Update, can’t wait to play Legacy 4, it is out now! I am really enjoying these, I've played all three and I can see the increasing depth of mechanics and story as David's experience grows. I liked the hint system, but used the walk through at times because I wasn't sure how hints were gained, but they did increase as I progressed through the game. There was one yellow room that I couldn't get to, but I am not sure we were supposed to? I would never have figured out the statue's significance without the walkthrough, though I made sense of the rest of the puzzles, and gave myself a slap for missing a couple of the clues. I don't know if it was a glitch that I could reach the green goo from the walkway by the pedestal. I didn't enter that room from where the video indicated the player should appear from, which also meant that there was one doorway I couldn't access in that room. I am anticipating the next episode, especially since the ending caught me off guard when it happened. I should like to have had an option to hit the last couple of steps again, to be sure I didn't miss something, even though getting the completion screen meant I had solved all of the puzzles. Well done over all great fun.

AMAZING GAME

This game is so Incredibly good... It's challenging, the graphics are beautiful, the gameplay is smooth, the puzzles are varied and fun, and it's long.... It's just wonderful. I love the hint system because it helps you without giving anything away. If you really need an answer, there's the walkthrough. It is quite hard so maybe not for beginners, but so many of us are not beginners. It took me a bit to get into the thinking of the game... in any game you always have to get into the way the dev thinks, and this one requires careful thought and attention to detail... the game doesn't do the work for you. But that's what makes it so satisfying when you figure another bit out. It was a happy day when this game arrived in the App Store! I've played all of this dev's games and each one has been great, and they just keep getting better and better. In my opinion this one is up there with all the best games. David Adrian, you are carving out a spot for yourself up at the top with the best of the best. Keep going. More please! Update: played number 4, loved it, reviewed it. 😍

Puzzles!

I’ve been binge-playing these and I love the puzzles- as others have said they’re very challenging but not to the degree you feel like it’s too much of a stretch, like no one would ever think of the answer. The navigation in this game was much improved over the last one, which got to be torturous at the end (in Legacy 2). Being able to fast travel to every room and segmenting the game this time was a huge help, though in the yellow gem “level” there are a couple adjoining rooms that share the same room number in the map, which is something I wish would just be eliminated entirely. I am just nitpicking because this game overall is brilliant! I have no idea how there is just one guy’s name on it. (Liked the credit to “Jennifer” btw if you return to one of the puzzles in particular!) And makes sense to see Harley’s journey after we started with someone searching for Harley who’d been searching for William… glad to have this prequel. Thank you David, whoever you are! Wish there were more games out there with puzzles on this level.

Ok David. This is a real review. Your game was absolutely AMAZING. Beyond words. The graphics were phenomenal. The story was wonderful and intriguing. The puzzles, unlike any I’ve ever done before. They were so much fun and very challenging. I cannot express how much I truly enjoyed this game. It took me 8 hours, 4 minutes, and 53 seconds, according to the end screen with the credits. I really liked the creative puzzles, I’ll never understand how in the world you can come up with such great environments and puzzles that go with them. It’s mind blowing. I’ve now played all 3 and by far, this third installment is my absolute favorite. I enjoyed the Legacy trilogy more than I did The Room series, AND the House of DaVinci games. You are a true genius my friend. Anyone looking for a game better than The Room - definitely get this game. It’s worth every penny, AND MORE. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Good job, David. I’m hoping there’s going to be more, but if not, you ended it with a bang. Literally. 👍🏼❤️

Another impressive design, another head-pounding experience

Yes, Mr. Adrian has a brilliant imagination for scenic design and puzzle creation...but this attitude of telling the player to figure it out completely for themselves or just look up the answer in the (kindly author-provided) videos walkthroughs is grating and IMO shortsighted. I'm almost tempted to knock another star off for a certain puzzle towards the end of the game that brings back moon logic in all its glory. Concerning this title in particular, I certainly appreciated the structure and segmentation of the various challenges...an improvement from the 2nd game. It's clever to incorporate fast travel as a diegetic element but yet it's only implemented half-way, so there remains much extraneous tracking around. The hint system is abstract and clunky...I mean, if it tells you're in the room with the next thing to do, but yet you don't have everything you need to do it, then you're not in the right room(!) Unfortunately, the bittersweet taste of this experience and the previous title have turned me off the Legacy series...there are plenty of other games to play.

Amazing Game

Though it can get a little tough at times, it’s kind of the perfect level of difficulty, the perfect length game (I found myself thinking it was over until I was pleasantly surprised with the yellow level) and a beautiful atmosphere. I finished Legacy 4 and decided to go back and play the first 3 again. Not to liken everything to the Room series, but if you’re a fan of The Room, House of DaVinci, et. al, you know there aren’t many games that stand up to them. This series absolutely does, but it’s a bit different. Equally creative I would say, and perhaps a touch more difficult/complex (there are a few times when you have to go back to a room you haven’t been in in quite some time). Hint system is great without giving too much away (do you have what you need to solve the next puzzle, and is the puzzle in this room). Brilliant, and Bravo!

I liked better than Myst

Very enjoyable while also being very challenging. David did a great job with all of it. Some of it was so hard that I wished for better clues. The clue of me being in the right room didn’t help a lot when I already knew that and still was at a loss for where to turn next. Maybe put a clock on the clues with the next update David and after certain amounts of game play time have elapsed give a stronger hint toward the next step. I don’t like going to the tube in order to get the answer given to me but would rather have increasing hint power to help me figure out what I’m doing wrong. But again, very good and definitely would charge for this. Missing out. I would have paid for them after the first. Give folks the first for free but then make a little money. Great job David!

Definitely the best of the Legacy games so far and all in all an entertaining challenge. Legacy 2 often felt too sprawling, with clues and action points leapfrogging about through a couple dozen rooms. Though of a similar size, this game mostly corrects that by breaking the challenge into self-contained sections. There’s some crossover and backtracking between sections, but much of that is logically deductible. Not all, though: by the final section some of the interconnections and puzzle solutions become pretty abstruse. Also some of the actions required by that point depart from the established patterns of the game (e.g. yarn, brush), making it beyond difficult to arrive at a solution organically. Overall this game presents great graphics, immersive atmosphere, hours of legitimately challenging puzzle solving, and only a little bit of overshooting the mark near the end. Well worth the price of admission for fans of the genre. Hope to see more from this developer soon.
