We revised your favourite Hockey to ensure compatibility with the latest devices.
Brutal Hockey lives up to its name by delivering a fast, physics-based take on the sport that prioritizes big hits over technical simulation. It reminds me of the classic arcade sports titles of the 90s, where the rules are light and the checks are heavy. The AI is surprisingly aggressive, which keeps even the early tournament matches engaging.
The controls are simplified for mobile—you aren't fighting a complex button layout while trying to skate. Instead, it’s all about positioning and timing your power-ups. While it lacks the deep licensing of a major league game, the customization options for your team and the satisfying 'thud' of slamming an opponent into the boards make it a great pick for arcade fans. It’s visceral, fun, and doesn't take itself too seriously.
High-speed arcade hockey physics
Full team customization and upgrades
Multiple tournament modes and difficulties
Satisfying haptic feedback for every hit
Don't just chase the puck. In Brutal Hockey, the best defense is often a well-timed body check. Position your heaviest player in front of the goal to intercept the opponent's star shooter before they can wind up for a slap shot.
Power-ups like 'Turbo' and 'Super Shot' appear randomly on the ice. Try to save your Super Shot for when the goalie is out of position or recovering from a hit for a guaranteed goal.
Hardly! Brutal Hockey focuses on the action, so you won't be seeing much time in the penalty box for checking.
This game is a cool concept, fun for an hour. Then you realize there only one way to score with a goalie in net and the game quickly gets stale when its the same pass shoot every game. The power ups make things a little more interesting, but its not enough and usually leads to you losing the tournament because a bomb blew up both your players etc.
It’s a great game aside from a few issues. Your own goalie might as well not be there as they are useless. The hardcore league is a stupid mess. The little insta kill squares only work on the player and same with the slow down squares which will continue after you’ve passed them. This ruins the experience and creates situations wherein the AI will dominate you because you keep dying on those stupid squares and your goalie lets them score. The death squares just need to go and same with the KO puck perk. It’s a nice idea and I still win when the enemy has it but it just goes against everything the game teaches you up to that point. If an opponent has the puck I would go in front of them and block it but with the KO puck it makes that a terrible idea. Maybe that was the devs goal but I don’t like that at all. These factors together make hardcore league a overwhelmingly sucky experience that I’m only doing to finish out the game.
I’m not sure why this is happening. I downloaded the game in 2020 (don’t remember playing it) and just redownloaded it today. Maybe it’s set to my old phone through Game Center? Turned off Game Center and it’s still happening. Load in screen looks fine, but when the game shows up, everything is way off center, buttons don’t work properly and in the tutorial, I can’t see the other teams net to score. I can’t click an options button to fix it, I tried deleting and redownloading before and after turning off Game Center. It says it’s compatible with my phone and doesn’t need an update or anything. Just trying to play something similar to Slapshot Rebound since I don’t have a windows pc. It
The game is fun, and it’s a great time waster just a few things though. 1. Too short: game is way too short, maybe have a 1 minute or a options to lengthen the game. 2. Ai is not good: the team mate Ai is awful they pass the puck instead of taking shots, are not aggressive, etc. they need to be fixed. Also the opponents teams have similar issues but seem more streamlined. 3. More teams: we need more teams facing the same 6 teams over and over again gets monotonous quick. 4. Needs more modes: the leagues are a good start however once you have beaten it there’s little to no replay ability. The endless mode is fine but it still suffers. Overall I give it a solid 3/5 stars, because the controls are good but not great, the overall game quality is good. The only thing it lacks is content.
The game is really fun once you get the controls down. Controls could use some improvement but it’s not terrible. Multiplayer through Game Center friends or random players would be a great addition since the tournament mode can be beaten pretty quickly. I’m looking forward to see what comes next as I’ve already ran through the tourney mode. Nicely done :)
Partially mr fault for lot doing enough research, but the game still requires you to watch ads after you unlock the “VIP” version to continue tournaments. I would expect to have zero adds in an ad-supported game once I pay for the full unlock. As a side note, the controls could be tighter, and additional modes for adding/removing upgrades would be a huge help. Those seem like feasible future upgrades though.
This game was one of my favorite games as a child. But now they’ve added too many things that make the game boring. For example the time bombs just make the players die the entire time and it isn’t very fun anymore all you do is sit and wait for them to get back up. They can fix this if they add a mode where there are no perks or power ups because I think that they ruined the game and strategy where the fun is.
This game looks great, but is awful to play. It used to be way too easy. Now it is marginally harder, but they made it more difficult in the laziest way possible. Instead of improving AI or gameplay or anything like that, they added spots on the ice that affect your players. Either you slow down for a while or your player gets knocked out. Is the other team affected? Of course not! Does the player on your team that you don’t control try to avoid these spots? You better believes that they don’t! This game is now awful.
