Updates to the game engine: Improved stability, reduced CPU and memory usage
Loco Looper is a delightful surprise in the puzzle genre, feeling like a digital 'pop-up book' for train enthusiasts. The game challenges you to build perfect track loops using a limited set of pieces, and the difficulty curve is masterfully handled. It starts simple with 'fluffy clouds' levels and ends with complex, star-spanning diorama puzzles that require genuine spatial reasoning.
The visual style—a 'pen and ink' aesthetic mixed with vibrant 3D dioramas—is stunning. The 'POP' effect when moving your device adds a layer of depth that makes each level feel like a physical toy you’re holding. It’s written in Swift and Metal, and that technical polish shows; the game is incredibly smooth and responsive. It’s more than just a puzzle game; it’s a tiny, whimsical world that rewards your brain with satisfying 'clack-clack' train sounds once you solve a level. A absolute must-play for fans of Railbound or any high-quality indie puzzler.
Handcrafted 3D diorama puzzles
Unique pen-and-ink visual style
Cerebral gameplay with 'Perfect' rating system
Responsive 3D depth effect
Game Center achievements and leaderboards
To get a 'Perfect' rating, you must use all available track pieces and ensure the loop is closed. If you're stuck, wait a few seconds and the tutorial AI will offer hints by highlighting where specific pieces should go.
Drag and drop track tiles onto the grid. You can single-tap to place pieces quickly. Pay attention to the junctions; harder levels have multiple ways to solve the puzzle, but only one will use all your pieces for that 'Perfect' finish.
A 'Perfect' rating is achieved when you solve a level by using every single track piece provided in the tray.
As a lover of puzzles and trains, I am very satisfied with this game! The art is beautiful. The pseudo-AR affect on the levels work wonderfully. The trains and scenery really pop with this art style. Well done! The gameplay is great! The puzzles become challenging. And what might be easy for one person who stumbles into a good process right away may be a difficult level for another. But most all courses have many, many possible solutions. But it is rewarding just to find one on a difficult level :) I didn’t love the method of placing track at first but it eventually becomes second nature. Finally, the developer is very kind and responsive to any questions or feedback. It really makes me happy to see how much the developer loves and supports this game. And the dev should be proud of themeselves! I highly recommend this game.
Super fun little puzzle game. However, it resets me to level cherry everytime I open the game and I have to remove one track and put it back to get back to where I was. This is every single time I open the game. I can’t really advance anymore unless I want to spend 5min catching back up to my furthest progress. If this issue gets fixed it’s an easy 5 star. *edit* god the problem solved so I updated star
I do wish there was an in game hint system. Sometimes I just need a single track or 2 that has the right orientation to help nudge me to the solution. As is you either fiddle with it and hope for the best or look it up if you can’t get it, which doesn’t feel good.
After some initial confusion and frustration with the controls, the developer personally walked me through it and sorted everything out for me :) This is a great game! It's a neat combination of problem solving and building, and the visuals/aesthetics are super cool and original. Very well done sir.
This game is so good, I couldnt accept the fact that it was over! Of course I went back to the app store to see if there was a sequel waiting for me, but NO! Please release a sequel soon. This game makes me want to buy a train set, and Im a GIRL! Great job developers! Smoooch!
I really enjoy playing this game. It starts easy and gets difficult enough that I find some levels very challenging to get a perfect score on. The graphics of the world are nicely drawn. The train is cute, but is a little clunky in comparison to the rest of the graphics.
I saw it mentioned on the AppRaven popular list. Normally I’m not into puzzle games but this one is fantastic. And super well developed. Works great on the iPhone and iPad with a Magic TrackPad 2 (in landscape mode.) iCloud saves seem to be working for cross-device gameplay. Lots of options in the game settings. The game even has multiplayer. Quite amazing.
I'm stuck on a Delta level and can't move forward...
