Chop Chop Hockey is a frantic, no-holds-barred arcade experience that perfectly captures the spirit of 'pick up and play' mobile gaming. Eschewing the complex simulation aspects of professional hockey games, Gamerizon focused on speed, big hits, and intuitive touch controls. The result is a 3v3 brawler on ice where the lack of a referee means you spend as much time checking opponents as you do chasing the puck.
The 'Chop Chop' control scheme is the star here—simple swipes and taps allow you to pass and shoot with surprising accuracy once you get the rhythm down. The cartoonish graphics are vibrant and look great on Retina displays, adding to the lighthearted, high-energy vibe. While it lacks deep management or career modes, the tournament structure and variety of unlockable arenas (including a graveyard!) provide plenty of arcade fun for quick sessions.
Fast-paced 3v3 Arcade Gameplay
Intuitive Swipe-to-Play Controls
Cartoonish, High-Quality Graphics
Unlockable 'Ultimate Pack' Content
To score more effectively, aim your shots towards the corners of the net. Swipe quickly and precisely to increase the power of your slapshot. One-timers are also possible with timed taps during a pass.
Take your favorite team through a series of matches to win the championship. Each tournament increases in difficulty, requiring better puck control and more aggressive checking.
No, this is an arcade-style game with no referees and no rules, focusing purely on action and scoring.
Love the game. If you’re looking to hunker down and score mad plays against AI in simple 3v3 games, go no further. However, I have been having trouble restoring purchases. The menu seems to have a new bug as well. Otherwise, fantastic game.
I’m so glad that this game is still running I remember I would play for hours!!!!!!!
Great game, how do i unlock last 3 tournaments
Awesome game! But how do I unlock the last three tournaments????
I love it
This game in boring how does this game have 5 stars
I, myself, am a HUGE hockey fan and love to see any app/game hockey related enter the App Store. With that said, the hockey fan in me forces my expectations to be a bit high. I thought 2K Sports set the bar high with NHL 2K11, but this is NOT that type of game. Chop Chop Hockey has that nostalgic feel of the 90's arcade hockey games (NHL Open Ice, Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey, etc.) and it's just as fun as times. Unfortunately it seems as if there was about 5 minutes worth of effort put into the game controls. Instead of sticking with what's proven to work on the iPhone with the small d-pad on the bottom left, the entire screen is essentially the d-pad. The problem with this is that you have to move your finger over the entire screen to control the player and 75% of the time you can't see what you're doing cause your fingers in the way. Not only that but the shoot and pass controls work half the time. 50% of the time you'll pass when you meant to shoot and vice versa. Switching players is also sluggish. If Gamerizon can smooth out the controls and make them stable, this game will be worth the $0.99 download price. Unfortunately it would seem this is a limited time price tag and I can't say I'd recommend it to anyone at a higher price.
