Asphalt Legends Unite (formerly Asphalt 9) is arguably the pinnacle of arcade racing on mobile. The visual fidelity is staggering, with particle effects, motion blur, and car models that rival early last-gen consoles. The 'TouchDrive' control scheme is a masterstroke for mobile—it handles the steering while you focus on the timing of drifts, jumps, and nitro, making it incredibly accessible for casual play while still offering manual controls for purists.
The game is packed with content, from a massive career mode to high-stakes multiplayer seasons. The car list is a dream for any gearhead, featuring licensed beasts from Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Bugatti. While the monetization and 'gas' system can be a bit intrusive during long sessions, the sheer polish and adrenaline-pumping speed make it hard to put down. It’s not a simulator, but as an over-the-top, nitro-fueled action racer, it has no equal.
200+ licensed hypercars
HDR graphics and stunning tracks
Innovative TouchDrive controls
8-player real-time multiplayer
Extensive car customization
To get a 'Perfect Nitro' boost, tap the nitro button once, wait for the bar to hit the blue zone, and tap it again. For maximum speed, use the 'Shockwave' by double-tapping the nitro button when the bar is full.
Double-tap the brake button while driving to perform a 360 spin; this is great for knocking down opponents and filling your nitro bar. Drifting around long corners is also essential for maintaining high nitro levels.
TouchDrive is an assisted driving mode that handles steering, allowing players to focus on nitro timing, drifting, and lane selection by swiping left or right.
Hey Gameloft, I love how you have now listened to the community, although there are a few complaints that would need to be addressed and a few humble suggestions. First of all, I hate how we still have to pay up to get some of the strongest cars or a car you really want. Yes, I understand you need to make money, but at least have some balance. Also, make sure matchmaking online is also balanced and fair. I’ve had races where I was the only silver and the others were gold. Now for some suggestions, I think it would be great if you added the 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. It got legalized here in the USA, so it only makes sense to add it, but please make it free or at the very least have a car hunt for it instead of making it a legend pass car because 10 times out of 10, I’m not buying the legend pass. Another suggestion would be to add past legend pass cars to the show room. There are a lot of cars I want but can’t get anymore because they were legend pass cars, so adding legend pass cars like the Lamborghini Huracán STO or Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 would definitely help players progress faster. Now I’m not saying you should add every legend pass car at once on the next season, maybe just add 5 or 6 at a time, and when you’re all caught up, you can either wait 5 or 6 seasons to add more show room cars or wait until the current season is over so you can add that car to the show room. Hopefully you listen!
This game is very fun. The events are engaging and interesting. There’s always something new to do everyday. TONS of great cars and lots of mods for each. In particular the paint jobs you can unlock keep (most of) your favorite cars interesting and fresh as they get used for race after race. There are several body kit options for (most of) your favorite cars to show off your personal style. The draw backs aren’t crippling to the game, but they are glaring. The best and limited time cars are locked behind a paywall. It is possible to obtain them by holding onto every credit you earn to buy card packs that have a percentage drop chance (that is increased if you buy bundle packs). Without spending actual money these cars are EXTREMELY difficult to obtain. Also, behind the pay wall are the body kits. In order to obtain most of them real money has to be spent on the premium “seasonal” subscription. There are “seasonal” benchmarks that are 100% behind said pay wall. In addition, after you complete some objectives there is an option to watch an ad for additional credits and some “free” card packs. This is completely optional, but needed to be mentioned. In summary, is this game fun? It is if you like fast cars and stupid slow-mo crash scenes. I’ve never spent a dime on this game and love it completely. I have minor gripes and complaints, but at the end of they day they’re a company trying to make money. I cannot fault them for that. And they made a dammed good game! As a side note: What’s up with Nissan not letting me paint their cars fun colors!?!
A highly addictive free-to-play racer that has an amazing selection of cars and enough single and multiplayer challenges to keep you engaged. You can have a completely free experience (no in-game transactions), but you just need to wait for your tickets to refill. You can watch ads to speed things up and to add credits and tokens to your account. This is where I have a bone to pick. I know that the ads is what keeps this game free and I have no problem with that. It’s that as a developer of the game you should be able to control the length and format of the ads for consistency. Some ads are nice and short 10-15 sec while some are over 30 sec and can be a short ad that’s repeated multiple times. Some are in landscape view (which is what the game is in) but some ads can be fixed in portrait. Some ads require you click a button to move on to the next page several times, and then there are those ads that when you are done and try close it by pressing the “X” button, it takes you either to the app store or it just takes multiple presses to actually close it. There are also times when you can watch an ad after racing to boost your credits, but when you decline, it still runs an ad. As I said, if they could just be consistent and tell advertisers they have a certain time limit, format, and not “trick” you by sending you to the app store, then we can all have a pleasant gaming experience.
I use to play asphalt addictedly but I stop because of how mad I would get when racing online against other players. Since downloading it on Xbox, I find the game fun but there are some things that worry me about the game as to the reason I left. Paying a bundle to get slips for a car seems to be a bit too much. Especially the prices being compared to a game that’s half off. I can see if you added 15 keys for any vehicle in the shop that 3.99 for any car. The rewards when completing story mode doesn’t feel like a rewards. I would like the story to have some replay ability. Instead of the layout being 235, I hope the payout to be 10,000 to 30,000 just to make the gameplay much smoother since the parts are getting more expensive each time we upgrade a car. It’s only right to make the game feel more like a game than a cash grab or pay to win. There should be more customizations than just having 2 parts or a body kit for a car. Creating a free credit event where players can do stuff together to earn a huge payout just to give players more freedom to earn lots of credits to upgrade instead of earning little credits. The last thing is free roam. Free roam should be something that can work in this game because it will not only make it a better game but it could draw more people in investing and the more people that are drawn, the more players you have to make the game much bigger.
Pretty frustrating that the physics are completely different in career mode vs multiplayer mode. Nothing is more discouraging than constantly being wrecked into last place on every multiplayer race over things that never happen in career mode. It doesn’t stop there, for instance in multiplayer mode when you use a nitro shockwave typically you would smash into the car in front of you wrecking them and blasting you forward in position, wrong, not me, i hit the car in front of me and it slows me down and wrecks me, now any other player that shockwaves me from behind wrecks me and blasts them forward. Another inconsistency is being next to someone and bumping them, any other time other players can smash into me multiple times and it wrecks me into last place, but I barely touch another car and it wrecks me not them. Flying through the air off a jump, normally wrecks the car you land on top of, not me, only wrecks me. Can’t count how many times I’ve been in first or second place the whole race only to be wrecked at the end and finish dead last. Not that big of a deal until you lose 45 points for it. It’s either that or you get wrecked in the first 5 seconds out of the gate and end up in last place with no chance of ever catching the rest of the group. Wouldn’t be so frustrating if it was at least consistent. If you’re considering the game I suggest keeping to career mode, multiplayer still needs a lot of work to even be considered a fair contest. Other than the extremely frustrating flawed physics of multiplayer it can be a fun game.
I honestly love MOST of the game but a few things. From the start, I knew it would be a good game from the graphics and the GUI. I continued and soon enough, I found quite a few problems. First, I immediately saw the fact that it would really hate on you if you were only maybe, give or take 12 points below the recommended power level, the cpu would suddenly have the rights to have the ability to literally be able to teleport across the dimensions so it could be ahead. I literally watched the mini-map and one crashed. Almost immediately, the car was spawned right in front of me. Then, right after, I crashed and I spawned way behind and I ended up being in 4th place at the end. I feel like the game should give you a chance to do the race if you have the skill for it. Also, I hate the fact that you need to pay to do certain things. Once I spent nearly a week grinding and right when I got to what I needed, it said I had to get some stupid pass to continue. I also was sooo close to my first s class car when it suddenly said I could only get this cars cards from the pass now. This lead to the fact that I know there is more ads. Whenever I have to use ads to fill my gas tank, I need to either watch 5 million ads or wait for a good 4 hours. This caused me to, well, watch some stupid ads. The game said there was no ads available after like 5 and immediately after, on the shop, I get an advertisement. This then try again and it says there is no ads available for now.I do believe this is a well made game, just with a few flaws.
This is absolutely one of the best games ever. The graphics are as good, maybe better than CSR2’s. And that is high praise. Some cars I want are the Volkswagen W12 Nardo, Shelby Super Snake, Tommykira ZZII, Koenigesegg Agera R, McLaren 720S, and the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat. Also, the Dodge Viper is the SRT Viper. And also, you should add a full service system, for example you could have a engine repair and a body repair, and you have both combined for less money, and also a car wash for like, maybe 1 token or 1,000 credits. For the others, 5,000 credits or 5 tokens for each for class D, then 6,000 credits or 6 tokens for C, 7,000 credits or 7 tokens for B, and so on. You could make both slowly degrade over time or if you wreck it goes to 0% condition, and below 20% it should degrade performance and when your car is dirty you should earn less respect. And when you crash the paint should strip off and it will need a repaint or it will rust in the wet areas and bad paint will degrade respect too, and there should be dents and cracked windows, which degrade the body condition. And you should also make custom parts break and you have to pay to replace them. Also, you should add the new C8 Corvette, and the Mercedes-AMG GT63 S. There also should be a Porsche 911 Carrara S, and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Should be swapped for a Honda Civic Type R. This is really all, and this game is truly one of the best on the App Store I’ve ever played. Thank you for providing this, Gameloft and I can’t wait for Asphalt 10!
Game loft have created a mobile game with so much potential that they have tapped into over the years, however, one thing about this game is blatantly obvious, this game was made to make money, and I get that, it’s a free to play game that must monetize itself somehow, if you haven’t guessed from the title, I have a few ideas for gameloft that might be able to satisfy my fellow free to plays and possible make them more money than they make right now, and it uses two simple ideas 1: for god’s sake PLEASE put in a currency exchange! But also do it right, I’m just pulling out numbers here but if you made it possible to turn 500 credits into 1 token, then this game would be so much better, why 500? Because it’s a decently high number that also doesn’t mess with the credit heist races, where you can get large amounts of credits quickly, that’s why. 2 : do NOT change the prices of tokens that you buy with real money, instead, increase the amount that you receive from buying tokens by at least double, maybe more, and if you really wanna just make money, that only double it, this way, the amount of tokens you get isn’t crazy, but those few people that you target right now feel like they get a better deal and want to but more, and it finally seems worth the price for us free to plays who want a little boost, keeping the current buyers and drawing in new ones. That is all, please, PLEASE gameloft! Give me some feedback here! Let me know if this could work, and if it can’t, tell us! So that we at least know why it is like it is.
