Thanks for playing Pikmin Bloom! New in this version:
- Added event markers to Special Spots in the Walk View and Bird’s-Eye View to show which event each spot is associated with.
- Minor improvements and bug fixes.
*Please download the latest version of the app from the store for the changes above to be reflected.
Pikmin Bloom is a delightful departure from the competitive intensity of Niantic's other titles. Instead of 'catching them all,' the focus is on personal wellness and shared beauty. It turns your daily walks into a cooperative gardening project. Seeing your path on the map bloom with flowers planted by yourself and others is genuinely heartwarming.
The game excels as a 'background' experience. It doesn't demand your constant attention; you can just start a walk and check in later to see what your Pikmin found. The AR features are charming, and the daily 'Lifelog'—which encourages you to add photos and notes—makes it feel like a digital scrapbook of your physical journeys. It is a peaceful, life-affirming app that makes the simple act of walking feel magical.
Integrated step-tracking gameplay

Planting flowers increases your step-to-seedling growth speed. Join a group walk to plant faster and earn bonus 'Big Flower' rewards in high-traffic city areas.
Send your Pikmin on expeditions to retrieve items from places you've visited during the day. They can bring back postcards, fruit, and new seedlings.
Yes, if you enable 'Adventure Sync,' the app will track your steps and plant flowers in the background.
Every time someone asks me what this game is, I tell them it’s basically Pokémon Go, but with Pikmin instead. And it is, but I actually enjoy this game a lot more than I did Pokémon Go. The biggest difference is that the main focus is on the steps you take, making it a great exercise motivator. But the other thing I like about it is that you don’t have to go to specific places to get the different Pikmin (I believe Thomas Sanders made a joke about traveling halfway across the world to get an Arcticuno…) You do have to go to different places to get some of the more special Pikmin, but it’s general places that should be near most people such as bakeries, salons, and Ramen places. The other thing I like about that aspect of the game is that you don’t have to constantly have the app open to find the Pikmin either, you simply walk around and it saves the Pikmin that you find for you to go collect whenever you have time. The one complaint that I have is that there’s only one way to earn coins, which is through planting flowers, and it’s very slow. I’d say on average I earn about 8 coins a day and the cheapest thing in the store is about 100 coins so… it takes a while to earn enough to do anything useful with them. I understand that games have to make money somehow, but as someone who really doesn’t have cash to spend on mobile games, it’s pretty frustrating. Overall though, it’s a great game and I love walking places now instead of dreading it.
I really enjoy this charming game. It’s pros are things I don’t enjoy about Niantic’s flagship Pokémon Go. Being that Pickmin have no inherent CP rating, pulling and naming Pickmin feels more rewarding, as you will never have to put any of your Pickmin in a candy blender. Additionally, there isn’t a push to play so that you don’t miss out on new content. You can tackle the quests at your own pace and interact with seedlings and Pickmin at your behest. Additionally, sending your Pickmin on fetch quests and watching them walk toward map locations in real time is quite cute. However, there is still more from the Pickmin side of things that I would like to see. One cool idea that uses previous Niantic features would be battling the series’ famous monsters. In this iteration, however, you would throw Pickmin like a Pokeball at the monster to attack. Hitting the sweet spot could mean your Pickmin takes less damage or doesn’t die. Type resistance could also be used from the main games. In reality, that is one core concept I would like to see. Eventually, I’m sure I will have the max of 300 Pickmin. I think it would really add to the game to feel a sense of responsibility for one’s Pickmin and helping them not die from monsters like the console counterparts. Just please, Niantic, whatever you do don’t give Pickmin CP.
I really love this game. It has motivated me to really take charge of my health and my fitness. I have been averaging about 10,000 steps a day. I really appreciate how easy this game is to collect petals and to make my steps and plant flowers. the only flaw that this game has, which results in the loss of a star is that a lot of the cool events that they have are basically pay to play. Some of them are so difficult that you have to pay in game coins in order to complete them for example, the new 1.5 anniversary event you have to pay 600 coins per special mission. I personally think that is a bit unreasonable for an 8 day event, 600 coins per mission when on average with my 10,000 steps I only make about 20 coins a day; Another example, the second half of the event that had happened in April 2023, The missions for the mushrooms most definitely required mushroom tickets because a person could not complete the missions in the timeframe that was given with the 3 a day limit. Personally, I do not mind the coin concept but the prices for mushroom tickets as well as the prices for events are a bit to unreasonable for what I am capable of and I also know that most people don't make 10,000 steps a day, not to mention a person needs to be planting flowers during those 10,000 steps in order to collect the coins necessary to spend. Lastly, I have not bought a single piece of clothing either because I am so focused on tickets and events that I cannot feasibly manage to accumulate enough coins for everything that I would need to maximize my gaming experience
So, i played this game expecting it to be another idle stepcounter, but it’s different. You pick up things from your Pikmin and use them to get more or change the flowers on your current ones. The game is great and i had a lot of fun with it so far, but…what prevents me from giving it five stars is the bug i encountered. See, i wanted more Pikmin so i walked until two new ones i got were ready to pluck, but i wasn’t leveling up as a friend who recommended the game to me warned about. Curious, i went to the level screen where i was given an overview of the level system and told i needed 500 total steps to do so. I had about 1000 at that point. I figured “okay, if i do 500 steps then i’ll be back to normal, right?” No matter how many steps i took, that number never went any higher. It stayed stuck at 0. I hope the devs see this; i’d really hate to need to restart and do things in a very specific order to proceed. I think i broke the sequence they wanted players to go through and that’s why i’m getting this bug. Not even restarting the app or my phone worked. Though, if you want a relaxing game to have on in the background while you walk around, then by all means get this game. It’s relaxing and fun, especially with AR mode. I just hope another bug patch is implemented to fix whatever sequence break i happened to glitch the game out with.
I’m level 8 and intent to get farther, so far it’s really just walk and I pull up Pikmin and collect some berries and stuff, it’s cute, I don’t feel useful in game yet but I think I’m around the corner, I play Pokémon go as well so it’s kinda a nice one to have in the background to count and still progress good. You definitely need a phone that counts steps to play, as I’m seeing reviews saying they can’t progress so it makes sense. I would rate it 5 stars but as others said, it’s pay to play basically, you can’t get expansion slots to anything without real money, and the coins you can earn are frankly ridiculous, and no real use for those coins. Currently I don’t mind Pokémon Go’s system to earn coins and get expansions with them, yes I still spend plenty of real cash but I like the option and I like to cut my cost by earning some, so in this one not having that just feels like a turn away from the right direction, cause it’s a flat fee, I tend to throw a 20 at it cause it’s a better deal on coins so I get more expansions. Enough ranting about that, the game itself is why your reading thing? The game is fun if you like their other games, if you didn’t like it, then you won’t like this, it’s that simple. Tho unlike their other games, this one is a lot slower on screen, it’s very focused on walking so even healthier I guess.
I’ve been really enjoying my time in this game. The more I get invested into it, the more it is I am wanting go out and about. You can dedicate as much or little time as you want, and something I really appreciate is not having any FOMO mechanics that make we want to login when I don’t want to. My only real complaint is how hard it is to accumulate coins. You really need to invest time and effort to even get a small amount. I know they are primarily used for cosmetics, but you are able to use them for storage increases for your Pikmin and items. That makes the process of acquiring coins that much more annoying as you have a reason to get coins even if you don’t care about the cosmetics. And another thing I don’t care about at all is how typically 1 coin equals 1 cent(yes I know there are bonuses, but for the sake of my argument), but when you look at how much it costs to do a storage upgrade, the amount of coins it takes to upgrade is way higher than the dollar amount when converted. For example, nectar storage costs $1.99, so you’d think it would take like 200 coins to upgrade. Instead, it takes 350 coins. That’s an extra $1.50 in coins. Which might not seem a lot, but when you are trying to play free to play with how hard it is to farm coins, it actually is quite big. I know you need to make money. I get that. And I really do appreciate that you don’t do ads. But I think it’s unfair for people who don’t have the means or simply just don’t want to give money to be sort of punished because of it. I’d say either lessen the amount of coins it takes to upgrade, or increase how fast it takes to farm coins.
The randomization needs a lot of improvement in a lot of aspects. I see the same mushrooms the same colors for days at a time. Or a cluster in the same area are all the same color. I get stuck on early levels of these seasonal challenges because I keep “randomly” getting every nectar exact the seasonal one I need to progress! Even planting these seasonal flowers will sometimes produce totally random large blooms. And less than 5 nectar for the flower itself? I just used an entire inventory of petals to get this to bloom… I must have collected the entire roadside decor category at least 10 times over. When I use my detector around so many other possible decor seedlings, it really only picks up more roadside seedlings?? It kind of feels like an insult by the game when I only get 1 free charge a day. The flower planting ending automatically when your petal count reaches 0 is a huge pain. Obviously it should just cycle to the next petal option you have inventory of, please don’t make me watch a recap of the walk I’m still on, and then make me restart it. I’ll finish a huge walk to find the last 50% didn’t plant any flowers at all because I didn’t change petals halfway through. Overall if you want to progress or collect in this hugely expansive game, you have to have your face buried in your phone when you’re out and about.
The game is fun as I began but as the days come by my flowers began to disappear after all that walking which makes me kinda sad because now my place looks really boring and depressing with only a big patch of flowers in the middle of no where which is where I live. I really thought the flowers would stay there forever until you delete your flower data as it says on the settings. I also hope there would be more updates to make the place look less boring and bare, and maybe new features like fighting enemies to gain nectar. I really hate the coin system as for planting 500 flowers just to get 1 coin! Its absurd how you can only get a 30 coin cap limit for each day, I really don’t think its possible to even get 3 or 4 coins unless you walk for many hours! I hope there would be more opportunities to get coins instead of having to plant flowers or even pay and maybe we can get daily gifts for logging on and reaching the goals for getting 1,000 steps or more each day. It seems a really pointless feature just to celebrate how many steps you’ve done and get nothing. One last thing I would like to see change for players is being able to exchange the pikmin costumes with friends or turning them into coins and restarting the pikmin friendship level because I am really tired of getting sticker costumes for my pikmin as I don’t like it because so many of them have the same costume. The only interesting costume I have gotten is the hair saloon style costumes. Please at least add 1 feature from here I would hate to see another game like this that has a lot of potential and just die immediately after a week.
