- A cute new splash screen
- Gameplay bug fixes and UI improvements
Being a huge fan of AppSir I expected that the game would be great but groaned a little bit at the idea that the absence of the typical rage platformer formula that has worked so well for previous titles would in some way diminish the effectiveness of this game. I’m happy to say my concern was completely unfounded. This game was great! It ties in with the other games, has moments of fantastic humor as well as incredible feelings of accomplishments especially if you get lucky enough to finish some of these levels on the first try (be sure to attribute it to luck not to skill; aide will be sure to remind you of this fact haha), one is overall a great game. I’m only sad that it is already over!!!!
Darius’ games are great, regardless of platform, but have always felt at home on mobile. Puzzling Peaks EXE feels peak AppSir, pun intended. Moving from the hardcore platforming of Dere Evil EXE to the run and gunning of Hopbound, Puzzling Peaks continues the blend of humor and meta horror, this time with puzzle mechanics as the core. The puzzle mechanics feel great and responsive. The gravity and momentum feel consistent throughout, so you feel like you’re actually gaining a skill. Everything else from the aesthetic, writing and soundtrack are leaps beyond what AppSir has done before, with Darius’ prior games leaving a pretty high bar. You best keep an eye on this dev moving forward. While prior AppSir games continued to set a bar, Puzzling Peaks blows all expectations out of the water. You do not want to miss this game and all it’s twists and turns.
This installment takes place between DERE EVIL EXE and DERE VENGEANCE. I found it way more difficult than the usual platformer since you don't directly control your character. There's a few really tough puzzles, a few are oddly in the early levels which hinder natural progression. I highly recommend this game to those who like gravity puzzle games. It's worth the asking price.
This game is so addicting. It’s definitely a challenge and when I showed my gf how I beat this one level, she asked if she could watch me keep playing it. It’s because this game is so entertaining and I honestly just got started. I can’t wait to keep playing and I think I got my gf hooked too haha
This game seems easy yet it quickly gets challenging. Controls/ gravity could be better. Also the AI voiceover idea is neat, but isn’t necessary to be honest. I wish there was a way to adjust the sound such as being able to mute the music & sound effects or make them quieter. Pixel graphics are nice to look at and the music is pretty good as well.
I played through the whole game twice in just a few days the visuals are cool the gameplay is technical but not annoyingly so, will likely re-download and play again.
I do not know why I like this game. I usually hate puzzle games. This is more than just a puzzler though.. I’m in too deep to quit now. I need to see how this ends
Mechanics are fine. That virtual assistant needs to go. The voice is clean but very dull. The dialogue choices are very questionable. Just call me the R word outright for missing something instead of using that psychological terminology. I only played 8 or so stages. Level design needs work because there are some jumps in difficulty in these early stages.
