Small fixes and improvements.
Recursive: Programming Puzzles is an absolute gem for anyone who loves logic-based challenges or wants a gentle, gamified introduction to the concepts of computer science. It manages to make recursion—a notoriously difficult concept to grasp—feel intuitive and even fun. By controlling small robots with a minimalistic four-command language, you learn to see patterns and translate them into efficient code.
The UI is crisp and user-friendly, allowing you to drag and drop instructions without frustration. The level design is brilliant, introducing new elements like 'Bugs,' 'Teleportation gates,' and 'Inactive robots' at just the right pace to keep you challenged but never overwhelmed. The ability to control execution speed is a great feature, letting you watch your 'program' run in slow motion to debug where a pattern went wrong. It’s an educational tool masquerading as a high-quality indie puzzler, and it’s equally rewarding for kids and adults who enjoy a good mental workout.
No-code-required programming logic gameplay
Interactive tutorial system for mastering recursion
Diverse level elements: Teleporters, Bugs, and Chips
Execution speed control for debugging your patterns
If you see a repeating path, don't write it out step-by-step. Use a colored chip to call a set of instructions that includes itself to create an efficient loop.
Drag 'Move,' 'Rotate,' and 'Change Color' instructions into the robot's program slots. Press play to watch the robot execute your code and collect gems.
Not at all. The game uses simple visual icons and is designed to teach the logic of programming from scratch.
I love Glitch games, I love the stories, the care and humor in the writing, the puzzles. I have bought every single one they charged for. This is the first game of theirs that has ever felt tedious at some point. The triangle, circle, square boxes, and the timing felt, for me, like jumping through hoops. I love challenging puzzles but this part was finicky and annoying. I haven’t finished the game yet because of it and possibly I’ve stopped caring? Glitch is one of the best creators of adventure puzzle story games, and if I could give 4.5 stars for this one, I probably would. I’ll definitely check out whatever they put out next though. =)
Glitch is one of the best developers out there, and this game is another fun and unique experience. It’s shorter than many of their games, but still took me most of a day to solve and was well worth the money. My only problem with Glitch is that they don’t put out games fast enough, leaving me to compulsively check their website all year to see when I can get my next fix. Love, love, love you guys.
I’ve played every Glitch game except a couple now I think and I’ve loved them all for the most part. I got to chapter 3 with some walkthrough help and then had to watch a walkthrough video to get through the boxes and finally get that keycard. Went to the elevator, inserted the keycard and then died doing the puzzle. The thought of having to go through all that again and maybe again just to get the keycard is too much for me. I like a challenging game but you also need to feel like you’re accomplishing something and this just didn’t do it for me.
Love Glitch! Interesting concept in this game, I started at three minutes for the first two sections, but went to ten minutes for the third. I always use the camera, but in this game it was needed! Love their humor, but the logic and challenges are perfect for my level of play which I would say is slightly advanced. Can’t wait for the next!
Glitch is the master of these kind of games but they missed on this one. The puzzles are great but having to start over each time becomes really irritating. I tried playing a second time with UNLIMITED time on the clock but even with that the game is designed where you have to purposely go back to the beginning to finish the puzzles. In my opinion, that is just not a good idea. I’m looking forward to their next release I hope they go back to the Forever Lost design. That series is legendary.
I own every glitch game and on preorder;I love them, especially the early ones. But this is the first game I could t finish. Something about having to go back to the start and redo puzzles killed it for me to the point that I abandoned it…personally I’d prefer not to have to revisit puzzles done. In a side note I also love the range and creativity of the earlier games… of late they all seem to be sort of all industrial looking… but excited to play fragile mind now!
i loved it. such a great twist on this type of game. had a blast playing it. however i let the song play way too many times. i just refused to turn it off at the start of every loop out of spite. and now i will hear it in my dreams forever. i have regrets.
.. it makes all the difference. Timed play just isn’t why I became a Glitch fan in the first place. Timing didn’t feel like your signature somehow. This is much better. Loving the updated version!
