Dicero successfully manages the difficult task of making a dice-based game feel strategic rather than frustrating. It leans into the 'weighted luck' philosophy—you know you’re rolling dice, but you’ve spent so much time crafting those dice that you feel in control of the outcome.
The art direction is fantastic, with a moody, hand-drawn look that fits the high-stakes combat perfectly. Each encounter feels like a puzzle: how do I use my limited re-rolls to turn this mediocre hand into a winning strike? The progression system is rewarding, as unlocking a new legendary die feels like a major power spike.
It’s a great title for players who enjoy games like Dicey Dungeons but want something with a bit more of a traditional RPG feel. It’s polished, original, and highly addictive.
Unique dice-based combat system
Deep hero and dice customization
Atmospheric dark fantasy art
Challenging tactical boss battles
Epic campaign mode
Use the shards you collect from battles to 'reforge' your dice. Replacing a low-value '1' face with a 'Shield' face can drastically increase your survivability in boss fights.
Never rely purely on luck. Use your character's 'Willpower' points to re-roll a bad result or lock a specific die before the next turn to ensure you have the defense you need.
While there is luck involved, the game provides many strategic tools to control and influence your rolls.
For once, I can’t think of anything bad to say about an app or game. Ever since I started last night I haven’t opened any other app on my phone. I love dice games and rpgs so this is already up my alley. I appreciate that it’s not timed, like I can start a battle and walk away to handle life, and come back and finish. This is a very important feature these days! I also like that I can play with only one hand on phone, another helpful feature when multitasking. I will there there are A LOT of things to tap at first, when unlocking features and accepting earnings, and most of the time I didn’t even know what I was claiming. It has slowed down now that I’m establishing my character, and I’ve played enough to know what I’m collecting. I love this game!
The core conceit of the game is quite fun - a Yahtzee roguelike run akin to Balatro. Get your multipliers up and rig your dice as much as possible to defeat the boss at the end. It’s also a Gacha game, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The problem is there is a huge disconnect between the actual minute-to-minute gameplay and the Gacha mechanics. All you gather outside of battles is generic equipment that boosts your generic Gacha stats. Attack and HP go up, then you play the next level where enemy attack and HP go up. And within the game runs, there’s so little variety in the dice that you basically can get the same setup every battle. This could have been like Puzzle and Dragons where you are doing Gacha rolls to build a team of “dice”, but instead I’m left wondering what I’m even expected to use the premium currency on. More generic weapon chests? Maybe in a year or two this game will have enough weapon and dice upgrade variety to be worth sticking with, but as it currently stands, there is not enough investment in making the actual dice-rolling roguelike game balanced or interesting.
You have a good addicting game. I enjoy the gameplay. The progression has been smooth up until now. I feel like I’ve reach the top of the S curve in terms of progression at this point. Some critiques that I think would help me want to keep playing while on top of the S curve would be: 1. Allow an offline mode of some kind. I get absolutely no signal at work (where, like most people, I spend most of my day) and I can’t play your game at all because it makes me log in and connect to a server. You can tell this game is heavily inspired by Balatro. One of the best things about Balatro was that it can be played anywhere and everywhere regardless of signal strength. At least implement some offline minigame that allows you to earn some rewards. 2. Allow us to equip and transmog the look of our character using the basic outfits you find at the beginning. It seems like you can only change your characters outfit by buying certain outfits. I wish I could change my outfit just based off of everything I have. It would give people most incentive to buy the more powerful outfits that you guys have. 3. Make the game less reliant on luck. A more diverse option of power ups after you defeat an enemy could help with this. Get creative with (not game breaking) with the types of power ups you can choose from while going through the main gameplay loop. I might change my score at time goes on and if these features are implemented. For the time being, I think this is a fair score.
I’m ngl I kept getting this ad through Instagram, and I was like… lemme just down load it so I don’t get the bad anymore ( ik it’s wrong IM SORRY DICERO😭🙏 ) But now… I wanted to try it bc I was curious of animation, and honestly ever since my curiosity I genuinely like this game. It’s easy to play, simple understanding of the controls and honestly it’s pretty fun. I’d definitely recommend if you wanna chill out for a bit. I will say the only problem I had was a very tiny bug when I tried starting the game and it showed purple boxes ( probably bc it was released the same day ), but once i restarted the game it was gone and it never showed up again sooooo, Good Job DICERO… you now have a loyal player😼😼😼
Mechanics are like a rogue-like version of Yahtzee. Gameplay is decent fun. Graphics and sound are pretty bland though (and why do people think fighting slimes is so appealing??). And tons of typical f2p gift giving junk. The biggest issue though is it's WAY too easy to become uber-powerful. On my second run, I defeated the final boss in one shot (and no, it wasn't all luck). That's just ridiculous. Do players and devs have so little self esteem and skill/ability to problem solve these days that they need automatic wins and heroes that easily become super powerful to boost their fragile egos?? One more thing I just discovered - when replacing a die ability with a new one, you can't see the dice's current abilities, so you don't know what you're replacing unless you remember each one! That's ridiculous! Every single game in existence allows you to see an equipped item's skill when choosing whether to replace it.
never mind about my other review, i played this and it gets significantly harder around level 10 so you either grind gear for 回DAYS回 on end or you have to (not surprisingly, it's a mobile game) spend money! "i love spending money for pixels!" i understand that the developers of games like this one deserve to make at the very 回LEAST回 a few bucks for their time and effort, but this feels a bit overkill. in my opinion HABBY should make in-app purchases here an 回OPTION回 instead of nearly an obligation to continue so that people aren't turned off by feeling forced into spending their money 回thank you for reading this 😀回 also for people who are complaining endlessly for trivial reasons other than the slight pay2win the developer was up at midnight responding to your reviews thats called 回dedication回 EDIT: after playing more it does feel slightly less paywalled because i have obtained more gear and i'm 回REALLY HAPPY回 there's no ads (yet), just for that i'm rating it higher all i'm saying is please either make the subscriptions and in-app purchases less overpowered or make it just a bit easier for non-paying players also how does the healing loot work because it seems to only appear more than 2 at a time when you're above 70% health... i will rate it 4 stars because this game is not completely polished (or, better worded, it's still in somewhat early versions) so it has some problems but overall in my opinion it's pretty good! (specifically to HABBY: i can tell your developer team worked hard on this and 回thank you回 for that i appreciate that you don't feel the need to rely on ads and i understand that the other alternative to earn an income from games would be donations or in-app purchases, i just would like it to be less overkill (and make the game just a bit more streamlined so you can see where you need to go without having to scour for <!> signs); thanks for reading this 😀)
The game starts out fun enough. Get random level-ups, some for your current weapon (greatsword, hammer, staff) and some neutral (swordwave, poison, HP, etc). If you get lucky enough you can roll dice well and clear the chapter. Lots of p2w gacha elements, but still fun for f2p. After enjoying the game and waiting excitingly for the next update, 1.21 drops… instead of bugfixes, or new exciting rewards, we get more ways to spend money. More ways for p2w players to pull ahead in rush events. New bosses that are significantly (more than 2x) harder than current ones, replacing the old ones on chapters people are already on, making them stuck there for days and weeks making 0 progress and having 0 fun unless they swipe. And the best part is- the only way to beat them is with a full hammer build. 2/3 weapons made irrelevant. Both poison and swordwave made irrelevant. Endless restarting of the chapter, ignoring the majority of level-ups, because only hammer can beat the new bosses. I cannot support the direction this game is going in. I won’t be playing until some better changes are made. Bugfixes on broken asterites (that people pay for) instead of harder, less fun, less diverse bosses for the sake of forcing payment.
I love this game… the chance mechanic is captivating. Everything is flawless. Upgrading, chance rolls for higher multipliers- it’s all carefully thought of. The guilds are a bit.. confusing, however. A 29 character limit is not sustainable for full guild chat interactions. Especially if you’re an owner with rules and expectations. Repeated messages make you sound desperate or inexperienced when being the owner is met with such a low and tight single message cap. That’s my only critique and advice… people run top ranked guilds— we need to be able to actually talk, not 10 messages just to speak in chat about what’s going on. Please think about extending the single chat character cap 💙
