92/100

Rock and Stone! Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor successfully distills the 'co-op mining' chaos of the original into a solo 'bullet heaven' experience that is incredibly hard to put down. The core hook—balancing the need to mine minerals with the need to stay mobile against a literal sea of bugs—creates a tense, rewarding loop. You find yourself constantly making split-second decisions: do I risk grabbing that extra bit of Gold, or do I make a break for the landing zone?

The destructible terrain is the secret sauce here. Being able to mine your own paths to create chokepoints or escape routes adds a layer of strategy that other survivor-likes lack. Each run feels distinct thanks to the weapon overclocks and the different class specializations. It’s a perfect mobile companion to the main game, maintaining the humor, the grit, and the overwhelming satisfaction of a successful extraction. Just watch out for the detonators!

Take a BOW! GREAT JOB ON THIS GORGEOUS GAME!
Tue Dec 16 2025 .Apple.Inc.

I’m a developer of 15+ years and iv played just about every survival type game and yes some of them have kept my attention for long periods of time but this one checks 99.9% of my bookmarks and I would also like to state. I’m a huge critic when it comes to sloppy work, copy cat game past overs, and others alike. I have played the pc games you have published and you executed the gameplay, flow, and missions really well. I would like to see the story and mission progression be improved like there’s a story and feel that your driving towards. Funny because driving is my next deal. I’d like to see some type of gameplay that allows for drivable mining gear that also progresses like that off the gear and characters. That plus a story driven purpose for what’s the point of this all in the first place. Maybe even flyable from one planet to another but not just those same levels and not much different which you’ve done well with the mission levels when you brought out the escort levels. I was instantly hooked. I only wondered why you wouldn’t be able to actually use this as a mechanic and gameplay with the vehicle you escort. I play this game daily and the developers can check my time usage and know iv done my time and i ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS STYLE OF SURVIVAL ROGUE GAMEPLAY AND LEVEL UPS. Now let’s see you take it to the next level. - this is not a sponsored Ai review it’s by an actual person. Thanks again for a great game!

A Deep, Addictive Gem, Worth the purchase.

DRG Survivor is honestly a treat. I checked it out because I love Vampire Survivors style games, and I’ve always been a fan of Deep Rock Galactic on Xbox. As a dad, I download a lot of mobile games since I don’t always have time to fire up the good ol’ Xbox, so I’m always looking for something to scratch that itch. After a couple rounds, I went ahead and bought the full version. The trial really doesn’t show how deep the progression system goes, and I absolutely love it. The fact that it has portrait mode is a huge win for me playing with one hand is often a must when you’ve got little ones. I also tend to judge games by comparing their price to a movie ticket: did it entertain me longer than a movie? In this case, absolutely yes. I can see myself playing this for a long time. My only gripe is that the great graphics do hit the battery pretty hard.

Still crashing

Now that the game has mid run saves and is now possible to play on mobile, it really is a good game, lots to like. However the almost 50% crash rate as soon as you beat the final boss of a dive is unbearably frustrating. 3-4 patches in and it still happens consistently. At least no longer this means your entire run is wiped due to the saving, still means you have to play the last floor over, and I’m honestly not sure if it’s built in cheat protection, but around the 20x this game has crashed on that last boss kill, loading back into it has 100% of the time gave me nothing but the worst rolls possible, killing me multiple times or otherwise making it take way longer than on the initial run. All in all if the crashes get fixed, this is a very enjoyable Vampire Survivors clone. Also, the mobile UI needs desperate fixing, names equipment upgrading. No where does it tell you what it costs, what it does, and there is no way to compare equipment without unequipping both, and memorizing the stats. Auto equip also doesn’t take into account stats at all, just equipment level, which could overall be much worse even if higher.

“Why doesn’t even cost” and 2 stars for a review saying they’ve purchased it before on steam so they think it’s too expensive here…. Wow. Spoiled people thinking everything should be free. Anyway, the game is fantastic. Tons of replay ability and so far amazing content. One hand mobile controls are easy to use. Occasionally stutters on my phone but nothing so bad that it compromises the game at all. Great vampire survivor-like game. I’ve played about 6 hrs now and feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface. For what it’s worth, some steam reviews show upwards of 150 hrs of play time. Pretty impressive that they’ve brought it to mobile. Pick it up, you’ll be happy you did. Rock and Stone!!!

Frequent crashes, otherwise fun

Outside of the random crashes during some boss fights that cause you to lose 10-15 minutes of progress (the game only saves your progress between maps, and never during a map), and the fact that you cannot play the Shotgun mastery level because it crashes on load, it’s otherwise pretty fun. Another Vampire Survivors bullet heaven style game but with interesting meta game progression, and a fun “you can change the topology of the map and create new choke points as you wish” mechanic that’s really fun. Complaints: - Runs like boiled sewage. First game I’ve ever played on my phone that caused it to overheat and shut down on its own. - crashes A LOT, and some levels can’t even be started because it’ll crash during load - bad graphics options, so you’re kinda stuck with their preset settings. Why can’t I turn off gloom separately? If I want to turn off the godawful bloom I also have to turn down the texture resolution and disable shadows. - Most of the item effects are boring and uninspired. “Heal 2 health per second forever” is useful but boring. Pros: - meta progression is fun; you unlock new weapons by leveling up different classes, weapons have synergies, and there’s a lot of different elemental types that all have their own effects - mining the map lets you change how enemies approach you, so you can make your own choke points - since you have to escape after completing the final objective, you have a funny 30 second adrenaline rush after defeating the boss as you try to get to the escape pod drill thing

Love it but..

Update 2: I’m losing my patience with the crashes, certain levels ALWAYS crash now, which is preventing progression. The second gate and the jury rigged boomstick mastery are two examples. Update: starting to see more and more crashes and starting to get overheating as well, bummer! The save issues I’ve been dealing with are better, rarer at least. But I’d like some big quality of life improvements in terms of info about items. Some items can’t be sold, but it seems like that’s only when they aren’t equipped. You can’t tell what it takes to upgrade items. You can’t look at item descriptions during a run or without removing them first. The game plays surprisingly smooth on my phone, rarely overheats, and I can play one handed in portrait mode! I am so excited that this came out mobile, I have it on steam and always want more quality games ported so I can play more conveniently. However, I’m encountering a very annoying bug. Sometimes, with no clear / obvious reason, the game will not access my main “account” with my actual progress. Instead, I get access to 3 saves slots where the game thinks I’ve barely cleared the first level vs rank 10 and having unlocked escorts already. I can’t figure out why this happens but I know my primary account data is stored somewhere as last night I could access it. Suddenly, I reopened the game today and I only see my alt “account” with piddling progress ;_; fix this annoying bug for the 5 stars you deserve! To be clear, I have the see save on start up turned on, it is not a matter of just selecting a different save file!

AMAZING game, occasional lag spikes
Wed Nov 12 2025 eMac001

I already love and play this game on Xbox and PC. It’s such a great Deeprock Galactic Spin on games like Vampire Survivor or Brotato. That said it’s got a buy the game feature, but I think that’s a PRO! This game is 100% WORTH $10 or more! The phone version of Brotato is SUPER annoying with ads.. and you can watch ads to reroll upgrades like 20+ times per round. Really ruins the gameplay. This one seems to have no ads? Going to keep playing to test more. I will say the graphics settings are set to auto by default and on my brand new iPhone 17 Pro it has hiccups and little lag spikes intermittently, but not often. Noticed it when elites were hatching from eggs and a couple other times. Hopefully that’s ironed out. SUPER FUN game! You can try it out for free, and if you like it, pay that $10

Gate 1 completed sector 2 still locked
Thu Nov 27 2025 Puddincakes

2nd Update: after the new patch I was able to complete azure Weald and then completed gate 1 only for sector 2 to still be locked. I don’t understand how something new is broken after every update. Don’t charge 10 dollars if you can’t get your game up and running smh. 1st Update: now I can’t play this level as the game just crashes. Seriously who charges premium price for a game and it can’t even run properly. This is ridiculous I’ve spent 10 bucks on a game that is constantly deleting my progress. I used to get my progress back by relaunching the game when the error occurred but now with this recent update it’s gone entirely. Lost literally hours of progress with cogs and gear gone. My dwarfs are all low level again. This is ridiculous. I enabled the show save slots and there is no save slot with my lost progress. I do not recommend buying this game until they fix this issue.
