Our Expert Score

92/100

Injustice 2 on mobile isn't just a watered-down port; it's a premier fighting experience that stands tall on its own. Taking the cinematic flair of the console version and translating it into a gesture-based brawler was a masterstroke by NetherRealm. The combat feels weighty and impactful—every Supermove feels like a world-ending event. Collecting and upgrading your roster of DC Super Heroes and Villains becomes an addictive loop, especially with the 'Gear System' that lets you customize not just the stats, but the actual look of characters like Batman, Wonder Woman, and The Flash.

The game thrives on its live service elements. From the 'League Invasions' that require genuine team coordination to the 'Solo Raids' against bosses like Brainiac, there is always a new goal to chase. The visual fidelity is top-tier for mobile, with streamlined HP bars and clear combat feedback that make the chaotic 3v3 battles easy to follow. Whether you're a competitive player climbing the Arena ranks or a casual fan enjoying the Multiverse story events, Injustice 2 delivers a deep, rewarding, and visually stunning experience.

Great overall but a bit confusing at first

4.5 rating after playing the game for 2 weeks and then the updates started coming. Over time the game got progressively more interesting specially with the complexity of team building but once the updates came in the game responsiveness got worse. Controls easily locked for no reason and time after time with the frustration of how much annoying and difficult playing arena became took the taste out. It’s like the game became exclusive to those already at the top and less for new players. Consistently yielding 25 shards week after week you would think that it would be easier to achieve more specially if gridding wasn’t a problem. Well that’s the main issue with it all. The delay of refreshing to even have a better possibility of actually finding a decent target that wasn’t so stressful is nearly impossible. Time went from refreshing 30 seconds in between matches to nearly 10 minutes to simply get 2 or 3 matches in. So grinding isn’t even appealing. It’s not worth the time for the simple return. Even more when you spend here and there so of course the game is money hungry beyond disbelief. My best suggestion is to take your $20 and get the legendary edition on console. At least you have TMNT there and a lot more options rather then a whole new card. The difference is noticeable that the creators of this trash are either not the same as the console developers or possibly rushed this in order to keep up with demand. If you are a free player definitely don’t install you will regret wasting the time of trying to compete for scraps.

Loved it, but…
Mon Oct 25 2021 LegendarySuicideSquad

I have played Injustice 2 for quite a bit now. Since maybe 2019, so two years. I love the game, and am kind of obsessed with it. (Who wouldn’t be?) I keep up with every update, but recently I have been on a hiatus so I could focus on another game for their rewards and what not. Well, I log in to Injustice 2 daily to collect the rewards, start operations, and sometimes if I’m feeling up to it, battle in the Championship Arena. Lately, I haven’t been able to play at all. My phone lets me start the app, but it kicks me out when the Loading bar says 43-44 percent. I have no clue what’s wrong, but I wish this would quit so I could continue playing. I’m a huge DC fan and this is a huge disappointment for me. If you want me to write a Review-Review (because I know how some people are): Injustice 2 is a really great game. You’re interactive, you can upgrade your heroes, and battle to be the best with your hands. Or, one hand if you need to (yes, there is a one-hand feature). The only problems are that it’s very time-based and it is kind of hard to earn Power Gems unless you can spend actual money or wait every single day for the Daily Achievement to give you 30-60 power gems. That’s one of the things. The other thing is that the chat community was meant for players to interact and connect, but literally nobody talks; they all advertise their leagues. Other than that, I really LOVE the game and highly recommend downloading it for free today. Oh, if you have the GBs of course.

Purely amazing gameplay
Thu Oct 25 2018 Viper the real player

The gameplay is smooth and although the buttons sometimes don’t respond they work amazing. The characters have rarities and all have different threat levels. The way the shards work and how you don’t have to pay for a character because achievements and a daily login give you gems (which you can also spend money on). Yes the gems can help you exceed faster but other than that they don’t give you extra items. You can go online for shards of characters and in the arena store you can buy shards and armor with points you earn after you win a certain amount of arena battles. In the leagues you can buy shards and armor with league credits which you can get from achievements and raids. You can donate shards to people in your league and compete in raids which give you hero shards, armor, game credits, league credits, and gear materials. The campaign is well made and gives you two options: normal or heroic. In normal you get gear and a chance of a hero shard after a boss battle which you can repeat. In heroic the gear is a higher level and after a boss battle you are guaranteed a hero shard. They’re are operations which you can send your hero’s on to give you credits, gems, hero shards, gear, and xp for that hero you sent on that operation. They’re resource missions which give you xp capsules of a certain class which you can apply to your character to level him up. The last thing is that there is a story line of the actual game on console. It is well made and has amazing cut scenes. In general this game is one of my personal favorites and you should give it a try.

Pretty good game but....
Mon Mar 08 2021 Pretty good game but...

I’ve been playing this game for about a year now and it’s pretty good game. There’s lots to do and there are plenty of games to go into besides the campaign games or story mode. The graphics are pretty great, and so are the characters but I do have one or two problems. They only problem I have with this game is the fact that it takes pretty long time to collect gems and it takes forever to collect the shards. I usually collect the gems so I can unlock characters but lately I can’t even do that. It takes so much of your gems just to unlock one character, and when you don’t get a new character it just adds on to the character you already have and most of the time it’s a character you don’t even use like that. Also it gets pretty pricey to level up the characters on hand, my best team right now is a little over 45,000 I believe and on the campaign mode I’m stuck on aqua man which the team is on 75,000 or something like that and I try to level them up but it takes forever and it takes a lot of your coins. Also the story mode it only went up to 8 chapters and that was it, I know the story doesn’t stop there so what’s the hold up on the other chapters? Ok ok maybe it wasn’t just one or two complaints but I hope you get the idea. But overall it’s a pretty good game I still play it almost every day or when I can. So do not decide to not download this game because of me trust me it’s worth it.

Injustice Great Idea, so-so execution.

I’m a relative newb to this game, as I’ve only been playing solidly for a month. And after a month here are my thoughts. For a free mobile fighting game the graphics, story, campaign, and overall fights are fun. However, what I have noticed is once you start developing your characters, things start to cost more. For instance fighting a normal heroic battle costs 7 energy. Fighting the main boss costs 12, but at about account level 15 or so that only gets you about 65-70 total energy for about an 8 hour period. Then when you get to a boss in a campaign you are not even guaranteed shards for that boss for a win! Or another example is the gold character challenges that are offered, you can reasonably fight the level 1 challenge with a few characters that you haven’t spent time, money and effort leveling up. But then level 2 challenge requires a threat level of 50k plus to even have a chance. Arena events are similar. But when you aren’t paying money to play you have no real shot at unlocking characters that you want or even ones you don’t. And there are only characters that can be unlocked if either you have been playing them forever or you have a ton of money to spend. How about instead of making everything cost so much offer a season pass that lets you unlock characters, or add them to campaigns or something to that effect. Overall a good game if you want to pass time.

Overall great game, but....

I just had to write a review for this. Since I’m here I might as well give my thoughts though, so here they are. This is actually a pretty great mobile fighting game! I haven’t played many fighting games on mobile, but I can definitely say this game nails most the areas that Contest of Champions is lacking in. The addition of a story mode (alongside the campaign) is a great way to kill some time and introduce you to the game. Campaign on its own is fun. The gameplay is waaay better than Contest of Champions, since it handles the attack system a bit differently, making the combos really satisfying to pull off. I just have a small problem with the game that, while petty, will keep me from giving it five stars...and it’s registering the Mortal Kombat representation in the game. Specifically, the blatant lack of a playable Scorpion. While the game is fun on it’s own, he’s the whole reason I bought the game in the first place. I’m pretty sure he used to be in this game, or at least the first Injustice on mobile...so why is he now absent? It feels weird seeing Sub Zero and Raiden, but no Scorpion...seriously, I would pay money for this character. I don’t know why he isn’t in the game as of now, but it just feels like he should be in the game. Think of how Jump Force launched without a rematch option. (It still doesn’t have one....) Anyway, great game. Still can’t give it five stars until I see Scorpion though.

NR up the rewards, latest update is very humbling.
Mon Sep 20 2021 JBeez17

Ok NR if you want to up the character level to 80 then up the rewards system. Sure I know it’s not suppose to be easy to achieve that level but seriously it’s very hard to even have the orbs to get one character beyond level 70. I have been playing for nearly 2 years not even close to getting the orbs even for leveling a average character beyond 70. The level 7 XP capsule is a nice touch to build XP but why not offer to buy a level 7 capsule in the league store even if it costs more league credits? And your reward system for league raids is abysmal at best. The difference of rewards from raid 6 to 7 is a compete embarrassment!! Even if a league member that places first in raid 7 the reward can be just trash. Up your rewards for the hard work people put in to these time consuming raids. I barely find the rewards for Raid 7 hardly better than Raid 6 despite bosses having 10X more health. Where is the payoff for a Raid that we work that much harder for? I am not saying reward the high profile characters shards and gear out like it’s nothing but at least make it a real possibility to get something great even if it’s rare to win it. The Firestorm gear for placing high in R7 is getting stale at best. Please up the rewards for the loyal players who have stuck with this game to keep playing. Because as of now it feels more of a chore than fun anymore.

This game main objective is too literally get you to drop like $300 in order for you to have a chance to compete to get top leaderboards and win any fights when the game decided to pair you up against players or even bots that are literally 3X stronget than your base team. Majority of the chests say “Sale” of 293 Gems when the original price is 490 Making it literally 10 dollars you would occasionally spend if you fall for the trap. The chest don’t even grant you a character for spending the 293 gems but instead grant you charms for the character and even then you most you will get in a chest is 60 when majority pf the characters are 160 to 200 and the the tab where you can buy hero shards only lets you buy the selected two of the day for random hero’s you dont even own and you spend 50-75 gems for only 5 shards. The Ai bots that you fight start to get all passive when they fight and start to the back strafe moves only. You run through your energy every fight due to ur max amount currently at where im sitting it 78 and each fight costing around 12, Compared to what injustice 1 brought us this game a total miss compared to even the event of the certain characters that would only be able to be unlocked through there is completely trash in this game, If there plan is to milk as much money they should have honestly kept adding onto injustice 1 or if anything make you be able to get a high tier card off rip like in mk11, but other the less this game trash
