- NEW bonus levels!
- Fixes to audio
Psychofunk is one of the most stylish and mechanically unique platformers on the App Store. Instead of controlling the character's movement directly, you control the platforms themselves, pushing them in and out of the screen like the buttons on an old cassette player. This 'Z-axis' interaction is perfectly suited for touchscreens and feels entirely fresh. The aesthetic is a psychedelic trip through the 60s and 70s, featuring trippy visuals and a funky soundtrack that perfectly complements the action.
The game is challenging, especially during the creative boss fights that require precise timing and quick reflexes. It’s a relatively short experience, but every level is handcrafted with care and introduces new ideas. It’s the kind of premium indie game that reminds you how creative mobile gaming can be when it steps away from free-to-play tropes. If you appreciate great art and innovative mechanics, Psychofunk is a must-play.
Unique 'cassette-button' platforming mechanic
Stunning 60s and 70s inspired psychedelic art
Intense and creative boss battles
Tailor-made for touch screen controls
Observe the movement patterns of your character. Pushing the platforms just as they are about to land will allow you to maintain momentum and avoid hazards.
Tap the platforms to push them into the background or pull them into the foreground. Use this to create paths or bridge gaps for the automatically moving hero.
The game features a full campaign through four seasons plus newly added bonus levels.
I always have high expectations whenever I buy a game for more than $3 on the App Store for my phone, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised! The game dynamic is really cool to play through and learn. My phone is updated to the latest IOS update as of 6/4/21; it doesn’t make my phone overheat or anything like that (as of yet at least). This game is fun and still has a challenge element to it. Props to you guys! Personally the only thing that I think could be ‘improved’, was if some part of the scenes that you go through moved with the beat of the music. I think that’d be cool :)
It was a really fun game but unfortunately I finished it with all stars and now I have nothing to do. I hope they add more levels in the future. I highly recommend.
This is a fun platformer. Once you play a few levels you’ll understand the game. My only reason for not giving a full 5 star rating is because the game heats up both my iPad and iPhone pretty quickly. If this problem gets fixed, I’d recommend five stars. Get this game.
Super charming, and it’s a new mechanic to change the platforms. But it felt like a lot of waiting, and wasn’t that interesting. Also the main menu is confusing.
