Nerd Survivors is a fantastic addition to the 'bullet heaven' or 'reverse bullet-hell' genre. It leans heavily into a charming, self-aware geek aesthetic that feels fresh compared to the grimdark fantasy of Vampire Survivors. Playing as a 'nerd' using makeshift gadgets to survive waves of enemies is both hilarious and mechanically satisfying. The weapon synergies are the real highlight; finding that one combination of items that turns you into a walking engine of destruction is pure joy.
The meta-progression is solid, with plenty of upgrades to keep you saying 'just one more run.' The difficulty spikes are well-tuned, forcing you to actually think about your build rather than just walking in circles. It’s colorful, funny, and incredibly addictive. If you’re a fan of roguelike survivors, this is easily one of the best iterations available on mobile right now.
Fast-paced roguelike survival gameplay
Hundreds of weapon and item combinations
Unique characters with specialized playstyles
Epic boss fights and infinite replayability
Pay attention to the 'Evolution' requirements. Certain weapons, when paired with the right passive item, can evolve into a 'Super Weapon' at level 8, which is crucial for surviving the final boss.
Use the gold you collect during runs to buy permanent stat boosts in the 'Power Up' menu. Focus on 'Health Regrow' and 'Move Speed' early on for better survivability.
The Magnet pulls all XP gems currently on the screen toward you, allowing you to level up multiple times instantly without moving into danger.
I love the art style and the breakable levels takes me back to classic beat ‘em ups like TMNT and Street Fighter 2. But what really impressed me is the data collection or lack thereof. They don’t spy on you AT ALL. Look at all your other apps. They’re all selling your data. These guys shouldn’t be so rare but they are. Plus they don’t even force ads for devs who do spy on you. This needs to be supported and catch on. Thank you guys. I’ll happily spend money on honest games and devs.
Similar to the Vampire Survivor type games, I like it. Some clever little jokes thrown in. Good playability. I really like it so far. What I really like is they say they won’t use any ads except from their own games because they don’t want to promote games that are platforms for ads and happen to have a cheesy game thrown in in between them. I never actually saw any ads but I love that stance and decided it was worth it to support the developer. Kudos to you guys!
I don’t know much about Doom and Destiny but this looked like a humorous spin on vampire survivors, so I picked it up. I was not disappointed! The game plays great and checks all the boxes for the genre. After a few hours with the game I’d like to see more weapons added and a little less grind in the beginning to get more useful unlocks. Anyway, this is a fun title if you like this type of action roguelite, and it was clearly made by passionate developers. Worth it!
Thanks for offering the lite version of this game. Liked the game so much, that I bought this ad feee version! Thank you for making such a great game and a demo (lite) version to try before I buy—wish everyone would do this. Highly recommend by me!
Excellent survivor/shooter. Packed with physical and magical weapons and skills to collect and upgrade. Lots of fun and interesting maps. I only would fuss over it needing more maps and variety, buts its early so no star loss. No IAPs! At least so far. Really enjoying this game.
Having actually played the game now: * The graphics are cute and the effects are nice. * I like the breakable terrain. * Unlocks are fun and game progresses at a decent pace. *PLEASE include an ‘effects opacity’ option. The game emphasizes maneuverability to avoid boss attacks, but I end up being unable to see the attack markers because the screen is swamped by my own effect spam.
If you can play with your friends in online mode, I think it will be very popular!
Such a fun game! So glad it’s one price, no in app purchases and no ads! Wish there were more games like this. ❤️
