Small fixes and improvements. Thank you for playing Merge Mansion.
Merge Mansion is the gold standard for the 'renovate the estate' genre of mobile games. What starts as a simple task—cleaning up your grandmother's dusty driveway—quickly spirals into a legitimate soap opera filled with family secrets and suspicious behavior from Grandma Ursula. The narrative hook is surprisingly strong; you actually find yourself wanting to merge items just to see the next bit of dialogue or find out what’s behind the next locked gate.
The core loop is satisfyingly tactile. Dragging two gardening gloves together to create a higher-level tool feels weighty, and the strategy of managing your limited board space keeps your brain engaged without being stressful. While the energy system can be a bit restrictive during long play sessions, it perfectly suits the casual, 'pick up and play' nature of the game. It’s a polished, charming, and genuinely mysterious experience that stays interesting long after other merge games have grown stale.
Engaging mystery-driven storyline
Satisfying merge mechanics and progression
Beautifully detailed mansion environments to restore
Frequent seasonal events and new areas
Always try to keep at least 4-5 empty spaces on your board. If you run out of space, sell low-level items like seeds or small tools to make room for high-level producers that generate more valuable items.
Tap on source items like Tool Barrels or Gardening Toolboxes to spawn items. Merge two identical items to level them up. The higher the level, the more complex the renovation tasks you can complete.
Energy refills over time, or you can watch ads and use diamonds to get an immediate boost to continue merging.
Honestly I’ve played this game for a little while, really happy to keep finding more areas, more item chains to unlock, and more events for decorations! I’m thankful that the storage cost was cut though I’d probably want even more storage slots out of greed haha. In some events you in fact gain access to a whole other board and I am fascinated how the game sticks to one whole board throughout the levels. I’d be curious if there’s any plans to add permanent upgrades maybe bought by high-level items, gold, gems, or unlocked through levels. While sometimes it feels as though it’ll be awhile to gain the gold to get more storage, or enough experience to level up, it somewhat progresses slowly as you complete the previous area and side quests. The main problem I noticed at the moment is when I complete areas. In the beginning there’s the classic “Grandma Ursula shares a little bit of story and then pretends likes she has elsewhere to be”, but now whenever I complete a zone there’s no dialogue whatsoever over the discovery, the completion, anything. It feels less like “finding secrets” and more like I’m just cleaning out Grandma's vacation home. Not to mention some actions you complete in an area just make a mess to clean up afterwards…. Oh! And when the heck are we going to see what’s in the mansion? You know, the one the game and trailers are all focused on? Either way I still do enjoy this game a lot and couldn’t give it any less than the 5 stars it deserves.
So I have been playing this game for a solid 2 months. I love how it is not super easy to progress but its not too hard either. It gives you something to work towards like the Stone Can on the statue. Some things that I would like to see changed (this is very picky details) would be the XP gained per level. Sometimes completing levels give you only 1 XP upon completion. I think this is a lack luster reward I think that all missions should give 5 XP or more not 1 or more. I am level 13 and it takes I think ~500 XP to get to the next level so I have to grind out the 50 XP flowers all the time to get anywhere. Another minor detail I would like to see would be timers on the resources (this would be like the tool barrel or the toy car) if there were timers on when I can check back and merge more items I think it would be more player friendly than having to rely on the gem count. The last minor detail is that when you start clearing out the Garage you should unlock new squares or rows in the merging space. It makes sense that when you clear out the place you are merging items at then you should have more space there. I think the space provided is good for starting out, but when you have to dust something with the level 8 duster; it becomes super hard to make space for other ongoing objectives like orange flowers or the Stone Can. I think this game is super great and with future updates I think this will be noted as one of the best merge games that is not out there to get your money. Keep up the great work Devs!
I’ve been playing Merge Mansion for a few years now. I love the game but there are too Many things that take too Long to accomplish. I play throughout the nearly everyday. I’ve spent money to by things and I’ve played the events. I’ve never finished an event but have only come close. And that’s playing everyday. The storage boxes are too few and too expensive. I’m beginning to think this is more about making money than to get through the story line and allow your players to enjoy and get due rewards for how far they’ve come in the game. I’m getting frustrated and beginning to get bored because it takes so long to get certain things done and I get it that it us about making a little bit of money too. But I think there are too few game rewards according too accomplishment in the progress in the game. I’m Thinking of quitting and deleting the game even though I’ve invested time and money. Granny’s story was intriguing but there is little progress in the story as a whole after two years I’m Only just now getting to granny being arrested and now released. I feel I should be further in the story do I am seriously considering stopping because of the meager rewards and the slow progress even though I play the game constantly. Chalking it up to someone really wanting to Milk it for all the money you can get. I hate that because I have stuck with it for 2 years plus. It’s also taking up allot of space on my phone for what it gives in return.
I’ve been hooked on this game for well over a year. I loved 2048 when that was a viral game and this is on that same wavelength just with purdy pictures. They’ve recently added events and t looks like there’s going to be maybe one a month now. Now I LOVE the events. They have all been entertaining. Every event has some new mechanic and you can tell they are trying to find the perfect balance. I’ve gotten to where I save my gold energies for the events so that I can maximize my play time and try to complete the event. For this one (Hopeberry festival) I know I did the best most efficient job I could without spending tangible money on it. But I just couldn’t finish the event. I had plenty of energy and gems saved up. But I just could not push past the items needed. I got close, but ultimately missed the mark. Last night I thought to myself “if I just had one more day I probably could have made it” and what do you know but when I logged in today it offered to extend the event 2 days…. For 4.99. Don’t do this. One thing I like about the game is that everything is attainable without paying. It might take longer but you can do it if you commit. I want the testing of events to be about that fine line where you can make it but you really got t work at it. Instead I think the fine line they went for was “just close enough but need that one little $5 push to actually make it”. Don’t do that. That’s just disheartening to your long time fans
I see adds for these merging games alllll the time and I have just never seen the point in them. I downloaded this one on a whim, and I honestly really enjoy it! I just started playing again after about 8 months and it’s definitely a nice stress reliever after a long day. I think for me the thing I find most frustrating is the lack of space on the board, as well as the fact that there’s no way to increase your daily energy output. A leveling system would be great to get more daily energy. Even if you just got one extra energy every 5 levels. They do make getting coins pretty easy which you can of course buy storage space with, but man does it get expensive. I respect that these games have to make money somehow, but it would make a lot more since if items stacked in storage. If I put three of the same item in there it really shouldn’t take up 3 spaces. I would think people would be more likely to spend real money on energy than coins, so if there was more space to use up energy creating items, it would be more likely that people would spend on energy/gems to get energy. It would also help with the extremelyyyyy slow pacing the further down the road you get as you would be able to complete tasks a little sooner. I mean really all of the tasks I’ve had recently have taken me days if not longer just to get one of likely two items to complete the task, and that’s with me playing regularly over a weekend as I’m not at work. The slow pace is the reason I stopped playing for so long in the first place.
I’ve been playing this for over a year and am up to level 47, but it is a slow crawl. It’s now a 27 day wait for the next room of the mansion to be available? Meanwhile, they bombard you with side events. Ok fine, I’ll stray from the main work of the mansion repair to participate in the events. But the events are nearly impossible to win or progress in without spending $20 or more. I understand the game needs to make money and I appreciate that there’s no ads. It’s a big reason why I’ve stayed with this game. But the events are clearly just distractions and money grabs. $4.99 here and there for an ad free game seems reasonable. I have paid that throughout playing. But then $20 packages for some energy and items to merge to get anywhere with the side events (you don’t even get to keep the items!) is getting quite old and tiresome. I also just discovered that they put a cap on the number of storage spaces! As you progress, the storage cells do become necessary. After charging up to 56,000 coins for a storage space, it taps out. You can’t buy any more. Pretty discouraging after putting so much time and effort and energy and money into this game. Now I’m stuck with the impossible and time wasting side events for a few weeks until the next room of the mansion is available. Maybe they should put more effort into the mansion itself than all these unnecessary side events that don’t really contribute to the mansion itself other than cheesy decorations.
I find this game to be exactly what I would expect from this sort of game that’s been around for as long as it has. It reloads the app every time you shut your phone or flip to a different app for more than three seconds because the files are so big, for one thing. Another main thing is that, like any other “free” game, it is truly for profit and they have their ways of aggressively trying to push you to spend real money. However, what I like about it is that, of all the different merge games I’ve tried, it has the most ftp options and is the least aggressive in trying to get you to pay for stuff. You absolutely can play this game without spending money and it’s actually not that bad. The game itself is fun and, at least where I’m at more toward the beginning (Rufus’ park, pool house, and romantic spot), the pacing is great and I really like having multiple spaces available to work with so you aren’t just waiting for one producer because there’s only one task in one space available. Now, to be fair, what I just described was very much a problem until I got to this point of having more options, so the pacing in the very beginning could use some work. However, I found that waiting for the one singular task I had was a great time to work on other stuff like trades or putting together the mosaic and romantic stuff, so it all worked out for me. Overall, it’s a good game and my only complaints are capitalism and file size.
Update: new version is broken for me. Goals modal won’t close, images on it don’t show, and secondary modal if I click an info icon on it don’t close. Unplayable for now. Tried to report an issue but help/support is a maze of unhelpful info and no easy bug report. So I had to resort to a review. I had tried a few merge games before this one and the gameplay and graphics just did not interest me. Until this one. I like having tasks to complete areas and daily tasks. The items are interesting enough. It’s a good game to spend a few minutes here and there. Usually by now, I’d have spent a little money in a game I’ve played for some weeks. But it feels like the maker keeps changing the productivity of items, for the worse. Like my level X tool box used to spit out a good mix of items at higher and lower levels, then after an update did more lower than higher, and now with the latest update does almost all low level items—which is barely better than what a much lower level toolbox will yield. And then I’ll get 4 tasks in my 2 open areas that all need the highest level item from the toolbox. The last time it literally took me 4 days to complete one task. Then I still had two more. It felt like a deliberate manipulation to make me pay money for speeding up recovery time and buying energy. Which, hey, I get. The devs gotta make buck. But it has become such a joke that it’s not as fun and I feel like just trying a different game instead of throwing some cash to this one.
