bug fixes :)
Dumb Ways to Die is a masterclass in how to turn a public safety announcement into a cultural phenomenon. What started as a PSA for Metro Trains Melbourne has evolved into one of the most charmingly morbid mini-game collections on the App Store. The art style is the secret sauce here—those colorful, bean-like characters are so adorable that watching them get sliced, electrocuted, or eaten by piranhas feels hilarious rather than gruesome.
The gameplay is fast-paced and twitchy, reminiscent of the WarioWare series. You'll go from flicking away piranhas to wiping vomit off the screen or carefully balancing a character to avoid a fall. The escalating speed keeps you on your toes, and the desire to unlock all the characters for your train station provides a genuine sense of progression. While some mini-games can feel a bit repetitive after a long session, the sheer variety and the catchy, iconic theme song make it a must-have for quick bursts of fun.
80+ hilarious mini-games
Iconic, award-winning soundtrack
Character collection and station building
Challenging reflex-based gameplay
The game accelerates as you score higher. Focus on the visual cues immediately as the mini-game starts. For 'Piranhas', keep your fingers moving across the bottom. For 'Balance', use micro-tilts rather than large movements to avoid overcorrecting.
Players face random challenges like 'Clean the Screen', 'Don't Press the Red Button', and 'Connect the Dots'. Success grants points towards unlocking new characters, while three mistakes end the run.
Characters are unlocked by reaching specific point milestones during your gameplay sessions. The more 'dumb ways' you survive, the more characters join your station.
This game is trending on TikTok so I thought I might try it (well at least the song.) It bring back a lot of good memories of me and my brothers playing this. Going into the game I found it’s not as entertaining as it used to be and some of the games are very short. However, I have a small attention span so if whoever is reading this also does, this game is a good one to try out. I find that the ads are a little stretched out. I tried skipping using the 2 arrows that kinda look like this >>. However, when I did it told me to wait another 5 seconds on the new ad. Then I clicked it once it was done and it did it again. I get I skipped the ad but it was very stretched out. Ads are more often then I would like but that’s for a lot of games. Other than that dumb ways to die is very nostalgic and I love to play this game. It fits a large age group which I can appreciate. That’s all I have. I hope you guys enjoy this game just as much as I do. Have a great day!
This game is the best! I'm so amazed! My top score so far is 3648!!!!! I love to play this with my friends and my family! I play this NON STOP! It's so awesome! But, this is what I don't like, so I told you my high score is 3648 right? Well, then I got a character, but then the little blue, stitched up, character with money said, "Score 3000 or more to collect the next character."!!!! So then I was so confused! So here's the story, I was playing, and got my high score, the game glitched a little (which I don't like either) when I saw my new score, so I got out and went into the game again, I went to see if the game saved, it did, then this happened! Okay, next is the ads, SO MANY ADS! After you die, AN AD! It even asks you for another life! That's cool, but still! It's annoying! Here are some suggestions too, So about the more lives, can you ask us if we want to buy lives with coins? Or can you ask us if we want another life in the daily challenges? I really agree with Grumpy dashing hero (please read his/her review if you read mine please?)! But, I want to add to that! Can we be able to use our unlocked characters for when we loose lives for the mini games or challenges? Also, can we also be able to decorate the train and station with ads or coins? I will be soo happy if you guys read this and fix this stuff, thank you so much if you do! I am so glad that this game has so many stars! (Again) THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!! Great job! Thanks again! -Your fan
Played this game and the second one soooo much years ago. Rewatched the original video recently and remembered how good the games were too. And yeah, it’s honestly better than I remember. There’s more content than there used to be and it’s awesome to see the first game in such good condition compared to when I first experienced it. My one and only critique isn’t even entirely the ads, it’s more so that the game is free to download but in reality to play without silly interruption is to pay for no ads. It’s cheap and honestly worth doing, but I’d rather pay 3.99 upfront to download the game rather than have to pay for no ads after trying to get past my first run on the minigames. I don’t hold it against the game too much because it’s super common in mobile games like this anyway. Yeah, Dumb Ways to Die is a mini-masterpiece. Its games are simple but fun, and while they increase in difficulty, you begin to learn the ropes of each game and how to consistently beat them. Some of these games I thought were broken at first, but I actually was able to learn those standout minigames and continuously out-do myself more with each run. Easily a favorite mobile game of mine, and the song still slaps. When I’m mostly done with this game, I guess I’ll move onto the sequel. 🚬🪨
I have had this game forever and remember listening to the dump ways to die song over and over with my cousins and playing constantly to see who could get the best score. I had always had the app on an old iPad that couldn’t update apps so, I always had the same version of the app. I recently got a new phone and was trying to find all the apps that I liked to download and found this app. I was really exited because I heard of all the new updates such as, build a bean, more ways to die😂, daily challenges, and being able to practice different challenges. But with the this new update came sooooooo many ads! Every time you get three tombstones and “die” there’s an ad! Sometimes once you get all three tombstones and “die” they will give you an option to get another life by watching an ad. I will usually skip it but then when I press play again there’s an ad! So what’s the point of watching the ad in the first place! You’re just going to watch one after! Overall this app is really fun, probably one of my favorite apps but these ads are just letting me down.
I recently downloaded this new game app that I was really excited to try out. However, my experience with it has been seriously hampered by the overwhelming number of forced advertisements. I understand that ads are necessary to support the app, but this game takes it to a whole new level. There are so many ads that they disrupt the flow of the game and make it practically unplayable. It's frustrating to be in the middle of a level and suddenly be forced to watch a 30-second ad that you can't skip. And to make matters worse, some of these advertisements are not safe for children. I wouldn't want my little one to stumble upon one of these ads while playing the game. Overall, the gameplay itself is enjoyable, but the excessive ads ruin the experience. It's a shame because I really wanted to like this app, but I don't think I'll be keeping it on my phone for much longer. If the developers can find a way to reduce the number of ads and ensure that all of them are appropriate for all ages, I would definitely reconsider. But until then, I can't recommend this app to anyone who wants to actually enjoy playing games on their phone.
In every free to download game with IAPs, there are always people complaining that the game has too many ads, is hard to play without paying, etc. Guess what?? Game developers have to feed their families and the company has to turn a profit or else why would they even bother? Almost EVERY game has a reasonable “NO ADS” IAP which is totally worth it if you enjoy the gameplay. I don’t mind paying a few bucks to get rid of ads. And new content (DLC) or gameplay is ok to pay for too, if I enjoy what I’ve played so far. True, far too many games push you to buy gems just to play the game without getting totally hit by a paywall and I just avoid those. They start out friendly but they inevitably get greedy and make the IAP costs ridiculous. But a one-time fee to get rid of ads? C’mon people, don’t be morons. If you hate ads that much, pay a little money! It’s not nuclear fusion engineering.
I used to love playing this game on my cousins phone whenever we visited them, and since they live far I haven’t seen them In awhile so I forgot about it, though the catchy theme song would be in my head randomly. I met my cousins again after a year or two and was reminded of this game, so I downloaded it. It brings back a ton of memories and I like it more than I actually thought I would ! I’ll admit some of the challenges are a bit easy, but it’s geared towards younger kids so that’s why. It keeps me pretty entertained and I like the animations. I recommend getting it for when you’re bored or are in the mood to play. Some people are annoyed by the amount of ads played, which I normally am too and delete apps all the time because there were just too many annoying ads. While there are frequent ads, I understand that it’s one of the only ways this game makes any money, and I enjoy the game enough to endure the ads. You can also pay for a no-ad package if you like. It really depends on your preference and if your willing to watch a couple ads in between challenges ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyways I'd recommend this game to anyone interested and I'm giving it 5 stars, but of course it's really up to you but I'd try it out cuz no harm in trying, right ? :)) (Apologies for a long review but I felt like sharing so yEaH)
This game is pretty fun, and very addictive. Although, there are some things that could make it better. First, it glitches A LOT. Ugh! When it glitches, it causes you to die. The point of the game is NOT to die! Sometimes, I am doing the right thing to do in the round, but it glitches and freaks out, and I die, even though I wasn’t doing ANYTHING wrong. Second, there are WAY to many ads. Even if I want to do something simple like go to the home menu thing, an ad pops up. If you’re like me, and can’t stand ads, don’t get this game. You have to be really tolerant of ads and patient to actually like this game. By now I’m used to it, but would appreciate if there weren’t as many ads. Third, a lot of the different round/game things DON’T let you survive! For example, the “leaky landlubber” game usually doesn’t let me survive. The point of that game/round/whatever you call all the different ways of dying is to get to the shore as fast as possible. It never lets me! Also, most of the daily challenge games don’t allow me to survive. The daily challenges are WAY harder to survive than the normal thing. Okay, something I also just remembered is that for the “food fright” mini game, I click the healthier choice, and for some reason, it changes to the rotten food, and makes me die, even though I clicked the healthy apple or cookie that isn’t rotten. PLEASE FIX THIS!! I can’t lie, this game is really entertaining and fun otherwise. If you’re able to deal with glitches, ads, and times when it’s literally impossible for you to survive, I highly recommend!!! Those small things could really make a difference in the game, though. I hope I gave you some important information about this game you should know before getting it. I love this game other than glitching and ads. I also think this game is really creative, but needs work in many areas.
