As a long-time fan of the franchise, I was skeptical about how the complex mechanics of The Division would translate to a touch interface, but Ubisoft has absolutely nailed it. The graphics are arguably some of the best on the platform, capturing the haunting, snowy atmosphere of New York with incredible fidelity. It doesn't feel like a 'lite' version; it feels like a full-fledged entry.
The gunplay is snappy, and the cover system—which is the backbone of the series—works seamlessly. What I appreciate most is the progression system. Looting a high-end assault rifle or crafting a specific gear piece still provides that dopamine hit we expect from an ARPG. The addition of mobile-specific specializations adds a fresh layer of strategy that even veterans will enjoy.
While there are microtransactions, the core campaign and exploration remain accessible without hitting a paywall. The Dark Zone remains as tense as ever, providing that unique blend of cooperation and betrayal. If you have a modern device that can handle the thermal load, this is a must-play for any shooter fan.
New storyline set in the NYC post-crisis era
Stunning AAA graphics optimized for high-end mobile devices
Vast open world for exploration and world events
Deep RPG progression with extensive gear and weapon crafting
PvP modes including the infamous Dark Zone and Conflict
Begin by customizing your agent and choosing your initial specialization. Follow the main campaign markers to unlock Safe Houses, which serve as fast-travel points and gear hubs. Focus on completing 'Main Missions' to level up quickly and unlock the Dark Zone.
Engage in cover-based firefights using a variety of futuristic gadgets. You can switch between specializations like Demolitionist or Bulwark to adapt to different combat scenarios, whether you are playing solo or in a four-player squad.
Yes, The Division Resurgence is free to download and play, with optional in-app purchases for cosmetics and convenience items.
I keep running into hackers.. no damage taken, one shoting 90k hp, teleporting across the map, instantly killing bosses, wearing blue gear.. this is a constant problem yet ubi literally won’t do anything about it.. won’t reply. Won’t look at the message. I want to rate this 0 stars but I have had 6 reviews deleted so I’ll give it 5 stars of hacker heaven. The crashes combined with the hackers is an absolute nightmare.. the game literally just gets ruined by this.. it’s already out of hand. Every match has a comp player who’s hacking. Literally every single match in dark zone or conflict has hackers.. at least in dark zone they can’t just instantly find you. But it’s still going to happen.. this game could be playable but with the lack of support it ruins the overall experience of playing.
Long time Division Agent. Played original Division and still play Division 2. I have years of playtime invested into the franchise, so understand I want to see this game to succeed. For day 1, this is ok. I play Division 2 almost daily on PC. Both on my desktop and via GeForce now on my iPad Pro M4. For day 1, it’s about what I’d expect. FPS limited to 30 - that’s disappointing, I want to use my 120hz screen. Graphics are substandard for modern iPad games. Devs - keep working on it, good start, but not there yet. I want optimization for keyboard and mouse! A game like this excels with a keyboard and mouse. Not everything is working properly right now. Text fields don’t work with a keyboard as it is today. I have to disconnect the iPad from the keyboard then type on screen if I want to type. Not ideal. There are some dialogue sections in the game so far that don’t have all the info there. I have to tap with a finger in some section where I should be able to click with a mouse, please fix. The game says I should be able to scroll with the mouse to switch to my secondary weapon. That doesn’t work. Please fix.
It still feels a little early to fully judge the game, but after playing since launch day, I can confidently say I’m enjoying it so far. The graphics are seriously impressive, especially on my iPad Pro 13-inch M4. Everything feels clean, sharp, and well optimized. Gameplay feels smooth, and the gunplay is solid. It is responsive and satisfying without feeling clunky. I’m currently level 6, and one thing I’m really enjoying is the class system. I’m not locked into a favorite just yet, which feels like a good sign. It shows there is depth and variety. It also feels like I have barely scratched the surface and there is a lot more to discover as I keep playing. One of the biggest highlights for me is the flexibility in controls. Being able to switch between touchscreen, controller, and keyboard and mouse is a huge win. It makes the experience feel accessible no matter how you prefer to play. This might end up being my next addiction. I just really hope it sticks around, especially after the last Ubisoft title I invested time in did not. Overall, it is a strong start and definitely worth checking out.
Gameplay is pretty smooth. Cover system being my biggest gripe sometimes it’s a little wonky shifting cover to cover (even with dual edge controller). Honestly haven’t cared much for the story itself, I just love the gameplay of these games, & resurgence is true to the gameplay of both console versions. Crafting isn’t neccessary here, so wouldn’t waste resources. Monetization is there but tbh totally optional, & I’ve been able to come across pretty good loot without having to shelve out cash to do so. The battle pass seems to be the most intriguing option guaranteeing a classic weapon (no spoilers) which is pretty standard with games like this.
Day two from launch and still additional game killing bugs crop up. I lost all my gear after one of the server crashes and Ubisoft hasn’t even acknowledged the problem with many others experiencing it. Feel sorry for all the people that whipped out their credit cards for stuff that magically got lost in the ether. Save your credit cards folks, wait a few months, this game was prematurely released for a quick cash grab to satisfy impatient stakeholders. The only form of entertainment you could possibly get from this game is to see how far you can Progress before either you lose all your gear or one of the many bugs that keeps you from even launching the game successfully. Probably the only good thing Ubisoft did was cap the FPS to 30 to limit even more bugs from driver stability problems.
I’m a huge division fan and played both games on console. I find this different spin to be intriguing and something that should be explored in the console versions. The game is fun so far. This is a review after launch and I really have no complaints with the direction, the story, the work put in behind the game. Now of course there are battle passes and packs to buy but the effort put into the game so far deserves a few bucks from us all who love the franchise. They aren’t overbearing with the pop ups and the new system in the game is very interesting. Keep up the good work Ubisoft. I’ll always be a fan!
Back when the division 1 launched I was an early player and still played all the way to the division 2! I feel all the good parts of both games are present in this one so far! And the return to NY and the early agents being deployed feels nice! Controls feel intuitive, I am not a huge mobile gamer, usually play on console but is really well optimized! Graphic wise it does feel good and it’s easy to fast forward cinematic as well to get into action! Loading is short and so far I hope they can make the game last a good time until the division 3 comes! I’m giving it 5 star so far!
I’m a former Undawn player. In general this creation looks nice, battle mechanics feels pretty. Graphics - mixed, a cold and gloomy humdrum. It would make sense to play if the scenario is strong. But it’s surprisingly weak. Dollar-flu? Seriously? Common, guys! You have recreated the heart of creativity - NY. Couldn’t you find a decent reason for a havoc? Above that, I got a hunch that this game would turn the same repetitive upgrade drudgery as it happened with Undawn. Let’s see how it goes. Thank you for the nice addition to the gaming world. It helps to distract from all the mess around. —- Upd.: I played it for a day. Unfortunately, this is another weapon upgrade clicker. Too much buttons tapping instead of playing.
