Solo Leveling: Arise is an absolute powerhouse of a mobile ARPG. For fans of the webtoon and manhwa, it is the definitive adaptation, capturing the sheer scale and high-octane energy of Sung Jinwoo’s journey. The combat is visceral, fast-paced, and looks like a high-budget anime in motion. The 'Shadow Extraction' mechanic is implemented flawlessly, allowing you to summon your defeated foes to fight alongside you, just like in the source material.
Technically, the game is a marvel. The graphics are some of the best currently available on mobile, with particle effects and character models that wouldn't look out of place on a console. While it follows the gacha model for weapons and hunters, the skill-based nature of the boss fights means your timing and dodges are just as important as your stats. It’s a deep, polished, and incredibly exciting action game that sets a new bar for licensed adaptations. If you have the hardware to run it, this is a mandatory download.
Stunning console-quality 3D graphics
Visceral, high-speed combat system
Shadow Army recruitment and management
Faithful adaptation of the original webtoon story
The 'Extreme Evasion' mechanic is vital. Dodging at the exact moment of an attack slows down time and grants you a powerful 'Shadow Step' counter-attack.
After defeating an elite boss, use 'Igris' or 'Tank' to lead your shadow army. They draw enemy aggression, allowing you to charge up your ultimate skills safely.
Yes, on supported devices, the game can run at 60 or even 120 FPS for the smoothest possible action.
I really enjoy the anime for this game. Started watching the anime after a clip I saw on social media resonated with me. I usually play a lot of different games. I have a harder time watching anime over playing games cause I have such a difficult time getting excited and emotional while watching that it’s hard to not just skip through to get caught up. TvT But, compared to the anime the game feels really lacking surprisingly for me. Mmm it doesn’t really feel like we’re actually playing as the main character I guess? It’s a good game, but to be honest after watching the anime I’d rather just not play as the main character at all. Probably cause the game is a lot more rushed compared to the anime — I’m assuming cause they figure people will have already watched the anime, but it kinda is just really underwhelming as a result. Mm I think it’d be a lot more fun and make more sense for a game if we could have just played as ourselves or specifically play it as like a gacha game? Since we can’t really experience the same emotions and stuff as in the anime, it kind of just feels like we’re playing a summary of what we already know happens. Which while it’s nice and more content, it doesn’t feel worth it to play as much. Let alone spend money on. Definitely might play casually! As much as I dislike SAO as an anime, that’s something their games have gotten down really well with immersing us in their worlds. I love Solo Leveling as a media a lot more though overall. Please keep up the great work! These are just my thoughts. :]
This game has some of the worst servers for mobile play!!!! It's fun and entertaining forsure, but you will not get far. This game will LAG during matches throughout the entire match, and by the time you get the Boss down to 2 or 3 on the health bar, it will either Lag worse, killing you, or the game will close out. Im playing on a newer IPhone and this game is so annoying. I've been playing two weeks after it premiered hoping it will get better and it HAS NOT!!! I'm tired of replaying matching that I should've won, I'm tired of 45 mins worth of daily tasks taking 2 hrs plus with lagging and app shut downs. They provide lower to higher frame levels to choose from and it truly does nothing, It's fun but honestly don't waste your time unless your on a computer. (Addition) so it's been three months, I'm back to the game, not only has everything been fixed for the most part, I had a beautiful package waiting for me when I got back to the game full of all types of stuff to get me rolling again, I had my complaints before, and they were well received, and well addressed. I'm not crashing, the game is not lagging, text has been fixed, animations has been fixed, and they've added some extra fun things to do to keep the game going, and they adjusted the power levels which was great cause it was getting real rough with what they were giving you but it was a new game so I knew I had to fall back for a little bit, great job guys.
➡️🚨It’s super high quality game completely flawless I’m glad that more people have started to realize that whatever problems with game whether crashing not being to enter too high storage is really only a problem on devices that are kinda low end because mobiles games exist at least up to 50+ Gb it’s not a myth⬅️ 🚨 and when I used to play before deleting my account I had level 60+ and 500k power but now I’ve restarted and in 4 hours I’m up to 40k with sungjinwoo alone and level 30 also tip whenever they release characters like Igris in his human form save up your special currency to buy all 40 rolls so 2,500 per ten rolls you need 10,000 and new dragon sword too it’s good to use powerful attacks with good Area of damage in higher levels hp doesn’t really matter as much as dps decent perception level and high crit chance and damage so you can overwhelm opponents before timer runs out and that’s all btw if you read to this point thx a lot again I’ll remind you that up top even more reviews are realizing it’s not game it’s devices I play on a normal iPad 11th gen with highest setting and have never crashed.
First need to address how it seems how the App Store seems to be hiding this gem. Should be top 5 in many categories but it’s not even listed in any of them. Great new game especially since I’m into the manhua and the anime. Has some issues on mobile, that I don’t see happening to reviewers using pc, that took away a star. Biggest issues are special attacks not landing, camera angle doing what it wants, attacks going after the wrong enemy, artifact’s abilities seeming sabotaged, target lock applying to everyone except the target in front of me, and target lock disengaging. Also, later content demanding 100k champ pwr levels to complete but the items needed to level up to that pwr level beyond to hard to get and It’s not even purchasable. Which forces me to only be able level up 3 to 5 characters out of 25. So 20 champs stuck at 50-60k pwr level are in a useless purgatory. Because I can’t raise their power levels I can’t use them. Why even put them in the game if we can’t use them. Besides those issues I’m loving all the other aspects of the game. Pros to the game are weapons, character drawing system, adherence to story, road map through the game, strategy needed to complete fights, plethora of content, fighting mechanics, challenges, and I love how jinwoo is a set character (no need to unlock him.) They have something special with this game. Worth playing even with the issues imo.
Let me preface this by saying - I adore this game. But it crashes almost every time I play it and takes forever to load. It’s not like i’m playing on ancient software, I literally have an iPhone 12. Maybe I’m tripping and that is ancient, but I have other games that seem like their graphics are far more complicated/better that run just fine. Even if they make like, a super ugly terrible graphics setting that would be playable I wouldn’t mind, considering I have soo many problems running everything on the lowest setting. I’m only writing this review out of desperation after the app has crashed 3 times in a row trying to play literally one dungeon. It’s a sunk cost fallacy at this point because I’ve spent enough that I want to keep playing but if the crashing issue doesn’t get fixed I guarantee I will drop it which is unfortunate bc I really do like it!! side note: the power system is so weirdly unbalanced. the missions in the story are level locked, but at this point I’ll be like 20 levels above it and have extremely high cp above the mission but still…lose. so I find myself stuck on a level 65 mission when I’m already at 84…like huh??? everything I can level up is at its cap??? confusing Update: even worse after the newest update. Crashes all the time still, have to click buttons like 3 or more times to get anything to work. I have been trying to pass one boss mission and it had crashed during or right at the end I kid you not 6 or 7 times. I cannot keep doing this 😭
Yea not really a fan of the level requirements for stages. It’s restricting and makes the game less enjoyable. It also makes the game slow paced and boring. Still a really good game and the graphics are beautiful but still really don’t like level requirement for stages. It makes no sense why it would be there other than to force players to pay for diamonds to get more keys for gates or passes for more activity funds or be forced to fall behind while waiting for keys to play gates and collect activity funds just to catch up. Don’t restrict it so they are forced to wait even though they are way above required power level. Even if your power level isn’t enough, it shows that you can strategize around it and beat a level that is meant for when you are stronger. It would be wonderful if this system would be removed and let players play the game. Your game will die off because it’s boring and people don’t want to pay just to progress in the story or gameplay. Even if you have wonderful graphics it, doesn’t matter if your dumb level system outweighs it. No games with this type of level requirements for stages system last long. Just a thought to make your game more enjoyable and not make players feel forced to pay real money to progress.
I was really excited for this game to release but unfortunately after about 2 hours of playing, just had to stop. The battle mechanics are choppy and unsmooth, it feels unfinished with my character swiping at the air and completely ignoring the enemy half the time despite being “locked on,” other times when dodging, it had an input lag of about a second or two. When using skills, you can’t animation cancel and instead will just continue until it’s done, even if you’re not aiming at the enemy. The graphics are good, the character models aren’t exactly accurate to the source material but it isn’t bad. I do like the weapon system and skill system, the options available to you enables you to play in various ways. The gacha system is fine, but the fact that they made a $20 outfit available on the day of release rubs me the wrong way. It makes the game just feel like a cash grab. Mostly because the game still feels clunky and overall unpolished but they’re putting their focus towards in-game cosmetics instead which is in my opinion ridiculous. Overall i would say if you enjoyed the solo leveling manhwa then try out the game. I wouldn’t say it’s the best game adaptation out there, maybe not even mid tier, but it has potential to be good, it just needs further development and polishing. Overall 2/5.
Hello once again Netmarble,I’m sending you a re-review of my previous one apparently the problem that I’ve shown you once is still continuing and it will still continue until you do the right thing not only that the crash has been happening on normal mode chapter 10 add chapter 6 on heart mode and all the other side activities including the gates, so please take this problem to consideration and fix it and also add in the feature that was apparently not enabled in the release basically reenable upload attachments so this is how I can upload to you all these pictures and screenshots that I’ve took and leading up to when it keeps crashing on these said chapters, please take this consideration and maybe just maybe in the future if you do do the right thing and stop worrying about the money and being just another greedy company worrying about money and not helping out your users and people who use your apps until then I will still continue to send you very bad reviews until you get the wake up call and do the right thing now I say this once again this time, and I mean it, take this into consideration and do the right thing and listen to your customers and fix these problems right away maybe then I will give you a starling review and maybe just maybemaybe I will continue to enjoy this game without continue crashing or other issues that here in the near future now right back to me at your earliest convenience and please do not send any bots to do your dirty work except just coming out and saying it yourself
