Horizon Chase: Top Gear (SNES) Meets NFS

Horizon Chase brings high octane racing from Top Gear, with the aesthetics of a Need For Speed game, in that it's vibrant and colorful, and high octane in that it requires quick reaction times and split second decision making. The game is almost the antithesis of a common mobile game, you unlock cars by racing your heart out in world tour cups, bonus circuits, or campaign mode races. The use for real money? buying campaigns of course! some do come with cars, but every car has a campaign bundled in with it, one that fits with the car's aesthetic. The only break in this rule is the old car set, which is only cars. The World Tour is where you'll spend most of your time outside of campaigns. It's where bonus races and cups give you cars, and the in game currency. This currency is used to unlock stuff early, such as bonus races or entire locations. Overall, this game is incredible in execution.

Needs more, but still really fun to play

Awesome, but it needs more. I love the game and how it’s developed but it lacks a lot of things that would make it REALLY good. First of all the price to buy the full version is a bit much in my opinion. Maybe $1.99 or something instead of $2.99 would work better for me. But as for the actual game, I wish there were more features other than just racing around some simplistic tracks. It would be cool to really customize your car with lots of cool options like paint, decals, body kits, wings, etc. I’d also love to see features like free roam (in an endless city or something based on whichever region you choose), friend racing, and creating your own tracks. This would add another amazing layer to the game and would really make me want to continue playing and purchasing things in-game. It’s been 4 months as of me writing this, since the developers had their last update, so I hope they didn’t just abandon the game. I hope they listen to this and consider what I and many others are saying. Thanks :)

Great Game! Needs Fixes...

I’ve had this game for about a year now but I mainly played it on my iPad before I downloaded it on my phone. The graphics of the game are phenomenal better than any racing game I’ve seen on the App Store! The tracks are very creative and the cars are just awesome! One problem I have with this game is that it’s constantly crashing... There are times when I launch the app and the game just crashes on start up. There are other times when I put my phone on sleep mode and leave the app in the background running and when I go and start playing again it just crashes which is really annoying. Another thing, one time I was playing the game and racking up my points to unlock the cups and bonus races. Not even 1 hour into the game and I crashes and I lost all my data that I saved in the last 15 minutes. I was mad to reopen my game and notice that the wins I had saved were gone. I just hope that this gets fixed cause I don’t want to have to go through the crashes again! Thank You.

Great racing game that is not too easy

I don’t write many reviews but I’m looking at the people complaining about the fact that you crash or you start in the back and I just felt the need to say how much I like this game. Is it perfect? No. But I am glad it is not too easy even though some tracks are frustrating, you just have to choose the right car for the course and you can take 1st place on every track. There are a few annoying little glitches in the interface but not during the races that I am seeing at all and I have been playing for at least a couple years. I would like to see more new tracks and a better way to customize the different rides because there are some cars that are never a good choice.

Perfect revival of arcade racers

Those complaining about the blind turns and difficulty never played OutRun. That's exactly how the quarter eaters used to be. One mistake cost you the race so you had to practice and memorize the tracks! The controls are spot on and the price is very reasonable. The graphics are a very interesting hybrid and plays without any stuttering on my 6s. I'm worried the in-app purchase prevents family sharing but it's not that much and the game is well worth buying for each device if you have to. Also,the fact that nitro is given at the start of every race when they could have made it a pay-consumable is huge and one of the reasons I'm buying the full version.

It’s hard to find a good racing game but this is it

It has amazing levels and its a good challenge. So you play the levels and you get points to open more levels. I say all this but there is a down side. In some races you feel like a different car would be better for the race but free to play player don’t get this. You are stuck with a single red and you have to buy a pass to get a new car. I understand the price isn’t bad but I also don’t want to pay for this when I can just play a different game. The only free things is the world tour and three races from daily challenges. I love playing this game, it’s just hard when u don’t have the greatest car. You don’t need a different car to win but it would be nice to maybe change the color or maybe the shape. By the end of the day, still a good game

Timeless Thrill

I remember when this game was released back when I was still in high school, and I loved playing it on the school bus on my way back home. The emotional music, stunning graphics on my iPhone 8 plus, and timely gameplay kept me wanting to reach the sunset in the background. Coming back to it many years later, not only gets extra points for nostalgia, but keeps and adds points for being as good as i remember. Not many games nowadays can keep up with themselves, but the devs did great on this. Thanks for a great game, and I can’t wait to hop into Horizon Chase 2 after I beat this one a second time.
