Tiny Dangerous Dungeons Remake is a love letter to the era of the original Game Boy. It perfectly captures that specific 4-shade green aesthetic and chiptune soundtrack that made the handheld so iconic. But don't let the retro look fool you; this is a modern Metroidvania through and through. The map is interconnected, the ability gating is clever, and the platforming is surprisingly precise for a mobile title.
The remake adds several 'quality of life' features that make it a joy to play today. The touch controls are some of the best I've used in a platformer, feeling responsive and customizable. Exploring the dungeon as Timmy feels like a genuine adventure; finding a new item that allows you to double-jump or dash through a previously impassable spike pit is incredibly satisfying. Once you have the 'Dash' ability, return to the very first screen of the dungeon. There is a hidden wall on the upper right ledge that leads to the 'Ring of Force,' which doubles your attack range.
Gameplays
Look for the statues with the glowing eyes. These are your save points and checkpoints. In 'Hard Mode,' these are much further apart, so play cautiously between them!

Fri Mar 07 2025 GibblejipThis bite-sized metroidvania has it all: fantastic graphics, a genuinely catchy soundtrack, and, most importantly, tricky-but-fair platforming that makes getting good fun. I have just three complaints: the knockback when you get hit is annoying, and the period of invincibility you get when you take damage is a fraction of a second too short. Finally, the minimap could do a better job of showing you where you are in the game. It shows you which room you’re in, but not your exact position in that room. Buy this if you like easily digestible platformers that don’t bog you down with endless new mechanics and complicated controls. Buy this if you like gorgeous sprite art. Buy this to support a dev who’s nailed the art of short and sweet games.
Great Metroidvania
Tue Nov 25 2025 dannyaroslavskiGoing in I was just expecting a simple retro platformer, but as I played, the pixel art, animations, gameplay loop, level designs, boss battles, hidden rooms, clever design, all had me playing from start to finish and going for a full playthrough including the full ending. It never belabored on any one thing and the overall charm and uniqueness was quite refreshing. Huge kudos to the developer on a masterpiece of a game! A must buy :)
Perfect bite-sized metroidvania

The bosses can sometimes be frustrating, but as with any game like this it boils down to learning patterns then exploiting them. Definitely worth the $ for a few hours of fun! :)

The controls are precise, allowing for some ambitious moves if you want to make them. I definitely recommend this game!
110% Completion Rate
Tue Mar 11 2025 RikitofenToday I finished all GameCenter achievements for it, this does not include the updated version of the Daredevil achievement, did it with the true ending. This game is the most furfilling adventure plataformer, just piece of art I have ever played on a mobile device. Adventure Islands has nailed it with this Remake. Super Dangerous Dungeons, Tiny Dangerous Dungeons, and now I would say, the most thought out, colorful, and broad ranging game game of the saga. The game was worth every penny. Thank you for this gem Adventure Islands.
