This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.
Updated to support 64-bit iOS devices!
Hey, That's My Fish! HD is a brilliant digital adaptation of the beloved strategy board game. The transition to iOS is seamless, capturing the cutthroat nature of the original where you command a colony of penguins trying to hoard as many fish as possible before the ice floes disappear. What makes this game so compelling is the simplicity of its rules paired with the surprising depth of its strategy. Every time a penguin moves, the tile they were on is removed, slowly shrinking the map and potentially trapping your opponents—or yourself—on isolated islands.
The presentation is top-notch, with charming animations and a clean interface that makes local pass-and-play a breeze. It’s the perfect 'coffee break' game, offering quick matches that demand genuine tactical thinking. Whether you are playing against the surprisingly competent AI or competing with up to three friends, the tension of watching the board disintegrate tile by tile never gets old. It’s an essential pick for board game fans looking for a polished, portable version of a modern classic.
Official digital version of the hit board game
Local multiplayer for up to 4 players
Multiple board configurations and maps
Challenging AI with adjustable difficulty
Retina display optimized graphics
Start by placing your penguins on tiles with only one fish to save the 2-fish and 3-fish tiles for later. Try to move toward the center of the board early on to maintain mobility, then aim to cut off sections of the ice to create private islands for your penguins where they can harvest fish undisturbed.
The game features a robust single-player mode against three difficulty levels of AI. For social gaming, the local multiplayer supports 2 to 4 players in a pass-and-play format, making it an excellent travel companion.
This version focuses on local pass-and-play and single-player against AI; it does not feature online matchmaking.
Dead simple to learn. Tons of player interaction. It was a huge hit on a recent roadtrip. Lots of laughs.
Deleted and fresh install fixed problem
Thank you for the 64 bit upgrade!!!
My 5 1/2 year old daughter and I were looking for a game to play together, and this was the perfect purchase. The gameplay is simple, but the strategy is deep. We enjoyed playing against each other and discussing strategy with positioning close to 3- and 2- fish hexes, and then about closing off an island with lots of fish just for you, and how to make the most of the moves you have left. Then we added computer opponents and the gameplay changed. I'm looking forward to playing this against other adults. An online mode would be fun, but I'm not sure I'd play it or not. Thanks, this was just what I was looking for.
This is a great abstract game we play a lot. Great look and feel, no bugs. Highly recommend. There are a few areas for improvement. First the timer. I love the automatic timer, but the range of times that are selectable are too small. Please update and increase the range of times that canister be selected. 20 seconds is not enough sometimes. At least increase it to a minute and maybe even 5 minutes for very small children. It's not like it would be more than a few minutes of coding to increase the timer time. Also some different ways to configure starting board setup would be nice, but not a big deal as the timer since this would actually take some work to do and isn't as shortsighted as the timer issue.
This is a fun little game I enjoy playing with my daughter. Unfortunately, most of the board layouts are locked until you defeat the computer opponent many times, sometimes in abstract and challenging ways. This makes no sense whatsoever. It's a board game. I want to play it with my family. The developer is asking me to become a master of the game to get at the content I paid for, in the process growing to far exceed the skill level of anyone else in my family. Meaning I either have to covertly handicap myself, which I hate doing, or just not be any fun to play against. Boneheaded decision. But if you don't mind having just the basic layout - or if you intend to play against the AI, which isn't even all that fun to begin with compared to similar products - it's still a pretty enjoyable game to play with your kids.
The only thing that could make this better is online multiplayer, otherwise it is a very polished implementation of a fun board game, and the AI is very good and fun to play with. Hope fantasy flight doesn't stop here, they have many more great games and obviously they have some talented programmers to make it happen! Where's battlelore?! Or Arkham Horror?!
For some time I avoided this game due to the childish theme. My loss. Wonderful, easy to play. Nice list of achievements give replayability. One of the best iPad game to play with kids, and some nice single player options as well. Great implementation and nice graphics. Runs perfect on my iPad 2. Highly recommended!
