Drop Away: Color Puzzle is a refreshing take on the falling-block genre. Instead of just clearing lines, you're managing stacks of colors and trying to trigger massive chain reactions. The 'Drop Away' mechanic feels very natural on a touchscreen—you tap to drop blocks into columns, and the physics take care of the rest. It requires a lot of foresight because one wrong drop can block a color you desperately need to clear later.

The minimalist art style is its strongest suit. It’s clean, easy on the eyes, and uses a very pleasing color palette. There are no distracting ads or cluttered menus, which makes for a very focused experience. While it doesn't have the variety of some larger puzzle games, its core loop is incredibly solid. It’s a great 'flow state' game where you can just zone out and focus on the colors. For people who enjoy games like Tetris or 2048 but want something a bit more colorful and tactile, this is a great choice.

Good game, lost opportunity due to short timers
Tue Feb 17 2026 dumplynx

I am a gamer, 100% have been playing these types of games all my life as well as console games. Not my first rodeo. That said, timers that are at 1 minute or under two can be unreasonably frustrating. I sit with those puzzles for a bit and try solving them before making any moves and find myself frenzied at the end. Do I solve it, yes. Is it satisfying, no. I do like the game but not sure it’s going to be a “lifetime game” for me like some of my other games. I have one game I play that is similar and has a timer and can be frustrating but in a fun way. I am 6 years with that game and put some money into it because it has realistic expectations. This game; however, I would not put a dime into because of the unrealistic timers. Yes, I can beat the levels but I am a serious gamer where others, who just like playing for the fun of it will not keep the game and that’s where the developer has a ‘lost opportunity” to grow the app.

Deleted it

I find the game fun, challenging and a good concept, however I ended up deleting it after spending much to keep it going. It’s absolutely not balanced unless your an AI or have a lot of money to spend. I do NOT RECOMMEND this game. I not only purchased the game but spent money on the pass as well as other bundles. There are gotcha, moves as well for example placing the continue button for the cost of your money in the same area as your game which causes you to spend coins unintentionally. That’s extremely shady! It happened multiple times and that is when I deleted it although not the only reason. I’ve been a gamer for many years and this is one of the worst but clever tactics I’ve seen. I had 3000 coins left but still don’t care. Done and done.

Total Rip-Off

I started playing this game while they were apparently in the middle of revamping it to screw people into the micro transactions just to be able to play. First it didn’t let you bypass the ads, which was annoying enough, but when they finally did fix the option to remove ads (paid feature), the button didn’t work for several days. Once I was finally able to get past that, it was fun for all of about 2 days before I noticed the timer on the levels kept getting shorter and shorter. Now it’s nearly impossible to win a level in the time limit (30 seconds, really?!?!), so you blow through your lives. The only viable option is to extend your time by a few seconds, which costs 900 coins for the first extension on each level and just goes up each subsequent extension, however you only get back 40 per level. To make matters worse, the cost to buy coins is insane… $2 for 1000 coins is the smallest package available, which will buy you 15 seconds on a single level. My advice… steer well clear of this game, it’s total scam. I’m left getting screwed out of my $10 to remove ads, and the game is still unplayable unless you want to fork over tons of cash.

Great puzzle game, poor monetization

The game idea and graphics are great. Puzzle itself are super fun it’s sometimes hard to imagine so many steps are required! However the monetization scheme is just horrendous. Extremely unforgiving timers making people feel like paying ransom. Paying got u 20 seconds but you will spent like 5 seconds to get your brain back where you are. The widget clock freezer only freezes for 5 seconds. When I go click it and back to where I was, half the time is already lost. I would be surprised if people are paying for this. I dunno if it can be fixed but here are my 2c: When using the coin, probably better to start count down only when people make a move. Same for the freezer. The fun of the game is not only in finishing the puzzle but also in the process of solving it. Removing ads is also way too expensive. Would work much better if it’s just 1.99 or so and for a month. Can’t imagine people want to buy out the ads forever if the game is consistently asking them to quit. The bag system I think is a good idea, but the shrinking gun is probably too strong. Sometimes it trivializes a puzzle. I dunno, sometimes I feel I am in this game for the challenge, but the game either made the challenge too harsh requiring me to try many times and memorize the steps in order to overcome the harsh timer, or too trivial that yes I get the good feeling of completing levels and levels, but really not nearly as much of a satisfaction.

Fun, but…….

This is a very fun game. The timer can make it a bit challenging. Especially when you are trying to move the blocks and it’s like it just won’t let you move them. Even with nothing stopping them. The big downer for me is how long it takes to build up 900 coins. Which is what you need if you want to continue on with a level. If you watch ads you only get 80 coins. So it takes a long time to get to 900. And with every third level being a hard or very hard level it starts to make the game not fun or worth it anymore. Not to mention you are moving blocks quickly and when the timer runs out it pops up the screen to select if you want to use the 900 coins. The button is big and of coarse, has no problem with the slightest touch. So your coins go away without you wanting them too. They need to fix the amount of coins you need and add an extra are you sure for the use the coin button.

Really fun game with one annoying game mechanic
Mon Nov 24 2025 Anony16480537

I don’t usually write reviews but honestly this is a very fun And challenging game. The one minor annoyance is the “bomb” mechanic where certain tiles have to be completed before others do, or they blow up. When the corresponding color people are hidden behind elevators so you can’t see them, you have literally no way of knowing how to strategize, so it’s impossible, in principle, to complete the level correctly on your first try unless you just happen to guess correctly at where the bomb color people might be. Could there be some kind of indicator like “this elevator has 1 bomb-color person inside” to give players a hint?

Timer eats u up… not enough time!!
Thu Nov 13 2025 Tori1771

Fun game! The idea on how the game is played is soooo much fun BUT…The timer is wayyyy to short!!! The timer ruins the game completely!! When u play a game it’s fun when it’s a challenge but when u constantly can’t beat the timer it’s not any fun anymore. It would be fun if the timer would allow you to win once in a blue moon. The timer needs some extra time. Also u need to add a way for us to be able to earn more time once the timer runs out so we can eventually get through that level. Because the game is never going to have enough time to get through that level. So if you keep making a way for us to have a option for us to watch a video or something and earn 40 more seconds or whatever time would help it would be a huge help.

MOVE THE EXTEND TIME BUTTON!!!
Fri Jun 06 2025 Pod Listener1228

This game makes me so mad. When you are playing you are moving shape around with your finger and trying to beat the clock. Well EVERY SINGLE time you get your money built up to 900+ coins, and you are moving shapes around quickly because you are almost out of time, and you don’t beat the clock the screen that asks you if you want to pay 900 coins to extend your time pops up and you accident click on it every time. Using your 900 coins when you don’t want to. This is a rip off and it makes me so mad. It takes FOREVER to build up those coins, and then they are just wasted. You either need to move the button (not in a spot that you’d be rubbing your finger over the board) or make it ask if you are sure you want to use the coins. So you can say no if you didn’t mean to hit it. FIX THIS PLEASE!!!
