Kingdom Rush Battles is the pinnacle of the TD genre on mobile. It takes everything that worked in the previous titles and injects it with a fresh sense of scale. The hero system is the best it’s ever been, with heroes that feel like they have a genuine presence on the battlefield rather than just being a walking stat-boost. Moving your hero to intercept a break-away troll is a pulse-pounding moment of tactical control.
The level design is masterfully balanced. Every stage feels like a puzzle with multiple solutions, though some of the 'Iron Challenges' will definitely test your sanity. The sheer variety of towers and their specialized upgrades means you can tailor your defense to your specific playstyle. Whether you're a long-time fan or a newcomer, this is the gold standard of tower defense.
Over 18 unique tower abilities
Epic boss fights
Unlockable heroes with distinct skill trees
In-game encyclopedia of enemies
Identify where multiple paths converge. Place your high-damage Mage towers there, supported by Barracks to stall enemies in the blast zone.
Select and move your Hero across the battlefield to plug gaps in your defense. Each Hero has two active abilities that charge over time.
Yes, including Casual, Normal, and Veteran modes.
This is the best game I’ve ever played better than Roblox Minecraft even game like Fortnite like honestly I’m surprised Roblox has been even Minecraft hasn’t made mini games on this game because of how good it is but it just insanely good. It’s fun. It’s strategy based and it’s a relaxing game like it’s kind of competitive which it’s pretty goodso I think it’s 55 stars because it has no issues that I’ve came in to run into so far everything seems to work properly I mean the updates are kind of slow but like every game has an update or two that is slow. The last update that I had went incredibly fast that was went faster than my dad going 1000 miles per hour on a highway bro I looked away from my screen for one second and it updated that thing was like 100 and some megabytes or something so honestly good game perhaps to whoever made this because like a lot of games don’t have leaderboard like global leaderboard like I’ve came into a few games that do have that like sure he usually like off by a month like I don’t remember the name of the one game I’m playing right now, but I’m better than the number one person and have been since January like catch up bro. No, I think your game is pretty good or like once again there’s no issues no updates that need to be made like so yeah that’s like all. I have to say have a great rest of your day
I’ve been seeing alot of reviews saying the paid to win isn’t that bad, and while it’s true that’s yes you can get max level cards if you just play enough, it’s also true that YES THEYRE ARE CARDS YOU LITERALLY CANT GET UNLESS YOU PAY, if you click on card pools there’s a few cards you literally can not get unless you pay for them, this includes bresad the dragon, the epic necromancer card, and even magus spell born, maybe they add it to the card pool later but the fact that paid to win players get access to cards that you literally can’t get means the game is indeed PAID TO WIN. I love ironhide and I’ve played every iteration of KR games since 2014 from the OG to frontier, origins, revenge, alliance, and even the iron marine games. And yes battles is still fun but I’d be remiss to say that it’s completely paid to win and the game isn’t rewarding enough with new cards, you have a 1 percent chance to get a legendary right now in the game, and it’s only form certain chests and that you can get them from, it’s not rewarding enough when the whale can just spend 20 and get it maxed leveled then your only a few hundred trophies in, plus’s the paid to win cards have insane effects and stats that just isn’t fair for your normal F2P player
I love the Kingdom Rush franchise, so a highly replayable multiplayer Kingdom Rush game sounds like a slam dunk of a concept. But this game is kind of a mess. Its extremely pay-to-win (which alone wouldn't be so bad, but in order to even stand a chance in the ticketed timed-contest arena mode you basically need to have a specific tower you can only get at stupidly high levels of normal-play or, of course, by paying (I've gotten this tower by normal brute force for the record, but the fact I basically couldn't play half the game for like 100 hours was kind of lame)). And even if you do have paid towers, higher levels of ranked are sorta just a coin toss to see who dies first because the enemy balancing is brutal- meaning matches are really short and unsatisfying for everyone involved. Strategy is also sotta underwhelming in this game, there's not a ton of dynamic response to specific events in individual matches, so you end up largely performing the same strategy over and over without much thought. The whole thing also feels very half-baked, this game has been out for half a year and its only recently getting many basic features you'd expect of multiple-player mobile games like this, like battle passes and emotes. And it still doesn't have guilds. Again, the concept is amazing. But the execution leaves a lot to be desired. And the overall vibe of updates really feels like the devs are just trying to extract as much money as possible before their half-finished game collapses. I've still played it a ton though so if you like kingdom rush I'd say give it a shot, just set your expectations low.
This game is amazingly addictive, fun, and time consuming for the times I need to get out of my head. The only change I recommend is that the enemies are balanced more evenly. Some games the enemies are close to pathetic, other games they are straight tanks. Some you don’t get many enemies, other waves you’re overwhelmed by 300 Spartans. It’s hard to build my towers when I don’t know what type of enemies are coming through. Edit: changed my rating due to beresad dragon, pay to win hero. Can’t win any games against people that have top tier everything. It needs a massive nerf asap. Super annoying to vs, no skill needed. Last edit: I am a F2P player that has played many games like this, I have had this game for a lil over a month. I have fully upgraded all my towers and heroes to the max and main Raelyn. I believe this game has potential. But it lacks equity. There’s only certain towers and heroes that can counter most enemies and players. In a game where skill is the main fundamental component. P2W players just always plummet you. I know when my wins are easy, it’s most likely a bot that I’m versing. The competitive games I’m all here for, but it feels like I’m just versing bots to claim ranked points to later pass on to the P2W players that demolish me with 3 or more legendary cards, and they always tend to arrive when I’m on a streak, or when I’m near the end of bronze rank, which is super unsatisfying. Feeling like I’m constantly contributing to those that have spent more than me. So my honest opinion, gotta be a 2 star game till later improvements.
only giving 2 stars bc the kr series has always been a fun time, but this game is different. play the game too well and you end up getting put on stages where your towers dont do enough damage to win you the game, and winning games is the only way to level up. they have an "onslaught" event that evens the levels out but that mode has its own set of issues, the main one being if someone disconnects from the game even when youre winning, you dont get your win AND it uses your entry ticket, and tickets are limited. the farther you get in the game, the more p2w you'll start seeing with towers and heroes that shouldnt be unlockable yet. the chest/battle timer also seems kind of manipulative in a sense that you dont get any rewards or a timer reset until you complete it. if you advance to the next stage while you chests are on cd, they will be refreshed giving you more (and better) rewards, but if you advance without completing your chests, then they dont refresh. the main reason i wrote this review though, was because of "onslaught," halfway through my last game i got a "reconnecting" message that ive never seen before, then my game crashed, so i loaded it back up, it sent me to the main menu, my ticket was gone and i was down to my last one, and thats when it reconnected me to the game that i just got booted from... I WON THE GAME, collected my rewards, went to see if my last ticket was gone and it was... two tickets for one reward, how generous. i really hope these problems get fixed bc once again i am a kr fan, but this game is pretty different from the smooth game im used to playing
As someone who has loved tower defense games for years, I really love this multiplayer game. There are some of the paid characters that are incredibly hard to beat, which can be super annoying because you feel like you don’t even have a chance if you’re not also paying for these. But it’s not impossible to beat them. It can just be really, really, really annoying. Anyways, besides that it’s super fun. I just don’t like that people can buy their way to winning where I feel like I don’t even stand a chance half of the time. I used to not even agree with this take but as I have progressed in the game, I feel like I’m stuck with the same characters desperately trying to win against these paid characters, and it’s just gotten more difficult as time goes on. This is coming from someone that has literally tried so many different strategies because I didn’t want to believe that I was losing because they have a better character, right? But no. I feel like I have a really good shot at winning when playing against normal non-paid characters but when it comes to the paid characters, it’s literally a 90% chance that the other person is going to win.
This game is awesome in terms of staying true to kingdom rush gameplay and putting a fun twist on it to make it 1v1 like other popular games such as Clash Royale. Unfortunately, the issue I have run into is with playing against wildly over-leveled opponents. I have been stuck at Arena 5 and see no end to it. My units are around level 5 each, and yet approximately 80% or more of the opponents I face have level 7+ units and one of the extremely rare heroes (the dragons can basically only be purchased with money as well as any hero, tower, or spell that is epic or legendary). I really enjoy the gameplay of Kingdom Rush Battles, but the matchmaking is truly awful, as is the luck when drawing from a chest. Please fix the fairness of opponents faced and probability of pulling a decent unit. There is no reason that I should be in a guaranteed loss due to lack of luck and poor matchmaking. Any player facing this issue would have absolutely no issue waiting a little bit longer to find a FAIR match. Moreover, this issue extends to events, where my opponents average 1,000+ more trophies than I do. I cannot continue to play this if I know I’ll only win 1/5 matches every time I play. *UPDATE* I have uninstalled the game due to ridiculously careless matchmaking and “gacha” style of game. So sad to see Ironhide stoop so low and ruin what could have been amazing. Didn’t seem super fair to me to play as someone with 1,200 trophies and have to beat someone with 3,000. Also wasn’t super fun when my opponents (bots) had level 10 towers while I’m at level 5 in the snow arena. Terrible, disgusting, money grab of a game.
I feel the need to preface this by stating im a massive fan of the series. I remember playing the original on Armor Games at my school’s library computer. Now I see a lot of people saying this game isn’t pay to win because everything can be earned through playing. You are correct. That’s not the issue though. Take the current even for example. To get scrolls you need to with event matches were you can be placed against an endgame player. Losing wastes an event ticket, you need to win event match to get scrolls to summon the green dragon (don’t remember it’s name). Or you can pay about $110 and get all the gems required to roll 60 times for the guaranteed unlock. This dragon hero is incredibly overpowered. I played multiple matches where other players only need 1-2 towers down to completely steamroll me in the event match mode. In theory yes I could play for 100s of hours lose thousands of match to finally be on the same level as a whale who thinks spending money on a mobile game means something or I can uninstall the game. To people who would “just delete the game” that’s what I did I wrote this review because this franchise meant a lot to me back when it was a flash game and to see it become a degenerate pay to win clash royale clone is really sad. I used to think Iron Hide Games was cool and talented but nope they have chosen to make more slop. It’s sad I hope they change.
