, and air units. Quirky story but amazing level layout. It makes you think and solve, and rates you on your performance. Gold is good but blue is best. Aim for all blue and you have a game that last you a very good long while. Totally worth the $5.
UPDATED: Tikibob48 said it too…[And Developers refuse to answer]…WHY have you removed the use of Special powers during the Skirmish & Puzzle missions? *** One frustration…why take away the use of the HQ bonuses in the Challenge missions? We get the points awarded, but they do us no good because we can’t spend them like we can in the main missions. (And this was something we could do in the old Warbits.) For those of us who bought the original, the loyal customers who were your first purchasers, there should’ve been a free upgrade or a discount on this one, because there is nothing new here at all. I enjoy it, but it’s the same ol, same ol. Your excuse of “we can’t access the old game engine we built the first game on” isn’t the fault of your loyal customers, so what’s the purpose of re-issuing the same exact game? You rebuilt it, so you easily could’ve added new units (how about a water unit or an underground unit), and new Special powers (how about one to take away ‘fog of war’ for one turn). Also, this game takes far too much power! Even plugged in, my iPad Pro cannot keep up with this game draining it!
