This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.
Updating videos.
Gameplay, graphics, controls etc. are amazing, and gaming the AIs, which even on hard difficulty play suboptimally, is also fun. The one thing preventing the game from being perfect, is a strange bug previously brought up in another review by LadyIce830. Specifically, when you are about to reach level 10, on the appearance of the final mission you need, the game softlocks, presumably because there are less than 3 missions left to display. Thus, you can never actually reach level 10, obtain the golden scoring stone, and achieve perfect enlightement, no matter how many times you outplay the AIs. I’m curious as to whether Lanterns, or any of DWD’s other digital board games have this strange bug, or if it’s just Lotus.
I wrote to the company many times, and they have tried to be helpful, but they can’t try it on today’s electronics because they don’t seem to have them. It doesn’t work on my iPhone 16+ yet Apple keeps giving me the app when I have to delete it and reinstall. It works on my iPad 13 Pro only for a limited amount of time. After it gets to level four, it quits working. Meaning that it won’t load anymore. It halfway starts to load and gives up. So I’ve tried turning my iPad off as soon as I get to level four generally somewhere in the middle where it stops working, but when I restart my iPad, it won’t load. I think my iPad has an M4 chip that this software does not work well with and I don’t think Apple should be selling this app to unsuspecting consumers when it is incompatible with their new versions. Apple should fix this because the developer won’t. What a shame because I really love this game.
I originally gave this game 1 star due to frustrations at launch with bad connection. That has since been fixed. This is a beautiful game. I love the physical games art and this really just knocks it out of the park. I really love how I can play this game with friends at different times. If they ever get notifications to work this will be a 5 star game. As of now there is no way to know when it’s your turn until you open the app.
First of all I love how beautiful this game is. It’s so calming and relaxing to just look at. The music is also very calming. But I also like that it challenges me at a variety of different levels. If I just want to relax at the end of the day and plan easy game I can do that. Or if I’m feeling up to it I can play a more challenging game and really push the limits of strategy play. This is a super addicting game. So if you have a road trip or a long flight coming up make sure you download this!
I already had this developer’s Lanterns game and like it, so when I found this I thought I’d try it. It’s a similar concept in how it works, and it’s easy to learn but challenging in a fun way, it’s not frustrating. It’s different enough from Lanterns to enjoy both, they’re not redundant. Visually it’s gorgeous too. It’s best on a larger-size phone or iPad, I think it would be too hard to see some elements on a smaller phone. I usually don’t like landscape mode games, but I like this well enough that I can handle that (it’s not the type of game that would work well in portrait, the layout wouldn’t quite work that way). I appreciate the fair premium price and no ads or IAPs. This is another great game by a good developer. I hope it stays updated. Thank you for a great game!
Make sure to play this with the sound on! My wife and I have the board game version of this game at home and were thrilled to see it available for our phones. The multiplayer works great for us - so the developers must’ve fixed the issues from earlier reviews. The sounds, visuals and attention to detail on the actions are all excellent. Great addition to the games folder!
While I love this game, I consistently get caught off guard by the abrupt “end of round”. The game would be more strategic if that phase was more clearly explained. All I know is the game takes over and sometimes a player gets to recoup some points or draw cards but other times this is not so; however I don’t understand why. Otherwise, it’s a very enjoyable game.
I have about a dozen games on my phone. I DL a few here and there over the years. This one has been on my phone for years. I come back to it time after time. It’s simple, challenging, fast, fun. I play it on hard, solo, against computer and don’t always win. It’s a great game.
