fixed issue with duplicated save games in rankings.
Yet Another Pixel Dungeon (YAPD) is a brilliant fork of the original Pixel Dungeon that focuses on tactical depth and balance. For veterans of the genre, the reworked classes and the addition of firearms and dual-wielding change the gameplay significantly. It's much less about luck and more about how you use the environment—stealth and evasion are now heavily influenced by where you stand, which makes every movement feel like a chess move.
The inclusion of a 31-floor dungeon (up from the original 26) and shops every 5 levels provides a better sense of progression. The bosses are much more 'epic' and require specific strategies rather than just stat-checking. It’s one of the most polished roguelikes on mobile, offering a high difficulty curve that remains fair. If you found the original too simple or too random, YAPD is the definitive way to play.
4 Reworked character classes
31 Floor extended dungeon
Dual-wielding and firearms
Environment-based stealth system
Always look for grass or dark corners. The environment now actively affects your evasion and stealth, meaning you can survive much longer by kiting enemies into favorable terrain.
Each class now has specific strengths. The reworked Warrior is better at head-on combat with shields, while the Huntress can excel with the newly added firearms.
YAPD focuses more on tactical equipment (shields, dual-wielding) and environmental interaction than Shattered, and has a different floor structure.
I understand there are many Pixel Dungeon variants and the "Yet Another Pixel Dungeon" is a decent one, but if the rumors are true, this is a third party selling this variant as their own. If true, TACKY. I'll happily change this review if I'm wrong.
I can’t get enough of these games! Great Mod of shattered dungeon!
I just purchased the game and it crashes on launch with a Mac Mini M4 Pro running Mac OS 26.0.1.
