Dinsun Expert Review

Our Expert Score

85/100

Seaside Escape is a standout in the merge genre, largely due to its high production value and engaging narrative. Rowan’s story of redemption after a career collapse provides a much stronger emotional hook than your average 'fix up a house' game. The character writing is genuinely charming, making you actually care about the residents of Kryphos.

The merge mechanics are familiar but extremely polished. The item chains are logical, and the pacing of energy and rewards feels balanced—though you'll definitely be tempted by the energy packs in the shop. The live events, like Rowan's Scrapbook, keep things fresh for long-term players. If you're a fan of Gossip Harbor or Merge County, this is a refined version of that formula that’s definitely worth the download.

This is one of my favorite games

I love this game! The graphics are great, the story line is fun, rewards are easy to come by, you have the option to purchase more rewards but you don’t have to in order to succeed in the game. There are always side quests going on that give you more rewards. There are only two things that I find myself constantly wishing were improved, one of them is that some items are extremely difficult to get from an energy source. If the energy source produces speakers and microphones, and the microphone produces drums and music boxes, it may take me multiple rounds and hundreds of energy bolts before I can get the music box I need. I wish it was more even on which items are produced because I would like to use my energy to complete orders rather than using my energy and filling up my board and still not get the one item I need. The other complaint is with the side quests for rewards. I love that we get to do them and it makes playing the game very fun but some of them will put like flowers or candy on the board and you have to merge those but it’s random when you get them and they have multiple levels so it takes up SO much room and you can’t delete or sell them so I run out of room on my board to merge items i need to complete the orders. That gets really frustrating because I want to keep playing but I have to sell items I might actually use or purchase more inventory spaces that get more and more expensive. I love the side quests but I would rather play them on a separate board or have them auto collect so it doesn’t take up 5-6 spots on my board. Other than that, this is one of my favorite merge games and I highly recommend it

Love love love Game, but NEEDS more Energy or Gems

I love this game, I am at level 192. Once in a while, you’re able to play for extended times and that is usually due to the mini games that they have going on at the same time. They seem to earn quicker rewards, but only some of them help you earn faster. After a while you figure out which one’s do and which ones don’t. I really like the bingo and I like the train. Fairground’s and a couple others (sorry not remembering the names) where you turn in two items at a time down the list seem to be just a waste of your energy, it takes too long to earn those items for such a small reward. The bigger reward is at the end, but seems almost impossible to get through by the time it ends (I don’t think I’ve ever gotten the reward so I stopped playing those mini games). I do think you should earn energy and gems quicker so that if you choose to play longer, you may. Many times I’m forced to stop playing because I just don’t have enough energy so then I have to go to a different game while I’m waiting. Maybe earning them at a quicker time/rate would be better or just more frequent rewards. When you’re waiting for a bubble to pop and it gives you one coin when it was a high item seems kind of a letdown. I do enjoy the Mini stories and it’s a pretty soothing game. I like that it does not make me anxious. Thanks for providing a great game, just wish those few things were a little better.

I Really Like This Game, But…….

I really like this game but it is definitely a money stealer. The energy that you have to use just to make the merges are ridiculous. Then once you get so far there is another merge category thrown in and then you have all these different areas open for merging and no energy to be able to form what you need or space to form them. If you make the mistake of selling or getting rid of what you need then you have to build that item all the way back up. I have spent so much money just within the last two weeks trying to get the items that the customers and the game are requesting and that’s with me being a pretty good strategist, I feel! If it wasn’t for that this game would be so much better for that reason alone I’m going to eventually have to erase the game, at this point I’ve put out more money in this game then the cost of a utility in my home. There’s not enough perks for that amount of money that I’m spending to play it, it wraps you up pulls you in and then and then you run out of energy. One good perk about it is there is little to no ads but in order to play this game successfully you will pay dearly for that perk! Whoever came up with the plot for this game truly did there job. So this is really a fun game but in order to successfully play you have to Pay! So for that reason is why I gave the game 3 stars it is really a 2 but I do like this game.

Bait and switch game

This game was advertised elsewhere as a tile game which it was until level 20. The tile game had no affect on any other aspect of the game. The description of this game states that it has no advertisements and that’s right to an extent. There are no advertisements from other companies. They have multiple pop-ups about purchasing “gem” or “energy.” So in a sense there are ads to purchase in-game items. The back-to-back pop-ups get frustrating. That brings me to my next point. This is a PAY-TO-WIN type of game. I used up 250 “energy” trying to get one item to merge. That’s for one item. The game gets so complex after a certain point that it becomes annoyingly difficult to play. At the beginning the play is easy. But after it is unnecessarily difficult. Example- you have to be able to generate an item then tap on that item and use up 7 energy for the probability of getting an item you need and you don’t always get it. It takes 3 hours to regenerate 100 “energy.” In some categories there are 12 items so when you’re turning in orders and having to generate an item to get an item you can see where it almost forces you to have to buy gems and energy. I bought gems once and then I realized how often I would have to do it and I never did it again. I have never payed attention to the story line in the game because it wasn’t interesting so I’ve always skipped it. This game is a good time waster when you have nothing else to do but just be ready to be frustrated by many aspects of it.

Fun til it’s not.

I had been enjoying the game a lot. Been going through the leveled at a pretty nice pace until level 30. Been stuck on this one level for two weeks because it gives the same things over and over (in other words, you can’t get the correct pieces to match for the ordered.) Then to top it off, once it looks like you are making a dent in filling the orders needed to level up, they add more. So you are stuck on this one level never making any progress. I’ve also noticed that when I come back to the game after a a few hours, many items I’ve collected that had me close to finishing an order (before I ran out of energy) have disappeared. For example, last night I left the game with an almost full board but ran out of energy. I got out of the game, did some work came back to it after dinner and suddenly the board was only half full. The game deleted half of everything I had worked to collect to get to the next level. The t’s always three stops back with this game and frustrating as hell. The other match and merge games I’ve played do not do this. I play some other match games as well and this one has just lost me. It’s so boring now! I was trying to reach a certain level to get points for fetch, but can’t get to the next level because the game simply will not let me. (I even broke down and bought energy which I NEVER do. I don’t spend money on games.) so yeah, it was ok in the beginning. Now it’s the same bath bombs and fish over and over and over again. bye.

Fun at first

Game was fun at first. And I guess it’s still fun when they have side goals that earn extra energy fast or the treasure boxes that spit out items you need. The frustrating part, once you get further into the game, (I’m at level 68 and have not spent a cent), is you have generators that spit out multiple categories of items. And it always seems that when your looking to get a specific item it produces that category of items significantly less than it would if you weren’t looking for that item, eating up your energy and making it impossible to meet your goal and move on. For example: there’s now a fishing rod generator. It spits out different levels of A. Fish B. Oysters or C. Shrimp…the customers always seem to want a shrimp or oyster item and it RARELY produces those. So you spend hundreds of power bolts, literally, just to start getting close to producing what the customer wants and there’s no way to force it/pick which items you want it to produce. Extremely frustrating to not fulfill orders for days upon days just to continuously have your board fill up with useless items that you can’t gain anything from. Another point is everything is paid for in rubies. Which are very hard to come across. So the ability to use these effectively is nonexistent. I’m sitting here with 73k + in coins and I can’t do anything because I only have 11 rubies. Ridiculous. Make money more useful and create a way to dictate what the generators produce or at least a way to increase the odds of getting the pieces you need!

Fun at first but….

This game is so fun at first but at a certain point you won’t be able to fulfill any orders for days because it’s sooo tedious. I don’t mind the tasks being hard but this is ridiculous. I’m on level 38 so I’ve been playing a while but the only thing to do is merge so if you run out of energy that’s it, a waiting game. I personally don’t spend any money on games like these and this game is designed for you to get frustrated and spend the money constantly. As you progress you will only get hard orders that don’t rlly give you anything in return, for instance 1 order can sometimes take 200 pieces of energy and only give out 2 building boxes which in turn will only give you two tools (if you’re lucky)that you have to wait to use. It takes any where from 3-5pieces of each tool to go with the story because to progress in the story you must build and I don’t even follow the story!! So as I progress the game is becoming unappealing and I definitely won’t be spending money to gain energy because it’ll just be a waste! I’ve been playing for a while and waited to give my review but this is the gist, they start you off slow and free but as you level up you’ll be on an order for a while if you don’t spend money. Even with spending money you’ll just be throwing it away cause again it’s so tedious and the merging takes forever when it’s a higher level item which it usually is as u progress. Honestly about to say goodbye to this game because it’s just not worth it

Scam

I downloaded this game after seeing tik tok videos promoting it by showing a tile game. There is even a picture of the tile game on the game description page, but I am on level 179 and have never seen this game. The only reason I’m on level 179 is because the game is designed to be highly addictive and to try and squeeze as much money out of its users as possible by making the game impossible without buying bundle packages of rewards. As you go up in levels the difficulty increases exponentially, but rewards do not. Top tier items are required to fill most orders that take hundreds of energy points and sometimes days to fill. Energy caps out at 100 (which will buy you nothing) and it takes 2 minutes to earn 1 energy point. This is not a game you can sit down to play for an hour at night before bed. If you actually like playing this game, you must log on several times a day to make sure that your energy doesn’t reach 100 so you can continue to earn. It takes 3 hours and 20 minutes to earn 100 energy points and probably less than 5 minutes to burn through it and still not reaching the level item you are trying to create. I’ve also noticed that it purposely withholds rare items when you need them to fulfill an order and the minute the order is filled they will give the rare item easily. It feels rigged to get you to buy more stuff.
