Review plus an issue with the new update

Idle Siege offers an engaging blend of strategy and incremental gameplay that keeps players hooked. The graphics are charming and colorful, providing a delightful aesthetic that enhances the gaming experience. Players can enjoy a variety of units and upgrades, which adds depth to the strategy involved in conquering territories. The idle mechanics allow for a laid-back approach, making it perfect for players who enjoy picking up the game at their own pace. The progression system is satisfying, rewarding players with new content and challenges as they advance. The humor infused throughout the game adds a light-hearted touch, making battles feel fun rather than overly serious. Community events and updates ensure that there's always something new to explore, keeping the gameplay fresh. The user interface is intuitive, making it easy for both new and veteran players to navigate. Additionally, the game balances free-to-play elements well, allowing for a rewarding experience without feeling forced to spend money. Overall, Idle Siege successfully combines strategy, humor, and idle mechanics, making it an enjoyable experience for gamers looking for a unique mobile title. It's a must-try for anyone who enjoys a blend of action and strategy! I’m not sure if it’s just me, but the new update has caused a glitch where I get a "no internet" warning every time I try to do something in the game, and it’s wasted a lot of my resources for no reason.

I love the game but…

This game is amazing I’ve loved playing it sense it was relatively new. It offers so much to it and is a great game overall. The only thing about it is that y’all advertise giant battles on the pictures when u look at the app and what you do in it, but when you load the game see what it is, it’s underwhelming. What I mean by this is, we need bigger battles, I feel like we don’t have enough of a big army. I’m sure you can just make the siege maps bigger to compromise this, but i feel like if you made it possible to somewhat have big army’s that could make the game a lot more enjoyable. This could also give more troop slots and maybe even more variety to troops. Instead of just your regular axe wielding infantry, you could add sword and shield troops or even spear troops which could make a phalanx. Another idea is related to the one of the newer features, the base, it’s pretty useless. Maybe for the base it could actually be a base, you could build you’re own castle to how you want it. And maybe make a new currency for the base called base coins or something. This currency would be for the base only. This would allow us to be limited to building our base but make it a challenge and more likely to stay hooked to the game. You could use any defense or decor that is in any other castle but you would be limited based on how much castle money you would have. Obviously these are just suggestions, but it would be really cool if some of this could be added.

Fun but major flaws

Overall I have a great time playing this game. I can’t give it more than 3 stars because of how the developers went about the “idle” part of this game. There’s a 2 hour cap on the money gathering and damage dealing for this game, opposed to nearly every other game in this genre having no cap. This isn’t a problem in the first few levels, it’s when you get beyond those few levels it becomes apparent. The little amount of gold you earn per minute combined with the 2 hour cap leads to spending multiple days to get through parts of stages, not even the whole thing. For some people who are able to get on every 2 hours this may not pose a problem but for people like me who work and play these games because I get to see the progress it’s made while in my pocket over the 8+ hours, it’s frustrating and almost a deal breaker. Compounded on that issue is the fact that you can pay to increase the offline time but it’s $4 for only 3 extra hours. Anyone doing simple math can see that buying that 7 times will only get you to 23/24 hours so for the last purchase of another $4 you’d only get 1 hour. $32 for 22 more hours is a ridiculous amount. TLDR: fun for a bit but be prepared to be frustrated by the extremely slow progress in later stages and the expensive micro transactions.

The PVE is fine, but the arena needs work

I have now played this game for one week and I am finding the game kinda fun. The fact that you need to think about what the enemy has and switching out your troops accordingly is makes it so that the game is not totally idle. The issue that I have run across takes place in Arena, and I just temporarily got to Silver I and I ran into a very major flaw. When a player, either someone that has been playing for a long time, or more likely a whale, stops playing area for a very long time, they end up falling from the arena league that would be more appropriate for their power level, into a lower level, into a group of players that usually can’t possibly defeat them, while you can see how powerful the force is in the preview, this is happening in bulk so you have large amounts of powerful offline players diluting the lower rank, but more appropriate players, out of the rank’s matchmaker. I know this because I saw that a couple of the high level players have a higher rank profile frame. The game doesn’t account for when a player has stopped playing the game or stopped going to arena for soo long that the cat’s among the pidgins.

Just a Cash Grab Idle game.

I have been following Idle Siege for a while now. The game as is now is not worth playing. It has turned into a mockery adding elements. I think the games mechanics of using different hero's and troops was a phenomenal game idea. Instead of reworking troops and adding more hero's, Elements were added. It truly limits the game because all this time I spent upgrading hero's was for virtually nothing when you can only have one activate on element at a time. To put into perspective, I have submitted countless bug reports and ideas whenever I spotted one to help improve the game and that feature is now gone. My biggest flaw with this game is the fact that they changed the price for Ad-Free. 3.99$ used to buy you two weeks and now it only lasts one week. Seeing the game is nearing completion, its a shame seeing this element feature added. It just doesn’t make sense. I can get behind it if it was done properly but it’s just not balanced. All in all, what used to be a neat concept and fun game turned into a cash grab where the Dev’s will try and siphon money any chance they get. I am all for buying in-app purchases but only for games that are worth them. This is not one of them.

Addicting but just a cash grab

TLDR: Fun idle game mechanics that are overshadowed by mechanics that are designed to make money on a quick player turn around. I have sank way too much time into this game. It’s overall design is addicting and a great time passer. It’s major flaw is how it goes about micro transactions. I don’t think there is anything wrong with micro transactions in a free mobile game but the are extremely under valuing in game. This biggest example is the ability to pay for no ads. You pay $4 for TWO WEEKS of no ads. Why not just raise the price to $10 and make it last forever. It’s specifically punishes players who don’t drop the game after a couple weeks. So let’s say you pay your precious real life money and buy the no ads subscription. The amount of ads you get to skip are ridiculously low for the price. It seems worth it until you get to world stage 4 and the amount of “free upgrades” your getting are so minimal. Please developers, reward your consistent players with a system that isn’t so pushed towards making a quick buck off of new players.

Fun but getting nowhere
Sat Feb 12 2022 Flame_dragon627

Game is enjoyable with the concept as an idle game and progressing a little everyday. I have bought the ad free 4 or 5 times now and put some money In here and there. 1st event was cool completed and got everything, 2 weeks ago I finished the main map thinking on to the next.. no I’m just going back to older stuff I finished and progressing nowhere except a few extra items.. not to mention the cool 1st event has been the same event like 5 times now.. i mean come on man, you expect me to pay you every 15 days for no ads to do the same ol crap I’ve already completed over and over?? Nah forget that your game is growing stale I understand it’s fairly new but releasing same ol content events over and over. Than not being able to progress anywhere else after first map.. Game needs to devs need to be quicker about releasing content, and stop doing the same events.. not getting any more of my money until you work on the content.. 3 stars if something changes I’ll update it..

Fun but last update was enough to not recommend
Mon Nov 08 2021 A.K.burton

The game is good but I can’t recommend if you’re new. The recent update put level requirements on hero placement and removed their health and attack buffs from the units. I was annoyed with this but I could still use some of my hero so it was ok (even with the greatly reduced health and damage) but then the event came around it’s cool and fun. However the only way to get the hero Leonidas is to pay for him….. I’ve spent like $10 on this game felt like It’s all been fair prices and deals but to get the Leo I have to spend $10 and then play the event… I spent like $3 each and got Odin, Blackbeard and the dragon queen. Now I I have to spend triple AND play to get a similar thing. Atleast give us one for maxing out the event for free or let him drop from the chests just make it a low chance. This and I was on the last keep of the desert are and when I finished it put me back in the middle of the desert area pretty annoyed with that
